If we are getting Liara-related DLC, it won't be out until at least after all the Redemption comics are released (2 more months). I could come out shortly after that (if they've been working on it for awhile). If they've pretty much just started, it could be many, many months until we see anything.

I'm impatient too....I can't wait that loooong! But, it would still be better than nothing. Plus, Liara's worth the wait.

Do people prefer the original, sweet and innocent flavor of Liara, or are you interested in the sequel’s, dark and edgier flavor of Liara?

It was deeply unsettling to see her turn into a cold, calculating killer. That's not to say I don't think it was good for the story but I want to see her in ME3 at least long enough to do something about the direction her life is going. She was such a nice girl in ME1. It would be nice not to have to think that taking her virginity and then bringing her along to help me stop Sovereign turned her into a murderer.

It is funny.
Liara is the only character in a video game that I care about.
Gotta give BioWare respect for that. Even though the Liara scene was a bit strange at some parts because of lacking emotion; BioWare managed to evoke even more emotions from me then if the scene was a happy reunion.

I agree with Agamemnon2589, I was very disappointed about how she was just a small cameo, but i like that Bioware really wanted to stress how long you had been gone and how much has changed, and Bioware has stated that the LI will be in ME3 so I trust that if they don't resolve anything in a DLC for ME2 that they will resolve everything in ME3

Not gonna lie, I really liked the new Liara. I was disappointed that you didn't get to do more with her, but the new hardness to her character was nifty. That's character growth for ya.

This just makes me sad.

Yeah she was clearly mad and launching out. It was her heated disgust with the SB that brought that on, and it was definitely out of character for her. But again, I am just gonna guess that was a result of what happened between them and that there is a ton of stuff we don't know (I am trying to find solace in this, as I keep repeating it, lol).

I think this is why I am getting impatient to see the next conversation and development with her, just to see how far she has turned and why. I trust BioWare to not have totally abandoned her true character and personality. In ME1, she was adorable.

I've enjoyed so many of BW's games that I really do want to trust them on this one, but considering how ME2 has gone, I don't think trust has anything to do with it at this point.  Not long before release they asked those of us complaining about the LI's to trust them, that they knew what they were doing, well now its time to pay up on that since ME2 obviously didn't live up to that promise.

They better "wow" the hell out of me with some Liara DLC. :pinched:

Agreed!  DLC and Liara goodness in ME3!

Wow...last time I was in here it was up to 15 pages....that's what I get for trying to have a life...now I have a lot of reading ahead of me.

Yes, I agree. ME2 is an exercise in heartache for my femshep. But, perhaps, that is what the devs intended. It seems a waste of a video game, imho, without some closure. I think the problem is that I don't truly trust them to treat the ME1 romances with respect. And they were truly romances - not many of the current relationship options are as deep.

I couldn't agree more.  There a lot of potential for a great finish to the Liara love story, but at this point, I don't trust the devs.  They've jerked around all us original love interest fans so badly over the past six months or so, I've lost any faith in Bioware I might've once had.

I've said this before, but Liara's absence casts such a huge shadow over the game, it makes it difficult for me to find much enjoyment in it.  I've decided to view ME2 as one really, reeeeeeeeally long side quest, instead of a proper continuation of my Shepard's story.

They evoked my emotions alright.  I would have rather they had been channeled into the game experience though.

She's my absolute most favorite BW romance character ever, even though I will admit that some of their other romances (i.e., Dragon Age) were done better than Liara's (or any of the ME romances).  However, I like Liara and her personality the most.

I'd like a mixture of both.   Like, imagine taking Jack and Kelly and crushing them together.  That would be cool.

Oh, and I support Liara as a squadmate in ME3.

Kelly ain't such a wide-eyed innocent. That girls got skeletons in her closet, I'm sure of it. She's doing lap dances for goodness sake.

And come to think of it, Jack ain't such a bad-ass either. Even she's having to admit she wasn't so much tougher than all the other kids coming up, that's why she's so angry.

Shepard to Liara: "We were on a break".

What about a spinoff game/franchise set on Thessia with Liara as the main player character?

Sorry if this has come up on the thread already. I'm not reading 32 pages of posts and the search function doesn't work.

Did any of you get that dialogue where she yells at you and says 'dammit?' That was when I really felt how off she was - which could be from an overwhelming stressful and horrifying two years.
[/quote]

Can someone just write a quick transcript of that dialogue option? I want to know what she says but my femshep is to scared of ticking her love bug off XD

You and me both, Liara is the epitome of favorite characters not only in a BioWare game, but in games in general, I never experienced a character I felt more love for ever.

My blue girlfriend won't hang out with me anymore because I didn't call her for 2 years. We were like soulmates and stuff. Fix this!

That is interesting, but my biggest draw is my Sheps love for Liara, so it wouldn't be the same without Sheperd.

I think I've said this is another thread, but they've invested waaaaay too much in this character for her to get sidelined, so I have no doubt she will be back. She's practically the posterchild for the first game, has her own comicbook now, and has the most interesting story of all the past ME1 sidelined characters. Plus, I think it's evident she is in love w/ Shepard whether that love is returned or not. She'll be back and you'll have to save her soul.

That would be awesome!  I'd totally play that game, read that novel, etc.

I prefer the original Liara but I don't mind her "new personality"...I just hope we'll get a better explanation (comic, DLC?). My problem was her "romance path".
For example...Sha'ira, Emily Wong and Lizbeth send emails: why not Liara? That was disappointing.

Yeah, I'm Mass Effect's ****. I'd play anything ME related but plus points for young, impressionable asari Prothean experts.

I really want to be disappointed in Bioware for Liara's appearance in ME2 but I just can't be. Yes, I absolutely wish she'd been in it more because I love Liara, but they did something no other videogame series has done for me before, they managed to make me feel everything my character would have been feeling. When my Shepard saw Liara for the first time again, I was elated right along with her; when she was brushed off before and after the first quest Liara gives her, I was hurt right along with my Shep; when she finally explained to me what was going on I awed and fell a little bit more in love just like my Shep did; and when Shep went through the Omega 4 relay and gazed longingly at Liara's picture, my heart broke just a little bit right along with Shep's because Shep might not ever get to see her again. So even though her appearance was very brief in ME2 they managed to evoke more emotions from me and my Shepard in those brief moments than the entire rest of the game and all the other characters combined.

In all honesty I think that either in DLC or in Mass Effect 3 (most likely) Liara's quest is going to lead up to the point that Shepard is required to assist her in confronting the Shadow Broker, these events would then reach it's climax when Shepard has to set her back on the right path (Paragon) or let her kill the Shadow Broker with homicidal intent (Renagade).

Something similar to Garrus and Sidonis, only with Liara the end result could set her on the wrong path permanently.
