"Uh, hello?....Can someone help me?.....Please?"
Also, I love that picture above. That smile she has on her face when Shepard emerges from the wreckage of Sovereign. So cute!

No actually its the other way around. Casey himself said the LI and in particular the Liara relationship will climax in ME3. Also other devs have echoed those sentiments. Don't worry guys and gals, we'll get our lovely blueberry muffin back.
Casey says a lot of things. Climax could mean a lot of things, not all of them good. I don't trust him, no offense (should he read this). Was he the one who said the ME1 LIs have an important role in ME2?
Eh, I don't want to be the Eeyore here. But I would caution against trusting Bioware until we see some concrete proof that they have stopped wrecking Liara's character. The comic won't give us that. The possible DLC might.
After the Ray Muwhatever his name is quote from IGN, I don't trust anything these people say.

One of the things why no one noticing Liara or the Liara / Shepard romance is so aggravating: the Ash/Shepard and Kaidan/Shepard romances were commented on... As were Ash and Kaidan in general.

Kelly bothers to ask about how my meeting with Ashley went even when I had romanced Liara, yet no one in the entire game even recognizes Liara's existence or the fact that we had a romance. That's a real kick in the teeth.

One of the many things with Liara in ME2 that made me angry as well.

Yeah. We were asked to trust Bioware to handle these issues on the strength of their previous record by the devs themselves. "I think you guys would trust us more by now..." and similar comments.
A lot of the more optimistic fans picked right up on these, and attacked anyone who had doubts.
And guess what happened when ME2 was released? I didn't trust the devs but persisted in voicing my doubts, and it looks to me I was right to do so.

That was acutally one of the most disturbing things for me. After Ash on Horizon, Kelly asked me about my feelings and if i am alright. But my Shep never had anything going with Ash, not even close, and i even got Renegade points for telling the truth that it was alright since i had no feelings for her.
But after i meet Liara on Illium, which was my love interest along the way, no response from Kelly, no question how i felt? Was that simply forgotten? This feels extremly strange, especially if like me, you go straight from Horizon to Illium and still have this conversation with Kelly in mind. Was really looking forward what she had to say and then... NOTHING.
A bit off-topic, it bothers me that if you romance someone new, no one is bothered you're still in a relationship. Okay, your new crewmates might not know, but if you've been engaged with Kaiden/Ash/Liara and in ME 2, then make out with a returning crewmate, shouldn't they at least ask what about you and that other person? They must know about it. Even if your old and new LI won't be friends and don't care cheating with you, i would at least want to know how my LI handles such things as staying faithful or is just bedding me since i'm available at the moment while his other love is not.
And one thing, don't know if thas has been mentioned before: maybe Liara stays aback from you cause she can't handle your loss? Asari are accustomed to outlive their partner, and after your death Liara has experienced this first hand. Maybe she experienced she can barely handle this feeling, and as Shep is on a suicide mission (she put her/him on by handing the body to Cerberus) , she is afraid of getting too close and then loose her/him again, this time forever, all because she couldn't let her/him go in the first place and gave the body to Cerberus?

Oh, that's awesome. My Shep went through the whole game thinkiing that. It's a wonder he saved the galaxy again. I mean even when I was fighting the bald headed human reaper, I kept thinking "hmmm. If Liara was here, this stupid thing would be dead already...*sigh*"

Yeah, it's almost like they forgot about her until the last second and couldn't do any cross-commentary on her b/c they had already done their VA sessions.

It is extremely strange that they would not immediatly correct this since they could have easily added it in a DLC pack that came out in the first day of release.
It would be worth the wait if they are planning to release a 10+ hour Liara DLC.

I dunno, felt pretty much like it was supposed to be over to me, considering they absolutely refused to even allow you to mention it.
I think we will hear more of it, or at least I hope so...
and the kiss did give warm feelings to my Shep so I don't believe it's over.
also doing the data hacking mission very slowly so I can call Liara a few times and hear her voice

I think the lack of reaction from Kelly and Joker after you see Liara is because the relationship doesn't seem to be over. Liara won't travel with you not because she doesn't want to but she believes she can't do what she needs to do from the Normandy. The Ash/Kaidan scene has a sense of it's over between the two of you the moment they walk away. Liara's meeting just doesn't have that same feel, at least not for me.
Maybe, but i still think it's arkward. Ash was treated like a former lover and she wasn't in my playthrough, while my real love interest was neglected completely by everyone.
Maybe you're right, but so shortly after one another, it still felt wrong to me. Kelly do not have to say the same, but maybe she could have just mentioned she's happy for you that you found you old love again or something. Just one small sentence, there's not even a need for a reply option.
But how it's handled now, it feels like Liara is some later ill-integrated dlc and not part of the original game, as she is never mentioned again apart from the begining with TIM.

I agree, it feels like BW forgot to reference the relationship with any other characters then at the last minute when they remembered they just said, "Oh Well, I'm sure nobody will notice".

Maybe the DLC is about Liara beeing kidnapped by the Shadow Broker to get to Shepard and sell him to the reapers.
It could also be a reason that she is a bit distand when Shepard is in her office, she knows the Shadow Broker is watching her so maybe she tries to protect Shepard.

Now that would be epic. As strong as Liara is, everyone needs rescuing every now and again. This would be my candidate for DLC story wise. I mean the SB is too strong for one person to take down...except for Sheperd. THIS WOULD OWN!

If the SB does anything to hurt my Liara I am so going to tell Grunt to eat his face.

That would be a fun/interesting DLC. If it were made I would hope that Tazic character is alive and in it. My Shepard wants to kill that overgrown solarian very badly.
