Apparently Jack with Mshep is much more difficult to not romance.

Had that same problem on my MShep.  Another squad member I basically never talk to now.

That actually makes some sense though, given the character. Since she's really never had anyone close to her that isn't just trying to sleep with her or kill her and all. It makes sense she'd get attached to Shepard.

It doesn't make any fracking sense they'd make the conversation with her so difficult to read that you could end up encouraging a relationship with her or have to break up with her.  I can understand getting attached, but that she thinks you're pursuing a relationship even after expressly telling her - and presumably the writers - that you aren't.

You get Renegade points for breaking up with her, after saying you weren't interested in the first place in previous conversations.  What the ****?

Liara is better.  I wish they had hinted at how awesome she was in ME 1.  I guess they sort of did... you just talked with her the least of all the characters.

Yeah, I really felt the relationship arcs changed drastically from ME1. They were really forced and rushed. I was so surprised when the Jack dialouge lines came up so early in the game. Not even a mention of my LI from ME1 at all from anyone, kind of disappointing.

I don't think Jack was that bad. She will wonder why you come back talking to her, and you can try keep telling her you're not interested in her romantically or sexually. In the end, she won't buy it, but I can see that being true to her character. And MaleShep only had one weirdly flirty moment I didn't intend, an answer to her "you should become a pirate" question. Otherwise no probs.

The FemShep/Jacob forced flirting sounds pretty damn bad tho. With Kaidan, most of the time the "neutral" option kept you at least somewhat professional, and the Renegade ones decidedly pushed him away.

See, that is the worst part with Jacob, femShep starts flirting even before you get the chance to select a dialog option.  As soon as you try to ask any question about him at all other then the cut and dry ship upgrade, etc question's, it goes in to flirt mode.

Think I am going to make that my last post on that subject unless directly asked a question, this is a Liara thread, not an I hate talking to Jacob with femShep thread, though that one might be worth starting.

That's the "I want to talk about you" option, which you need to select to talk about anything other than the standard personal history?

Badly played by Bioware. I wonder if this is indeed catering to those who wanted a "softer" and more "feminine" FemShep. Posted Image I preferred the professional soldier (who just happened to be a woman) from ME1. Posted Image

Will have to see for myself, but this all looks pretty bad.

Well, it sort of relates to Liara, since a FemShep who romances her is either a lesbian or bi. If they make the choice for the player to have her start flirting without your prompting it, it's simply bad form. Hell, the same goes for FemSheps trying to stay loyal to Kaidan. Why would they suddenly start hornily sizing some random dude up?

Well, pretty much everything was already said, but yeah.

I was curious if they railroaded maleShep also and started a playthrough but its hard to do. I think every one gets attached to the first Shep they make, at least I did, I cant even change femShep appearance with out it feeling the character is some how not right, and never get very far.

Do people prefer the original, sweet and innocent flavor of Liara, or are you interested in the sequel’s, dark and edgier flavor of Liara?

Two years can change person a lot. Liara was different because she wants revenge for her friend and Shep.

I know that feeling, I'am almost done with my imported Shep and i'll try to shake Jacob in the last mission, my next Shep will be the stock one has a full renegade he looks bad*** and jerky enoughPosted Image

Only soft moments will be shared with Liara the blue godess ofc.

To get back onto this topic, I think it's true that 2 years can change a person a lot.
One issue though is that she had to have started her obsession almost immediately after Shepard's death and there isn't enough time for her to make a huge character change if that's the case.
Plus revenge doesn't really fit the way she's presented in ME1. There either has to be more to it, or she has to be forced into it somehow. It would make sense that the Shadow Broker has been attempting to kill her for 2 years, and so she is forced into this war with him to survive. Her guilt over Shepard and Feron can also play into this nicely. Although I don't buy the total anger if she believes there's any chance Shep will return to life. Some anger, definitely, but not the complete vendetta.
As I've mentioned before, I feel this kind of falls apart once Shep returns though. Shep has to be the crux of it - he/she is the most important person in Liara's life at the end of ME1. If Shep returns and doesn't blame Liara or hate her, then a huge chunk of Liara's motivation has just evaporated.
The game really misses out since it doesn't explore what that means for her character and motivations. She can definitely still feel incredibly guilty about Feron (especially if he sacrifices himself for her and Shep), but you have to figure that the possibility of a reunion would be a huge conflicting emotion for her.

Does anyone feel some clases are more suited to a relationship with Liara?

I felt weird talking to her on my Infiltrator.

(Or I'm insane, but eh, good company)

I think my Infiltrator has the best relationship with Liara out of my chars...

Were you put off by the Inflitrator's ability to cloak?

On a technical side, Liara's ME1 biotic powress would best complement a tech/combat character...

im hoping to see liara in ME3 , i think they kinda dumb her down in ME2, and the reaction she has to Shepard being my LI from the first game is just... boring, not even a a option to spend time with her, its like we never met, looking at the comic books so far its clear how she cares about shepard but clearly its not seen in game.

I always interpreted it that her changed personality in Redemption, before the whole Shadow Broker vendetta, is because she blames herself for Shepard's death. In the second issue I think she says something about redeeming herself or something.

It's quite sad and moving if she does, and makes it even more annoying that Shep doesn't comfort her to a greater effect in any way. "I'll talk to you later, Liara". FFS! >:o

I did actually missed a kiss as an option in the opening scenes of ME2 if you imported a Shep that romanced Liara , no you get the option: I gave you an order! instead Posted Image

or a hug so you don't have to remove the helmet.

If the Tali cultists taught us anything, it's that the only way to get something is to whine for it every day for years.

We need to organize a concentrated whining campaign to get Liara into ME3 as a squad member.

I did think that scene was still pretty sweet, though. Liara's reluctance to leave Shepard was pretty heartwarming.

I actually used her a lot with my Infiltrator. (Along with Garrus, who took all the boring hacking skills so my Infiltrator could get the kill-stuff skills.)

Definitely never used her with my Adept, though. (Tali and Ashley...I liked having an 'all-specialist' team...though I did swap in Wrex JUST ENOUGH to keep from getting the "Human Soldier Companion" accomplishment.)

First run I did was with a new ME2 char, male gets Ash, female gets Kaidan cutscene, it's the same scenePosted Image
