All the talk about possible marriage in ME3 (happy endings) brought a question, isn't Liara by Asari standard still to young to settle down? she's still a maiden Posted Image

I did understand Asari don't usually have children and or marry till they become matron I think when they are around 300.
But then again Liara is very special Posted Image

I'm not sure that age has as much to do with the stages as maturity and personal decisions.  I can't say one way or the other for certain, but I got the impression it was more a choice not a physical maturity change.  Has there ever been any cannon lore written around the Asari stages?

Yeah, they really needed a hug or kiss interrupt there.
It also seemed unbelievable to me that she wouldn't tell Shepard to come back to her alive. I mean, hasn't she been waiting for this for 2 years? Especially if Shep tells her that she did the right thing in giving the body to Cerberus - you'd think that would mean the world to her.
Even Ashley sends you an email to that effect, if I recall.

As for Asari stages, I think they choose when they change. I think that was in the codex somewhere and that it said most wait until they are 300 or so, but not all. It seemed pretty obvious from ME1 that Liara was ready to stay with Shep pretty much immediately though.

Agreed. BW totally blew giving us any real or believable dialogue in that scene. There should have been a recognition from both Liara and Shep as to just what her actions in Redemption means to both of them.  Especially for folks who had her as an LI there should have been some acknowlegement of that and a promise from Shep to come back for her after his mission is done.

I wouldn't be surprised if all surviving love interests from the first and second game (regardless if you pursued it or not) end up being your squad.

They should have that "shut her up with a kiss" interrupt for every time she starts going on about the Shadow Broker. The Leliana romance in DA:O had something similar, it was pretty cute.

The stages are not a physical stage in the life of an Asari but a social one. The Asari bartender for instance was born to a patriarch, and it was made quite clear that Maiden's can also have children.

The Asari are a long lived race, they seem to just expect younger Asari to go out and sow their wild oat's, that does not mean that their bodies are going through any physical changes at all.

Basicly, people just over analyze things way to much sometimes, and make it way more complicated then it needs to be. A lot of people also jump to conclusions with out getting the whole story, there are still a faction of people who think the Blasto character is real, and not a made up movie character. Then they all come and make post's together on the forums and misinformation gets spread around.

That's kinda what I suspected.

Dropping in my favorite thread for some more support. She is my angel, keep it going all! And Mox Ruuga, I agree, A kiss interupt would have been spot on. Too bad we didn't get it. Here's hoping for one in the DLC.

I  think a great final cut scene for the future DLC is only if she is still a LI though but as she walks towards the ship every team member is standing in front of the Normandy and of course Shep a little bit in the front of everyone . Liara walks up a few feet from Shep. Then she gives a look to everyone and it is a little noticeable she looks at the females a tad more though. Liara then has a smile cross her face she then grabs Shep's arm and pulls him close. They start walking into the Normandy with arms around each others waists and as they pass everyone she looks to Shep and says hurry and take me to our new home since we have been apart to long.

It would just kinda crack me up. Liara would in a subtle way let everyone know you had your chance but  the queen is home.

I don't know but I just see Liara of course very sweet and loyal  but also very possessive

I don't know about possessive, and honestly, for her to be so introverted, I think she is very, very self confident in her sex appeal. So as a result I can't see her wasting the time to even express concern for the possibility of losing Shepherd. I honestly think she is confident enough to just allude that if she gets Shepherd alone, that is all she needs.

I was wondering that, if the picture scene before the final mission in ME2 was ever expanded, how would you have liked that to go?

I would've loved it if Shepard contacted Liara using the FTL comms, and they'd have had an emotional heart to heart with Shepard promising Liara that he/she would come back alive.

"Goodbye, Shepard. See you again if....when.... you survive the mission. I'll be waiting for you."

Corny, I know. But meh. :)

Well first I know BW would not do it that way but would just crack me up kinda. I do not see her the type to walk up to Jack or Miranda and say flat out say anything it is not her style. in saying that though going through all the things she has done and still doing, joining a crew already estrablished where the females did the mission they did with Shep, being apart for two years and other reasons. This is the only person that could not let shep go emotionally not Ash or Kaedin for the females. Liara is not a meek willed person either for example the only time she had a challenge with another female was Ash and she kinda gave it to Ash but in a calm  but no BS way. I just see it as Liara has the truest form of love of anyone from ME for Shep.

I think she is the type not openly to be rude or anything but also not the type to hide so she will let anyone around know the deal just in a subtle way.

It would definitely be funny. I would crack up myself. You are spot on with the Ashley example though, so now I can suddenly see Liara doing something similar to that. That indeed would be hilarious.

THIS.

I want this! it would definitely have an emotional impact for me and my femsheps (Isn't that what you were aiming for bioware!?) it would give me an personal reason to survive the final mission because someone is waiting for me to come back to them. With the way things ended with the old romances you just feel empty or hurt/confused

I heart Liara, and I HATE what she has become. She was my favorite character along with Wrex from the 1st game. Really wish they did more with her if she was Sheps LI from part 1. The suggestion of talking to her over the FTL comms that someone above suggested is pure gold. Bring her back as part of our team BioWare. Dammit!!! We needs Liara FTW.

I doubt even a fully focused on Liara DLC would give her back to us as a squaddie. The best we can hope, is some serious romantic and character moments amidst all the inevitable pew pew. No love scene or anything like that, but they might at least acknowledge that to have a difficult period in a romantic relationship portrayed, you first have to show that the relationship is still on. With more than the quick kiss and the picture.

What's the point of discussing whether Liara will be a squad mate in ME 3 ? We all know 100% that she will, and her romance sub plot will be amazing, like the other returning members. Bioware promised that much.

P.S. Tali wasn't fan service, her character was easily the best of the current roster in my opinion.

It may be corny but I would have loved that as a bonus for staying loyal, especially so my Shep could acknowledge her feelings for Liara.
