Bioware do indeed have their work cut out for them when it comes to Liara.

What's the point of discussing whether Liara will be a squad mate in ME 3 ? We all know 100% that she will, and her romance sub plot will be amazing, like the other returning members. Bioware promised that much.

P.S. Tali wasn't fan service, her character was easily the best of the current roster in my opinion.

She may have a great character arc in this game but Tali and Garrus (and their romances) are still fan service. They have a very vocal fanbase, I can't even count how many why aren't Tali/Garrus romanceable topics I saw after ME1.

Which is why I am really pushing this thread in particular, and so far we at least have a very vocal fanbase. As long as they give our Liara the attention she deserves, I will be satisfied.

I  think a great final cut scene for the future DLC is only if she is still a LI though but as she walks towards the ship every team member is standing in front of the Normandy and of course Shep a little bit in the front of everyone . Liara walks up a few feet from Shep. Then she gives a look to everyone and it is a little noticeable she looks at the females a tad more though. Liara then has a smile cross her face she then grabs Shep's arm and pulls him close. They start walking into the Normandy with arms around each others waists and as they pass everyone she looks to Shep and says hurry and take me to our new home since we have been apart to long.

It would just kinda crack me up. Liara would in a subtle way let everyone know you had your chance but  the queen is home.

I don't know but I just see Liara of course very sweet and loyal  but also very possessive

I would love that.  Throw in a hot steamy love scene with her after that and we have the perfect ending to the Liara DLC!!

As I said in the other thread, if I have to spend all of ME3 just getting the relationship back on track to where it was at the end of ME1 I would be exceptionally disappointed.  I want this resolved before ME3.

There's the potential for a really great character arc in with Liara as well - they just didn't cover it in ME2. Which is a shame because they really missed a chance for great development with her and it doesn't really make sense for it NOT to be in ME2 to some extent. Unless of course they just want to keep the player in the dark, which is not a good way to go about things.

Also, I agree that spending all of ME3 getting Liara back would feel incredibly fake to me. Hasn't she been waiting for Shepard? Wouldn't they want to talk about that like, immediately?

There is potential there for a great story, they really need to do this.  They obviously forced and cheesy way they handled the ME1 LI's has left a really bad taste in my mouth for ME2 and the trilogy.  When I am spending more time on the forum than I do actually playing the game something is very wrong.

Would rather kill her than anything else actually. Quite a bad character with little dialogue, its only nostalgia why anyone would want her back.

Actually it gets the thread closed, much like gay Shepard.

But hmm.. someone give me a good reason (besides omg she found shepard) why anyone likes Liara? Its true she had little dialogue, its true she looks the same as the other Asari and its true she is one of the least fleshed out, well written characters in ME universe. So why do people like her? Is it some weird fetish?

You are like 3,000 posts behind Tali's combined threads, as well as having less support than nearly all characters.  Giving you one more won't bring her back.

Indeed. As I've said before, her companionship with Shepard in the original game and in Redemption is something that really should be explored upon, Regardless if she was your LI in the original game.

I'm very confident she'll play a prominent role in ME3.

just read back on all 54 pages. Plus I think your Tali has more of an issue with returning in ME3. good luck with that. We already have multiple dev promises that Liara will return, so there goes your sad attempt at both being a troll and a human worth the air you breathe. I crack myself up sometimes... lol

actually my last statement was mean and I won't stoop to your level of pointlessness and stupidity. So again good luck with seeing Tali in ME3 (personally I hope she returns, but if you want to act as if she got one up on Liara you are fooling yourself at best).

Plus children act like you do, so right now it's bedtime for you to say the least, soooo.... nite-nite to you and don't let the bed bugs bite. toodles.

Also whats even more funny is that you think a friggin thread is gonna sway BioWare in one direction anyway. They may give you a tad more on a cameo appearance, but it won't give you half of the things you all are asking for over there. Once again good luck with that. You should be over there typing away trying to get even more attention from the devs instead of us, but I guess that is a little too much on your brain to calculate all at once. One thought at a time, one thought at a time. :P *I'm just being downright cruel now* :P

Jog on you muppet, Liara's got more chance of being a major player in ME3 than Tali.

She's had alot of dialogue, probably the most in the first game, and add in the comic book. And her character is developing,

Also, saying Liara's popularity is some weird fetish and she looks like other members of her species? That's pot calling the fekking kettle black right there.

Okay back on topic, ignore the troll. LesEngantsTerribles I agreew with you that she will have a very prominant role in ME3 and we'll get to get a very satisfying climax to the romance. I'm almost sure of it.

When you found out that the Collectors were what remains of the Protheans, did anyone else think "Damn, I wish Liara were here, she'd want to know this"? Made me wish she was with me even more.

I'd agree that Liara was not that interesting in ME1. I also think that in ME2 Tali plays the same role Liara did in ME1: namely the shy, awkward nerdy girl. It's pandering in a way, but Tali was handled pretty well I think.

My problem with Liara in ME2 is that they made a big change to the character without providing the player enough information for it to be totally believable.  Bioware's got talented writers so it makes me think they are withholding info from the player for dramatic reasons. That's certainly their prerogative, but it's very difficult to do that well in a medium where the player is controlling what questions to ask. It makes the conversation that seem unnatural; it feels contrived.

I actually went back to Liara after that particular revelation to see if I could tell her about it lol. Of course it would not let me. :crying:

I really did and it made me miss her even more (I didn't think that was possible). I really wish they did differently with her in ME2, but I have a hunch we will get a lot more in ME3.

Yeah. In ME, the way she acted when she was on Ilos was one of utter amazement and almost excitement. Imagine how she'd react to hearing about what actually happened to the Protheans?

Sadly I don't think character development is going to be much of a focus in ME3.  We got the reapers to defeat.  I wouldn't be surprised at all if the individual squad members are more or less turned into "red shirts" to focus on "Shepard's Story".  If you pay attention to the few dev comments since launch of ME2 you can see the rhetoric for that already starting to form.

Liara is one of my favourite characters and i'm all for having her back in ME3 (It'll also be interesting to see how she'll react to my new relationship with Tali :P)
