I really did and it made me miss her even more (I didn't think that was possible). I really wish they did differently with her in ME2, but I have a hunch we will get a lot more in ME3.

Sadly I don't think character development is going to be much of a focus in ME3.  We got the reapers to defeat.  I wouldn't be surprised at all if the individual squad members are more or less turned into "red shirts" to focus on "Shepard's Story".  If you pay attention to the few dev comments since launch of ME2 you can see the rhetoric for that already starting to form.

You're right and I don't suspect we'll get new squad mates, I really believe we'll see the same crew from both ME1 and ME2. if anything they may add one or two, but I don;t forsee a whole new squad. According to one of Caseys interviews he said "unfortunately the squad from ME2 may definitely be killed off" or something to that nature where you cannot recruit them. I personally think we'll see Miranda, Jacob, possibly Grunt, Garrus and Mordin return, The others, Tali, Samara, Thane SuZe and Zaeed may not return for story reasons. I say Tali because of the flotilla. I really think she'll see cameo action unfortunately. Thane is dying while SuZe is driven by personal goals as well as Zaeed. Samara will also return to her Justicar duties IMO.

Idk, but there will be people from ME2 I don't think will return.

Actually it gets the thread closed, much like gay Shepard.

But hmm.. someone give me a good reason (besides omg she found shepard) why anyone likes Liara? Its true she had little dialogue, its true she looks the same as the other Asari and its true she is one of the least fleshed out, well written characters in ME universe. So why do people like her? Is it some weird fetish?

You are like 3,000 posts behind Tali's combined threads, as well as having less support than nearly all characters.  Giving you one more won't bring her back.

People like different thing's.  You may as well go ask some one who's wife you do not like why you married that woman, and go on a tirade of all the things that you believe are bad about her.

In ME1 Liara was intelligent, attractive and kind of geeky, all good thing's.  The whole femShep Liara, semi lesbian thing was kind of cool, and I was some what surprised when my wife told me that she was the one she wanted me to romance so it was a win for both of us.  She likes cinematic games like Mass Effect and watches me play.

Now, if you are asking why people still like Liara after ME2 and the deeper character dialog I will tell you what I think at least.  Yes, ME2 dialog was better, but it was also rushed and did not flow with the story as well, its also one of the main reasons why this thread exsists in the first place.

If you go back and read it instead of coming in here and throwing around hate, you would see that much of this is because people are upset at the lack of the romance, or at least any acknowledgement of it in ME2, because they did not give the character what she deserved.

So basicly, of course Liara is going to look bad compared to a lot of the ME2 romances if those character's where your thing, because she was completely ignored and poorly written in this game and its part of the reason so many people are here making posts.

Agreed, I wouldn't be surprised to see a few cameos and a few just not around all together.

There is potential there for a great story, they really need to do this.  They obviously forced and cheesy way they handled the ME1 LI's has left a really bad taste in my mouth for ME2 and the trilogy.  When I am spending more time on the forum than I do actually playing the game something is very wrong.

I am surprised my self that I have been this vocal, I have never posted on any forum, for any thing, this much in my life.

Yes! I even went back to Illium and talked to her again just hoping I could tell her what I'd found. Made me feel like an over exctied child but all I could think was, "Liara would love to know this." I spend most of the gaming wishing I could talk to Liara about things. Like I'd love to pick her brain about Ardat-Yakshi and a ton of other things in the game. But most of all I'd love to see her reaction to Shiala hitting on Shep.

I tried that too and almost cried :crying:
But all this "mean" treatment by BioWare makes me think they have more planned for us Liara lovers in ME3, and hopefully DLC.

Haha, I thought the same. Also, when Gianna Parasini kisses Shep on the cheek, I actually thought "Hey, I already have a girl!" It's especially galling that she does it right under Liara's office!

Yeah that Gianna kiss was quite welcomed until I thought about Liara and the fact that I was literally "inches" away from her office.

As the saying goes "to each his own".

It's doesn't matter why I or anyone else likes Liara. My reasons for liking her are just that, my reasons. I don't care why you like Tali, why someone likes Garrus, Thane, Ash, Miranda, Jake, Kaidan or anyone else. The whole point of games like this is about the individual player and their choices. Obviously there is something about Tali that you like and makes you choose her, it's the same for me with Liara. The only difference (besides the characters we like) is that I don't go trolling in your Tali thread asking why you like her and is it some sort of weird fetish. Every one is entitled to their own opinion. I don't think everyone has to like Liara but I do and I'm glad that she will be back in ME3.

Having over 3,000 posts in the Tali threads and the amount of support for Liara matters very little at this point because Bioware has already made her an important character regardless of her screentime in ME2.

As I was playing a fem!Shep Gianna did not kiss my Shep. I seriously wanted to ask Shiala if she was nuts. She was a follower of Matriarch Benezia and has to know how powerful she was, did she really want to risk making Benezia's daughter mad especially now that she's threatening people left and right? I wish I at least had the option to tell her no because I already have Liara and why would I settle for second best?

I think Bioware should capitalize on her determination and loyalty to Shepard. She fought nearly to the death to recover his body, had to go against her own moral compass and hand his body over because she couldn't accept his loss. Those are powerful character development points to work with, admittedly they are the best ones for any potential romance in the entire game. What Liara potentially has is stronger than just infatuation, it's genuine loyalty and more importantly respect in my opinion. Something only a handful of the other crew have including Garrus, Wrex and Tali.

I hope they do. I miss having an asari that didn't reject you or kill you after sex. I miss those moments. She was funny on how she thought everything she said was going wring and stuff.

Shiala kinda annoyed me. I'm pretty sure that Liara has security cameras all around Illium so it wouldn't surprise me if we had a little "confrontation".

LOL!  What I learned in ME2 is that Shepard is like Asari Catnip.  There's Shiala, the random dancing girl in the VIP section of Afterlife ("I DO wanna' think that!"), and then, of course, Morinth who volunteers for a suicide mission just because she might get the opportunity to Asari!Join Shep to Death.

Except, sadly, for Liara ... who's like "Oh, Shepard.  You're alive.  Meh.  Must Kill Shadow Broker!"  Which is why she must, must be a squadmate in ME3 (getting back on-topic here).  That SO needs fixin'.

Besides - if Liara doesn't join the squad and lay down some serious claim on Catnip Shep, Shep is going to be too busy running from screaming, crying hordes of Asari - a la the Beatles - to actually stop the Reapers in ME3.

Shepard's milkshake brings all the Asari to the yard. Shepard really does seem to the Asari catnip, although when you think about the Asari views on their reproduction and why they view purebloods as bad it makes sense. What better way to improve the Asari than to mate with the Hero of the Citadel?
