Yeah, Liara buttf***ed enemies in ME1. I can't recall a 10th of the times I blasted an enemy out of the air.

Liara made ME1  so easy once you get 1/2 thru the game and give her enough skill points you can just sleep walk thru areas just shooting at the enemies floating in the air. I never even moved when a krogan would charge me and they never touched me because as they got close the would then just float on by.

I don't think it's as glum as some of you seem to think. Liara CANNOT DIE in either game. She is the only character GUARANTEED to survive to ME3. Also, can you imagine NOT having an Asari on your squad? I like Samara, but her Justicar's oath gives her a convenient out. I still feel like she's the most likely character to return.

^^Completely agreed. I may be coming across as annoyingly optimistic, but i've said all along that Liara will have a large role in ME3, along with I believe the surviving Alliance soldier.

I know it's going to be a long and painful wait for ME3, but I feel it's going to be very rewarding in the end.

Ya with Liara the only team memeber in ME1 and 2 never given the option to be killed it is pretty clear she will be a major player in 3. Also considering her getting a big story all to herself with the Shadow Broker.

Okay so I am late with that interview, but I got a positive feeling from it. What positives do they gain from a marketing standpoint if they are lying. I think we are being a tad pessimistic if you ask me.

Just doing my part! I decided to myself that any thread with Liara in the title of I will be keeping my opinions to myself and letting the Liara fans just have at it. I don't think even my shields have the strength to repel a fan onslaught of this magnitude were I to actually express any of my feelings

Uh, already posted on the last page. Sounds to me a lot like the PR stuff they're telling us for years now. And look how it turned out, for example that "love story will continue into Mass Effect 2" bit.

Liara's "bonus power" in ME3 (assuming they keep the ME2 game system as-is, fingers-crossed) should be SmackDown.

Better:Power warp(Warp+Taking down shields).A combined tech/biotic attack that works against all type of enemy protections.Make sense, she have electronics in the first Mass Efect.

Why did everyone get a bad vibe from the interview. I thought it was a very positive confirmation of the conclusion of our favorite LI. At the very least it's a fresh confirmation. Normally that means it is still their plans to finish the LI romance arc. I'm kinda optimistic as a result.

But then again, I am always optimistic which can carry some negatives, but overall it treats me pretty good.

Technically all DLC that comes before ME3 is still part of ME2, so it's still possible to continue in ME2  ^^

Well, they nearly said the same about ME 2. He describes the relationship with Liara in ME 2 as a bit rocky, whereas i would use the term "nonexistent".

Moreover, it seems that Liara will only be romancable in ME 3 if you started that in ME 1. While this is not a problem for me since all my Shep's are in love with her in ME 1, generally that could mean two things

1. She is recruitable but simply not romancable for ME 2/ME 3 Shepard's for an unknwon reason

2. she's not romancable in ME 3 cause she is not recruitable and will only have a cameo and you can explore a bit more personal if you started a romance with her in ME 1.

As much as i would like it to be the former, my fear is it will be the latter. That alone does not have to be a huge concern, if they give her a meaningful cameo with more than a few lines it's not my favorite choice but's it's okay. But after he insists on calling ME 2 a continuation of relationships whereas i see a brief kiss and NO TALK AT ALL about the status of the relationship as no continuation, i fear the continuation and closure they have in mind will not differ that much from ME 2. Which is a real shame actually.

Seem to have a pretty negative day, maybe you can borrow me some of your optimism for a while, i really need it at the moment.

Who knows, i think they have realized that the fans of the ME 1 LI are not happy with how ME 2 played out and decide to do something about it in ME 3, or even better, in a ME 2 dlc (hopefully not just Liara, Ash/Kaidan fans deserve some better closure then too)? I really hope i'm wrong, so i keep my fingers crossed my pessimistic guessing is WAY OFF

*gasp*

Whatever have I done to deserve such a rebuke?

I do say, I am shocked and appalled. Why, my monocle popped right off and in to my earl grey! Here I thought this was supposed to be a fun thread about people voicing their desire to have Liara in ME3. Here I come, keeping my own personal opinions to myself and helping bump this post for Liara fans everywhere and I get naught but hostility?!

Chivalry truly is dead. *sigh*

I agree that this seems to be a positive conformation on the Liara romance for at least ME3. As to what degree, I would think Casey would have dodged the question more if they were not going to put an actual effort into the romance. (Lol, I like how he keeps trying to say female-looking yet asexual, everyone in the game says they reproduce asexually but are mono-gendered. We know the truth Casey!).
I can't see BioWare actually not continuing and concluding the romance in ME3 as they should have already realized their mistake with ME2.
That would be nice if the part about the relationship being rocky in ME2 was really a hint to Liara DLC for ME2. As it is kind of insane to make that statement unless they are actually creating Liara DLC because everyone knows that it is bulls**t to say that there even was a continuation in ME2.
Even BioWare should have seen by now (and beforehand) that there is no mention of the relationship whatsoever by Liara.
Hopefully, we will get our girl Liara back sooner rather than in two years.

Just read the Casey Hudson interview/email. Seems like Liara is going to be something worth looking forward to, and being unfaithful to her will make things difficult to patch up. Bring on the Pitchforks !!

You’ll be able to conclude that story with Liara in Mass Effect 3, though keep in mind that your romances in Mass Effect 3 will have an impact on how that plays out.

Hmm... that does sound to me like a hint that Liara won't be a crew member in ME 3. It would've made sense if he said the romances in ME 2 have an impact, and that was common knowledge so far. But think about it. "Romances in Mass Effect 3 will have an impact on how that plays out." Sounds as if you'll be able to once again have new romances in ME 3, then in the end it will "play out" one way or another with the other LIs. Well, as I said, hopefully we'll get a proper ending at least. That's much more important to me than any love scene or whatever.

This. Exactly what I've been saying all along. People got waaaaay too pessimistic and paranoid.

I'll stick my neck out and say that there will be Liara DLC. Patience, ladies and gents!

I really do agree with this. The signs all point to both Liara DLC and also a great finale to the romance in ME3. Unfortunately for us, only time will really tell.

It would make sense with the interpretation I gave. This is all professional PR today, there's no word randomly chosen. Though mistakes can happen, of course. Just have to wait and see.

Yeah, that's a typo. He means 2, doesn't make any sense what he says if it were 3.
