Can't believe we have to wait till sometime after April for more Liara.
It just isn't the same playing ME2 without her... It feels like the halls of the new Normandy are empty.
But hey, I have convinced myself that it will be worth it in the end because we will have more time with her in DLC.
ME2 definately does feel like you just stopped a reaper side quest.

How many MEs are there going to be if Shepard has to stop each reaper in an individual game? (I guess we only killed a baby reaper this time though).
I got the same feeling. Even with a full Normandy, without Liara it felt desolate. It's like she's a celebrity with me, when she'd in the room, there is a very different feeling. Even when I got to Illium, the walk up the stairway to her office gave me goosebumps. I was so estatic it wasn't even funny.

I was there like an hour ago, I beated the game saved the galaxy and my entire team, so I wanted to go see my Shep's little blue flower, most have looked at her sitting there like 15 minutes.

I soooo did that too, it was funny. I just parked Shepard right at her desk and went and got something to eat and drink, came back starting eating and just watching the screen as if suddenly she would say something... I actually creeped myself out that night. But yeah I frequently visit her to just to take in the eye candy. we are some sad Liara fans! lol

When I heard she was on Illium I searched the internet to see how I could get there quickly.
Liara is the only reason I am emotionally attached to the ME universe.

I know, right? I was half hoping you'd get the option to go tell her. Honestly, the first thing I thought was "What? Protheans? I bet this will get her to join my team!"

The writers can cook up some random excuse for her to not join very easily. "Oh, I can serve your needs much better by digging for information, now that I'm the best in the business. I'd like to join, but I can't." Actually, her ludicrously quick rise to prominence in the field put aside, that would be a better reason than her not joining you in ME2, which was just an obsessive personal desire for revenge.
Y'know, the more I think about how all of the ME1 LI's were handled, the more I feel like part of the problem is that BW assumes Renegade Shep in ME1 for new games.
Renegade Shep really IS a "ends justify the means" kind of person, and the Kaidan/Ashley "I don't trust you now that you're with Cerberus" stuff does kind of make sense from that angle. Renegade Shep could totally buy in to the whole Cerberus thing, and that's a real risk, and K/A are smart enough to see it and call Shep on it. And a darker vengeance-driven Liara also makes more sense with a Renegade Shep (she learned it from watching you!).
I think this whole thing could have been better and less jarring if the reason the ME1 love interest doesn't join Shep in ME2 were different based on the Paragon/Renegade ratio. Kaidan/Ashley: doesn't trust Renegade Shep not to buy into the whole Cerberus "ends justify the means" ethic and is pissed off, and Paragon Shep refuses to take Kaidan/Ashley because Paragon Shep needs someone trustworthy who believes in the Reapers to pick up the slack if Shep doesn't make it back from the Suicide Mission. Liara: is darker from her time with Renegade Shep and really does have a genuine vendetta against the Shadow Broker she just can't drop, while Paragon Shep isn't going to take Liara on a Suicide Mission because Kaidan/Ashley is going to need a non-Cerberus Information Broker if Shep doesn't make it back from the Suicide Mission.
With the addition of the option to, regardless of Paragon/Renegade scale, refuse to take a ME1 LI on a Suicide Mission because, y'know, Shep LOVES them.
And to be more "on topic" for this thread, let me close with: I Really Want Liara As An ME3 Squadmate.

Wow - I feel so much better about the bump in geek factor I get from my Liara Thing.
In ME2, I kept dropping in on Chakwas even when she didn't have anything new to say, because in ME1 I always stopped to chat with her on my way to see Liara. Just bein' polite, y'know. Really, I think that's why Chakwas joined Cerberus: her Shep loyalty all stems from the frequency of Shep's "Hi - how are ya'?" in ME1.
And while we're all making confessions - does anyone else always get all of the Prothean Data Disks when replaying ME1? Because, in their head, something like this happens?
Shepard: Hey, Liara. Got you something.
Liara: *head-tilting adorably-confused look* What is it?
Shepard: *proudly displays disk*
Liara: *expression lights up* Prothean Data! Oh, Shepard! Thank you!
Shepard: Aww, shucks. Tweren't nothin'.
Yes, yes - I know I'm a big dork. No one needs to point that out to me. Thank you.
