Agreed.  Everytime I saved Kaiden on Virmire was so I could see Liara shoot Saren in the head on the Citadel.

For real? I've never seen her do that, it was always the other companion. I just assumed it wasn't in her character.

She'll only do it if you bring Kaiden as the other companion ^^  I happened to bring him with my Adept Bastion character for the extra Stasis

Yup. Liara herself said that there is little difference between her work researching through dig sites and digging up the whereabouts of criminals, except that the latter still smell.

Also, and I'm late in bringing this up, but what the hell happened to Liara's head fringes? o_O Not to mention the sides of her face. Do they explain this change in the comics?

Not just that but her skin is a different tone and eyes seem to be grey (in ME she had blue eyes). Maybe the stress and guilt she's feeling is affecting her pigmentation (or I could be looking too closely).

With the new graphics update, some of the character models didn't hold up too well, so they redid them.

That's interesting. No wonder I never saw it. Perhaps I'll try that in my current playthrough, though I don't like the thought of sacrificing Ashley. :?

Following on from what was discussed before, I did notice the difference in her skin and eye colour, but I never noticed anything different with her head fringes. What am I missing?

Same, now I am curious.

I just don't have the time or patience to go copy out everything speedy111280 has said in the last four pages of this thread and tack on "I agree".  But I do.  For the record, in case anyone is keeping track.

I also want to say that I completely buy into the idea that Liara was able to become a very good, very successful information broker in just two years.  This is the woman who was able to, from freakin' archaeological dig sites, piece together the theory that the Prothean Extinction was caused by some outside agent that purposefully tried to wipe away any trace of its involvement, and that this had happened many times in the past and that the Protheans weren't the first.  She ROCKS at taking seemingly unrelated pieces of information and finding the hidden connections.  That skillset would absolutely translate to information brokering.

More than the adorable awkwardness, this is why I love this character.  I'm a sucker for smart women.
And, yes, the "darkening" of the character is jarring and different - but I don't think it's "out-of-nowhere".  Liara is freakin' TERRIFYING on the battlefield in ME1.  Gosh, I miss her.

There is also the added fact that Liara is the child of a once widely respected and powerful Matriarch, that's going to get her a lot of in roads especially on a planet like Illium.

I remember when I saw her do it I wondered why it wasn't the actual Alliance Military officer in my squad doing it but I could picture Liara doing it with a bit of pleasure since Saren and Sovereign are the reason she had to help kill her mother.

Likewise, I think it's possible to influence Ashley and make her paragon enough so that she's the one who says "Save the Council, sacrifice the Alliance fleet!" and Liara says "Let the Council burn! >:D"

Similarly, it's possible to make Kaiden renegade enough that he says kill the Council, and WREX encourages Shepard to save them.

I've never seen her do this.  Tali is always the one that does it in my games.  Just one more reason to go back to ME1. ^_^

No, it has to do with which place they're in. First squad member is paragon, second is renegade. (or could be flipped, i forget) All the conversations where they pipe up are like that. It's actually stupid, because they'll end up doing things way out of character.

As for Liara, I totally buy her being a good information broker, and enjoying solving the mysteries. I don't see her enjoying the strong-arming people part of the job, etc. I'm sure people try to take advantage of a single lonely asari, even if she has a reputation due to being on Shep's crew/being Shep's lover. Would have been nice to talk to her about it. Or offer to step in and scare the hell out of some fools that aren't paying up.

Lol, I need to play ME1 again to see Liara shoot Saren.
I tried getting her to do it in all my playthroughs but someone else always did it.

Agreed, Shep's Renegade interrupts are much better than Liara's. ;)

No doubt.  I am replaying ME2 (I want the Insanity Achievement, because I have these bizarre uncontrollable completionist tendencies), and I'm just going to imagine Liara doing all of the Renegade Interrupts from now on.  You all have just made this game WAY more entertaining for me.

Liara: *poorly-executed menacing-voice* If you don't tell me what I want to know, I'm going to cut your balls off and sell them to a Krogan!
Shep: *snickering from the other side of the room*
Elias Kelham: *snickering from the interrogation chair*
Liara: *looks up at Shepard* What? *looks down at Elias* What!?
Elias: Aww, you're just so cute!  It's Joram Talid!
Shep: *grins at Liara in a goofy lovesick way* I knew you'd get the info, honey.

Preview of the first six pages of issue 3 of Redemption on this website:

Looks like Liara heads right into the heart of the Shadow Broker's base. Can't wait to see how this ends. The lengths she went to get Shepard back. Oooh, Liara.

Don't be so paranoid, Nozy! It's just a joky off-hand comment.

I actually really like Feron. Nice guy, and he's putting himself on the line too to help Liara and Shepard.

I had the same thought.  He better keep his hands off my girl.
At least Liara appears to still be unaware of own hotness.

One of the many things I love about her.....

Well, it seems pretty obvious he's not coming back from this base, no?
Also probably isn't the first 6 pages - the other previews haven't been.
And the flirtation is in character with how he's been the rest of the time - he's pretty scared of her after all. And she's still obviously very obsessed with Shepard. I don't see how they could work a believable romance into the story with the amount of time left to tell it.

It would be much more interesting if he sacrifices himself because he sees how much Liara cares for Shepard. Also gives the player a good reason to want to hunt down the Shadow Broker as well.

Feron's definitely not coming back from the base.  I'm sure Issue 4 will deal with Liara barely escaping the base with her life, with Shepard's body in tow.   Then, Cerberus (TIM and Miranda) will convince her that giving them the body is the best thing for Shepard.

We can see where her priorities lie.  She makes sure she gets Shepard's body from the SB base, but leaves Feron.
