Yes Tali and Mordin is bright exceptions to the bad writing in ME2.
IIRC both were written by Patrick Weekes.
Hm... Perhaps he can take over Liara in ME3, should Drew continue his absence?

Moving on, I was thinking about this earlier: I remember reading in an interview with one of the developers about how at some point in the trilogy we'll visit Earth. Now I was thinking, it's now almost certain that this will happen in ME3, so are you guys looking forward to taking Liara to Earth in ME3? It'll be so cool and, in some respects, romantic. "Welcome, Liara, to the home planet of my species!" I got a similar sort of feeling in ME1 when I was with Liara on the moon, knowing that humanity's homeworld was so close.
Likewise, I hope we visit Thessia at some point in ME3. Liara can show us around.
Agreed, that would be great.

Sounds good to me, he can't make her worse then what she is in ME2.

I'm hoping Drew comes back if for nothing else than to write the Liara Expansion/DLC and any and all things to do with Liara in ME3.

I want the old Liara back.
Violent and unstable UnLiara of ME2 bad, shy and gentle Liara of ME1 good.
Now we just need a flock of sheep and we too can have this maxim repeated for 725+ pages on our own Liara spam thread.

Both Ash and Liara made me angry in 2.
At least to me Ashley didn't seem to be as glaringly out of character, her dedication to the Alliance was always something really important to her.

I really hope they do have a "save Feron" DLC, because I know Bioware and they'd make it a choice between saving Feron and killing the Shadowbroker. With Liara unaware that it was a choice, you kill the Shadow Broker, feron dies, and all is right in the ME universe.
Unfortuntely the killing the Shadow Broker option would be renegade.

Agreed, while the Ash/Kaidan reunions were not any less disapointing at least they remained in character and had some real emotion in the scenes. Basically the complete opposite of the Liara reunion.

The Tali threads are a monstrosity. I never even go near them. Tali is a great character but the fan devotion puzzles me a bit. /shrug

Right, you also get to hear Shepard being upset about their reunion as well, wheras with Liara Shepard's just like "sure that's fine if you can't come with me because you have to kill the shadow broker..." and "yeah sure I won't press the issue and make you let me help you with this so you can spend some time with me before I have to go on a mission where /i'll probably DIE/" >_<....

Question, (and this may have already come up, so apologies), but both Joker and Kelly comment on your all too brief encounter w/ Ashley (or Kaiden). Why doesn't anyone comment on your encounter w/ Liara? Do they comment and I just missed it? Thanks.
Nope.
It's as if Liara was never part of the crew, or Shepard's lover. I think pretty much only one who mentions her history as a member of your crew, is TIM in the beginning, when you can weakly argue for wanting to recruit your old squad, until TIM pooh poohs such silly thoughts away from poor Shepard's mind with his irrefutable and ironclad arguments.
Yep, and it turns out TIM has false information on Liara. And information is suppose to be "his bussiness".
Not so much false info as clearly lying.
I have to agree. Poof positive that TIM is a dick. I wish there had been an option to call him on it. "You lying sack of sh*t. That quatum whatzit where we can't meet face to face? Good idea, otherwise your head would be up your a** right about now."

Unless you changed Ash's mind about aliens in ME1; then she still reverts to her "don't trust them" in ME2.

Off all the things Shepard SHOULD have been able to call TIM out on and take him to task for that is definitely one of them. There was so much opportunity for real drama there with things like Akuze, Kahoku, the ME1 side missions, experiments on Jack, being turned into a zombie cyborg, etc., that it is hard to imagine why they completely passed it by.

I dunno, without Sheps influence around and possibly believing some new alien race killed your lover I could see Ash easily slipping back into hate mode with aliens.

I know my vanguard would have liked to have a few words with TIM about Akuze.
They ignored many opertunetys for good dialog and conflict between Shepard and TIM thats for sure.

My vanguard would have preferred the /charge + shotgun in the face option... lacking that though a few more -words- with TIM would have been nice. :-P

I always thought we should be able to visit planet Earth some time. In fact, I think it would be the perfect place to have the big finale in ME 3. The place where the fate of the entire galaxy is decided by one man or woman. And of course one of the possible outcomes would have to be: Shepard saves the day, and rides into the sunset with his/her LI. It could really be epic, all ingredients are there to create the best ending(s) of any game, ever. The only thing required is for BioWare to get their act together again, remember their old qualities, and rely on them. Oh, and for EA to allow them to do so... I won't hold my breath, but given the (lack of) competition, they're still our best hope for good video games of this kind.

Of course as much as I wish my vanguard could tell off TIM some more, I would much rather she be able to recruit Liara for her ME2 team. ^^ If I was allowed this I would allow TIM to 'trap' me on at least a few more Collector ships.
Agreed, everything else is just "bleh, who cares" without Liara around.

There is a scene w/ Miranda where you can discuss some past ME1 events and she pretty much defends Cerberus the whole time, though she admits that torturing Jack was a "mistake". However, Akuze is never mentioned except in the beginning if your Shepard is a Sole Survivor. Odd you don't get to react to Miranda, TIM or anyone as that incident defines the character. I can see it as being problematic as it is only one of three options the player. Still, it seems to be a glaring omission, though you do get an email from Tombs about it. <_<
