That would have been a lot better.  I still would have prefered them to at least be on the Normandy even if they absolutely positively couldn't be squadmates, but I can certainly see that as a fair compromise.  They certainly should have had at least as much interaction as any of the new LI's.

I am hoping that someone at BioWare seriously cares about Liara as much as we do and will make sure we get the appropriate continuation of the romance that should have been in ME2 via DLC. Also, I hope that someone makes sure she has a major part in ME3, (hopefully as a squadmate) and we can have the conclusion of the Liara romance that greatly surpasses our expectations.

To actually achieve the Liara romance that we all want, there is no other way but for BioWare to make it up through DLC. As the DLC would fill in all of the holes in the reunion and easily allow BioWare themselves to have Liara as a squadmate and a very important character in ME3.

If they do not put out Liara DLC, I would have an extremely bad feeling about ME3 having an emotional continuation of the Liara romance. (Unless it ME3 is going to be 80+ hours, they just left too much information out of ME2 to even think about doing a good job continuing the romance into ME3).
The only option I can see for BioWare is Liara DLC.

Well, I have calmed down quite a bit, I was in an idiot rage last night for some reason, probably because I was playing ME2 and has just gotten to Ilium.



I think Ilium is one of the places in ME2 where the writing is really good and many of the NPC's you meet and talk to are well represented and it makes you feel like you are back in the origonal Mass Effect, then you get to Liara and get slapped in the face.



I have been getting overly critical of ME2 lately and I apologize, other then not giving good enough reasons for working for Cerberus and the Liara fiasco, most of the other problems in the game are really minor and over all it is a good game.



Any way, thought I would pop in and give another word of support for Liara's character. They need to do her justice in ME3.

I'm pretty sure you can't romance Legion, despite how terrible your face looks, and I'm certain you can't romance a character of the same sex, unlike in the previous Mass Effect or even other BioWare RPGs of late. Hudson didn't tell me why the team opted to not include this option in Mass Effect 2, but he did say that the option will come back in Mass Effect 3 -- if you laid the groundwork for it in the original game.

"In Mass Effect, as a female Commander Shepard you could have a romance with the female-looking yet asexual asari, Liara. That love story will continue into Mass Effect 2 (and Mass Effect 3) if you had started it in the first game, though things will be a bit rocky between you this time around because you’ve been away for two years.  You’ll be able to conclude that story with Liara in Mass Effect 3, though keep in mind that your romances in Mass Effect 3 will have an impact on how that plays out."

 Liara will be in ME3 as a romance.

I wouldn't put any stock in anything said in that interview.  He also says the romance continues into ME2 which it obviously did not.  It'll be another two years now before we actually see if they will let us continue the ME1 romances or not.  The current guess is yes, they will finally bring them back, but considering how ME2 went I wouldn't be betting the farm on it till we hear details.

See this is more the kinda stuff we need in this thread and the Liara group. There is so much crappy stuff going on with the character and with the way she was handled in ME2 we have so few good things to talk about. Its very depressing right now to be a Liara fan. We need more stuff like this, we need some good news and good vibes for the Liara fans.

I wonder if Tali and Liara would get on now seeing as theyve both been screwed over by the shadow broker? that would make for a good joint quest where you have no choice but to bring those two along
