Okay, now it's getting ridiculous, as regards armor.

Everyone's running around in leather or cloth, except for Shepherd, Grunt, Garrus and Tali.

And then I finally got to see what they use when in space:

I'm no expert, but wouldn't this be physically impossible?

Their eyeballs would explode from the pressure difference, their skin would rupture and bleed.
Not to mention that it's freezing, they'd die from cold exposure.

Only Grunt, Wrex and of course Tali have proper all covering helmets.

And for some reason, Grunt's biceps are exposed.

I tried not to question this... considering all of the other things you could question.

most of the game's location is set in hostile environment with dangerous air quality not in open space. seriously you don't see real life astronauts wearing space helmets aboard the ISS do you

Well, in that picture, it was a spaceship voided to space.

Lifesupport is offline and there's nothing to breathe.

Now granted, it would work if it was just lack of oxygen, but actual exposure to vaccum and the cold of space?

Without a hardsuit (like Shepherd's armor), you couldn't realistically enter that environment.

It only bothers me during Tali's side quest.I will only bring squadmates with helmets...It's the Quarian fleet and Miranda just has her hair down hanging allover falling out I doubt they would allow that, but I am wrong...

Maybe they applied mass effect field around the body (produced by the armour or the clothing??), so all they really need is oxygen to survive.

I figured the shield that everyone has could help to keep the body stable, if you consider that the shield is weak enough to allow objects to pass through but not allow atmo to seep out it works still :P

Your skin won't freeze or rupture in space.

Most of the commonly held beliefs about space and vacuums aren't true.

Sorry, but their eyes would not explode, and their skin would not rupture and bleed unless they were close enough to a star and they were burning. However, the fact remains that they should still be covering their eyes and ears, because their eardrums would rupture, and space would get into tears ducts/eyes and cause bad things.

They would, however, die after a couple of minutes from hypothermia. Except maybe inside the collector ship. Or other indoor area's.

I agree, I thought they all had some sort of shield or barrier, the only one is Grunt, because his defense is considered armor, but like the OP said he has a full face helmet.

since 50% of the crew is a biotic... ME 2 barriers are stronger and will keep out <everything> there we go problem solved

That is one of the pet peeves I had about ME2. Even if they are biotics and able to shield their bodies in place of a space suit, they could only hold that for so long before they tire out.

Sure most of the time it's in hostile enviroments, but usually some of that atmosphere is toxic to skin contact as well.

You never truly enter a vacuum in ME2 (with squadmates), just some toxic environments, anywhere that seems to be a vacuum is actually sealed from space by a barrier of some kind, whether biotic or otherwise. Pay close attention and you'll see or hear about them. I'd much rather have true vacuum and everyone with appropriate suits, but they didn't truly make any blunder here.

Thane has a helmet/mask that fully covers his head.

I noticed this too. I was going on quest in a toxic filled environment. There stood Samara and Jacob just chilling with their little masks. I was thinking that nasty GREEN GAS must burn your eyes. lol! It doesn't bother me though. I thought It was cool everyone has a mask to go with their outfit.

However, I found it funny that Samara reminds me of Subzero with her mask. >.>;

I have to say Zaheed's mask is awesome. I wish we could get him to wear it all the time.
