Yea I was little upset with the fact that during some missions when all Miranda had on was her face mask. When I felt like she should have been in a full suit. I just told myself she had some type of Biotic Barrier up. However one of my biggest pet pevs with ME 2 is the very limited armor for your squad mates. One thing I loved about ME 1; was it kind of had this loot bonanza feel to it with some the armor. I would always get so excited when I got some new gear for one of my mains. This is missing completely in ME 2 aside from the minor costumes from the loyalty missions. Also Shepard looks so much more armored and ready to kick some ass than the other characters..Maybe thats intended but...It really distracted me at times and affected my squad mate selection a lot. For matter of fact it got the point where I only used Legion and Tali. Both great characters. I have always liked Tali and Legion is simply cool because he is a Geth. I will say this though. My only complaint for this game is the lack of armor for squad mates. Still the best game I have ever played. Also why did Garrus have look like he had the complete **** beat out of him for the entire game? I felt bad for him lol

You never truly enter a vacuum in ME2 (with squadmates), just some toxic environments, anywhere that seems to be a vacuum is actually sealed from space by a barrier of some kind, whether biotic or otherwise. Pay close attention and you'll see or hear about them. I'd much rather have true vacuum and everyone with appropriate suits, but they didn't truly make any blunder here.

Actually, in the intro Joker isn't wearing a full suit (his arms and neck are exposed), and you drag him outside the pressurised area into the area that's in a vacuum to put him in a escape pod and there's no affect of this... just saying. :)

The point where this really bothered me was the planet where I was wandering through massive clouds of chlorine gas, and all I could think was "Why aren't Miranda's eyes being eaten out by HCl?" Water + chlorine gas = bad.

Yeah, because everyone knows that eyeballs and skin are made from gas. Oh wait...

Water does boil at body temperature in a complete vacuum.

Wait and see, there will be squadmate hardsuits as DLC, at least there better be, I too have a bit of a problem riding into combat with folks that look like their going clubbing.

But I do like that they made fun of themselves a bit in Miranda's loyalty quest!

Okay, now it's getting ridiculous, as regards armor.

Everyone's running around in leather or cloth, except for Shepherd, Grunt, Garrus and Tali.

And then I finally got to see what they use when in space:

I'm no expert, but wouldn't this be physically impossible?

Their eyeballs would explode from the pressure difference, their skin would rupture and bleed.
Not to mention that it's freezing, they'd die from cold exposure.

Only Grunt, Wrex and of course Tali have proper all covering helmets.

And for some reason, Grunt's biceps are exposed.

wth do you know about salarian pyshicology

The corect term would be biology, or something else. Psychology is the study of social behaviors and what not

You'll be surprised to know the reason we bleed when we puncture our skin is the fact our blood (and in extension any of our bodily fluids) are under pressure. Pressure our skin is supposed to be able to hold in. Even with a pressure difference of one measly atmosphere.

You'd need 900% of what you're exposed in space to make a human body explode, and even then the pressure gradient would've to be very high. As in "I'm standing right in front of the airlock that's going to blow" high.
If you don't believe me, google "Byford Dolphin".

With a face mask, surviving in a vacuum isn't impossible, at least if you're not subject to lots of hard radiation.

This is probally off topic.. but another thing that kinda doesn't make sense is when you're doing Legion's loyalty quest he says there's a lack of gravity and air on the station, but yet you still stay firmly planted on the ground... <_<

That one is easy, stick a couple of electromagnetic plates to the bottom of your boots, problem solved. Kill one of the geth with a powerful hit or power and they float away. Kind of cool. You see it in the citadel battle in Mass Effect 1 aswell.

When on board the Quarian Flotilla they should have most defiantly wore full head gear, because in the novel when the humans board the Quarian fleet they have to wear full body environment suit, so why did bioware drop the ball with this one? Their lead writer should have said something he did write the books and ME 1 and 2

Some one wasn't paying attention in ME1, during the attack on the Citadel.

Shepherd issues an order to activate the magnetic boots.

The hardsuits come with electromagnetics in the boot soles to "clamp down" on metal surfaces and not go floating off into space. And when you Lift an enemy in that battle, they spin off into the sky instead of falling.

I assume Geth use a similar system to adhere to metal surfaces.

I loved the concept of "spider walking" up the exterior of the Citadel. In case nobody guessed, Shepherd and the team are actually in a horizontal position.

And yes, the outfits are nice in the Normandy, but really lame when in battle.

yea I have to agree on the Flotilla thing, it totally went against the lore set out in Ascension despite the fact that Tali gave out the correct signal to be welcomed back which is only first reveled in the Ascension novel

Not when it's under pressure. Like, you know, when it's in a sealed enclosed space, like the majority of your body. The lowering of external pressure in a vacuum is not enough to overcome the strength of your skin and internal tissues.

last I checked, the masks didn't cover the eyes and there is surface moisture.

I for one don't think it would feel very good to have the surface of my eyes boil

No one other than shepard ever enters a vacuum.

Everything else is within kinetic barriers.

OP screwed up. Its Garrus, Legion, and Tali that have adequate protection from space.

Grunt has exposed arms. Everyone else doesn't even bother wearing armor.

Maybe technology in the future allows people to go out in space without being harmed. That's what I think they'd use to justify it. I don't really care though, I wish I could toggle helmets on and off though.

Barriers. You see this on the derelict reaper ship. 500kph winds before entering, calm as a nice spring day after. The only ones that wear only face masks are also biotics. Everyone else has a helmet on and they are not biotics.

I read that book about a month before ME2 came out.  I was dissapointed when Shepard didn't put on one of the Quarian's enviro suits.
