Romances meant absolutely nothing in the main game.

I had Tali die accidentally one time in the final mission (when she was the distraction team leader), and Shepard just looked at her and walked off.  I restarted, and Thane died the same way, and Shepard reacted the same way.  Just like in ME1, having a romance with a certain partner seems to mean nothing after that point.  I didn't finish the game to see her coffin in the Normandy, so I can't truly gauge this, however.

Aside from the post-dialogue where she talks about her fever, and "it was totally worth it,"  there was no main-story relevence regarding the romances.  Or was there?
