While I agree it is getting repetitive, people like to express their gaming preferences, there's no need to complain.

i have been debating between the two. in me1 ashley was annoying and ugly compared to liara, but in this game miranda is on par with tali. the only reason i am going with tali is because she was the one i wanted as my li in me1 and she is more likely to be in me3 than miranda.

To each their own. Personally, I never saw Tali as a romance. I saw her as Shep's little sister. I mentioned to my friend what I was thinkinh when Tali started getting touchy-feely...

Well that's an interesting developement that I wasn't aware of (no male characters.)
Still, some people really like Tali. If it wasn't for her, Shepard never would have become a Spectre, let alone stopped Saren.

Honestly, I'm still... stunned... at the massive Tali support. I never frequented the forums that much. I played Mass Effect 1 and loved her to death. I had convinced myself I was going to get with Ashley... but as I played, Tali appealed to me much more and I was disappointed I couldn't romance her.
But because I was here, I thought I was weird and alone. I mean, Liara comes from a race of aliens designed exclusively to be sexy... so fans would jump all over her and Ashley was there for the "normal" people, right?
I'm glad I was wrong. Tali is proof that personality, loyalty, and sincerity trumps looks, sex appeal, and one-night stands.

I always thought of Tali as a more platonic friendship. But in ME2 if you want to continue the dialogue you end up seducing every lady in the galaxy just about.

I liked Ash too! I didn't romance her, but I thought she was a pretty kick butt character and was my partner in slaughtering Geth for a nice portion of the game. So much so, that when I hit Virmire, the only one I trusted to help the STG out and keep them alive was Ashley. And she did.

As a female character the only characters I seem to have been able to be flirty with has been Garrus and Kelly.. I guess I said the wrong things to jacob so that seems to be out and I haven't got any lines to be flirty with Thane yet... I had a line that I thought was kind of flirty wtih Jack but it didn't seem to go anywhere.
I don't remember choosing to have a relationship in Me1 with Kaiden yet his picture is up in my captains quarters so I guess the game assumes I did.
I'll most likely continue a relationship with Garrus just because I really don't want to have to continue a relationship with Kaiden in Me3

While I did go with Tali for the romance I have nothing against the others. In my game's context these people are Shepard's friends, they shared their lives with him and they went through hell together. Tali may draw Shepard to actual love, but he'd never turn his back on the others.
