Its simple, they know Tali, they got her back story in ME1 and fell for her!

These "Tali love" threads/posts been going on for a while now, long before ME2 ever released.

If you noticed, when we get a player who didnt play ME1, they (like you) dont get the Tali love because in ME2 shes just as underdeveloped as a character as the rest of the ME2 cast!
Thats why so many going for Tali, they know her and feel a connection thats carried over from the first game!
If it was Miranda or Tali head up, meeting them both for first time in ME2, Miranda would probably be the more popular choice but Miranda (or Jack) dont stand a chance because of all the backstory and personality Tali had in the first game!

I'll take Tali's cute personality over Miranda's curvy body. And I prefer Tali's accent. I still like Miranda though, my Shepard and her decided to be good friends.

Tali is clearly superior to Miranda. Srsly. But I personally prefer Jack to Miranda, too. Different strokes for different blokes, I say.



But, yeah, there's no way the Tali love will ever truly stop. No point fighting it, dude. Just let the wave flow over you.

I am as sick of the Tali spam as you, OP, but there's no need to make yet another thread about the quarian fetish object. We already have enough of them clogging these forums.

I can only hope the devs learned from the revelation about ME1 LIs and their roles in ME2, and announce the truth about Tali's reduced status early, so we can get over the Internet rage explosion as quickly as possible, and start discussing things about ME3 that actually matter beyond fanservice and catering to the alien dating sim crowd.

I hate Miranda's personality. Tali was an interesting and well developed character. Though the fans are a bit rabid, but i've seen some crazy Garrus fans too.

I love Jack. But that could be because I tend to prefer either naive, socially inept characters like Liara or the tough as nails but underneath are really vulnerable and broken like Jack.

why are you such a douchebag? I understand "I love Tali" threads, I understand "I love Ash" threads and so on. The threads i don't understand are these. what is you Fing problem? does it really irritate you that much that other people have differing opinions? can't you just be satisfied with your own way of doing things?

Tali: A great person, the sort of person you could see yourself being friends with in real life. She is to Mass Effect 2 what Alistair was to Dragon Age.

Miranda: A cold-hearted **** with a heart of pure darkness. She may have looks on her side, but is frankly a huge "no way" just from her personality/xenophobia.

Jack: A good balance of everything. A rough playing tomboy who hates being misunderstood. She can be violent and overbearing, but underneath is a good person.

That's my two cents, anyway.

EDIT: anyway, what I'm saying is there's no reason people should dislike Tali except for superficial reasons. Play the game and try not to be engrossed in her emotions and her personality. She just seems so... real, you know? Oddly enough, the Quarian is ME2's most "human" character.

Tali has been your de facto engineer / drive core maintenance personnel since ME 1 it would seem foolish to face down the reapers without someone who's been with you from the start... but I trust BIoware, whatever they do its normally very good quality

Uhh, yeah, I do? I romanced her on my first playthrough. Wanted to kill myself afterwords. She doesn't care about anyone or anything that isn't in Cerberus' interest, aside from her sister. Does that alone change her personality? No. She's a damn ice-queen.

Because the sad Tali nuts got Bio to spend a bunch of zots on a ridiculous romance plot that makes sense only as fanservice.

Then again, Bio stuck the ridiculous "nuke gun" in all by themselves... but they specifically pointed to the fan reaction on this stuff.

Why, because she doesn't outright say "I care for this crew!"?? In that case, Thane, Grunt, Jack, Samara, etc etc are "ice queens/kings" too. She even resigns from Cerberus and tells Illusive Man to shove it in the end.

I don't think anyone is denying that she's lovable.

I think the point was more that it's a constant stream of "ZOMG TALI WHY CANT WE C HER FACE?!?" or "omg tali 4 evah!!!!"

Me, well, I say carry on with the love just because Bioware needs something positive to read about something that people like. If that's Tali, then fine, that's Tali. Whatever! I love all characters (I'm a writer and can often see the purpose of characters, even if they're not to my tastes I can understand their purpose or why they are they way they are). Honestly, I'd rather take people saying positive things than negative things any day.

Except I'm not so big on the "Tali is awesome everyone else sucks and you suck because you like someone else" mentality. To each their own, no need to diss on others for what they like.

We can only hope, especially since Tali can and will die in a lot of ME2 playthroughs, that her role as a major player in the trilogy is effectively over, and this fanservicey "romance" was a bone thrown to the spam happy Talimancer crowd.

Nah, mostly because of her outrightly expressed disdain for the other crewmembers. Bickering with Jacob. Jack. Mordin. She only resigns because she's your ****. That doesn't make her less xenophobic.
