I'm sick of all this Tali nonsense.

So in other words i want to play "Mass Effect" not the "Tali's Mass Effect". I am not saying anything bad against Tali (her fan club will hunt me down and do terrible things to my person) just there does need to be a balance so that the game does not become all about Tali.

Uhh, yeah, I do? I romanced her on my first playthrough. Wanted to kill myself afterwords. She doesn't care about anyone or anything that isn't in Cerberus' interest, aside from her sister. Does that alone change her personality? No. She's a damn ice-queen.
Why, because she doesn't outright say "I care for this crew!"?? In that case, Thane, Grunt, Jack, Samara, etc etc are "ice queens/kings" too. She even resigns from Cerberus and tells Illusive Man to shove it in the end.
Hey Shinobi. Tell your logic to GTFO. Hahaha.
Miranda is a great character. And like all of the characters grow to bond with your (Sheps) personality. Thane, Jacob, Samara, Jack, Miranda, Tali, etc. All grow to respect and like you...... except Zaeed. Cause he doen't care either way.

I've never seen a more lovable character in a game than Tali. What is wrong with you people?
I don't think anyone is denying that she's lovable.
I think the point was more that it's a constant stream of "ZOMG TALI WHY CANT WE C HER FACE?!?" or "omg tali 4 evah!!!!"
Me, well, I say carry on with the love just because Bioware needs something positive to read about something that people like. If that's Tali, then fine, that's Tali. Whatever! I love all characters (I'm a writer and can often see the purpose of characters, even if they're not to my tastes I can understand their purpose or why they are they way they are). Honestly, I'd rather take people saying positive things than negative things any day.
Except I'm not so big on the "Tali is awesome everyone else sucks and you suck because you like someone else" mentality. To each their own, no need to diss on others for what they like.
A lot of these anti-Talimania threads are from people who say "I don't really care for Tali so why all the madness??"

If people like Miranda because she's hot, I can find no fault with that, but on the personality/emotional level she doesnt even come close to Tali.

Burn her at the stakes for heresy!
Haha jokes. You are allowed in opinion. Don't let anyone talk you down from it. I loved all the characters in this game.

Because the sad Tali nuts got Bio to spend a bunch of zots on a ridiculous romance plot that makes sense only as fanservice.HAGA NAGA wrote...
I understand "I love Tali" threads, I understand "I love Ash" threads and so on. The threads i don't understand are these. what is you Fing problem? does it really irritate you that much that other people have differing opinions?
Then again, Bio stuck the ridiculous "nuke gun" in all by themselves... but they specifically pointed to the fan reaction on this stuff.
If BioWare does in fact cater to fans, it's because the fans appreciate the time investment and developement they've done for a particular situation. Likewise, it also depends on if they intend to develope that situation further. Sometimes they write it in even though it wasn't intended, but that's usually a special circumstance and not the norm.
I know when I worked in the software industry, many times our developement teams would be in stitches over how moronic or irrational people would get when they didn't get their way. Some of them were so excessive we had silly pet names for them which always guaranteed a laugh. There's a fine line between furthering your vision of what you're working on, and actual fan based input. Sometimes they coincide. Most of the time it's just simply coincidence. What I mean by that is gameplay options might be brought about by fan based input. Story options are usually done well in advance. The story's usually completed (and altered a bit here and there) while the game's actually being assembled.
You don't start making a game, and writing the story as you go. Or you end up with something like BattleCruiser 3000 AD, and all the headaches that go with it.

This.
All Miranda is is space-Morrigan, minus all the emotional depth and complexity. I loved Morrigan but Miranda just came off as annoying.

Morrigan was actually clever and made funny comments while she disapproved of you. Miranda just whines.

looking at miranda and saying her character is all looks, just because she has looks, is just as shallow as the type of person you think is drawn to her character.
also, not being able to see tali adds about as much as seeing mirandas good looks do.

I think it honestly comes down to what's more important to you. Personality or looks? Tali is personality incarnate. I could listen to her all night and never be bored. Whereas Miranda has no personality worth mentioning. All she does is go on about how horrible her life was because she was made perfect and rich against her will.
If people like Miranda because she's hot, I can find no fault with that, but on the personality/emotional level she doesnt even come close to Tali.

Incorrect. I didn't look at Miranda and say she's all looks. I listened to Miranda and said "Well at least she has looks."
Entirely different.
