Bioware have made me angry. I downloaded my 2 DLC items from the game downloader and because of the huge size 320MB+ That has cost me almost $80 just for 2 unlocks in game from excess data usage. This is a discrace. There should be some warning that the file is large. I was expecting no more then 10mb per activation item

You went over your "phone bill" and are blaming someone else?

320mb is... well, relatively small, really. I'm not sure what kind of games you're used to, but, uh, modern games are huge. Graphics and audio take up an awful amount of space, and BioWare aren't slacking with either.

If you thought that each dlc would be 10MB then obviously you neglected to research them. Warden's keep is in a new zone, the cinematics alone are higher than 10 megs.

Stop trolling.

My question is... If 320 MB of data is an $80 excess data penalty how long did that take? That sounds like aol level of bs.

$80 for 320 MB seems pretty draconian - maybe you're on one of the cheaper plans that gouge you on overages or you had no choice, but I'd sooner blame your ISP for being so stingy than a game offering a reasonably sized DLC pack.

And I thought the ISPs here were bad...

I remember when I played Falcon F-16 or Test Drive, from a 320KB floppy diskette... heck... 1.4MB floppy disk drives were not available... large hard drives had 100MB capacity...

Guess that 320MB for a time when HD can have over 2,000,000 MB is really small =)

PS.: Forgot to say... find a better ISP or get a better plan ... it's not  2.4kbps modem age anymore too...

I suggest you talk to your ISP about getting a shaped account. But I agree that it would be good to know the size of the download before the DLC starts downloading. I'm still waiting for my copy of the game, so I'm not sure how the updater works. Is there any option to pause or stop a download?

Dude, I pay $180 / month (cable + HD + DVR + HBO) and 8 mbps dl speed. No download limit. I thought I was getting violated. Your ISP takes the cake though. I've never heard of such a ridiculous thing!

I don't care the
size of the game. I have a monthly download quota of 200MB/month as I
am at work and won't be home till monday, Bigpond charge 25cent/MB
excess. I had 35MB left before I got the Download content.

Yeah I have mobile 3G internet modem for when I am away at work. It costs $15/month for 200MB with excess at 0.25c per meg. Thats why I bought retail so I didn't have to download anything.

300 megabytes is nothing at all for dlc. What did you expect 5 megs? Where does the voice acting go? Textures? Meshes?. Why would you even download it when you have such a tiny limit! Your own fault 100%.

As Sam Kinison would have said, "move to where the internet is!" Per MB overage charges? Man, you're getting screwed royally, switch ISPs now or move to a country with real internet access, like Finland. Broadband is a legal right there! :)

It lists file size on the list of available content when you click the item. If you did it over 3g why did you even download them instead of waiting till you left work and went home? You said you bought retail so you didn't have to download anything.

I pay around $33 a month, in a "third world" country for 3MBps d/l speed, 20 GB transfer limit which has not overcharge for exceess but "slower speed till end of month" contract and it is never applied...
My stats for last month: download: 48.3 GB upload: 47.9 GB

Get a better ISP or plan because yours really really sux!

Dude call you ISP right now and drop them, 200MB/month is ****ing bull****, i cant even get a download cap that small from my ISP, and .25$ per MB over your limit, ass monkeys.  For comparison my plan has a monthly download cap of 80GB, I pay about $45 CAD a month for it (6mbs), not the best plan but it works.  Seriously dude stop blaming bioware for your inability to pick a good plan from your ISP.

side note: At first I thought you were trolling but no troll would post this piece of **** plan.

There's your issue. Don't use 3G for anything other than serfing. Especially don't download with a 200MB limit in the age of 8mb/s internet.

It cost you because you assumed something you shouldn't have.

? Bro Story DLC are always 300+ get out of your shack and stop crying.

Thats not true. With DOW2 there was barely any download to unlock the special bonus items it was installed with the dvd.

So you are saying that the voice acting and texture are not installed from the dvd?

Please read my second post in this thread as I have already stated that is my internet I have when I am away from home at work. usually 5-10 days at a time. I have 280GB limit with my home internet.

I didn't want to wait 4 days to play this awesome game
