I have never used sten in my recent playthroughs and i dont know how to build him to be the tank and also be able to dish out just enough damage. A Level building format would be nice (specializations to), but you don't have to, Dont want to over work you guys on my problem. Please and thank you:)

You have 2 options. One would be relying on weapon switching. Use his initial 2handed talents with a 2handed weapon to dish out damage and start leveling him as SnS-tank as soon as you get him. The second option would be aiming for a really high dex dual-wielder. Whirlwind and Dual-Weapon Sweep are good for generating aggro on multiple targets while damaging them at the same time. And if you are lucky enough, your dex might atually allow you to survive the aggro.
Personally, I would not try to tank without a shield (or a body made of crystal-covered rock), but it might work.

If Sten is kept as a 2handed, he is neither gonna have a higher def nor higher armor than a SnS. You can try building as a cc/dpser with 2-handed sweeps and superiority war cry so as to lessen the need for a tank role.

I'd say if you want to tank with a 2H warrior, get just enough str for the armor you want to wear (alternatively get str between 40-50), 20-30 Will, and the rest in Dex. You could pad Con with 5-10 extra points if it makes 'you' feel better but Con is not a requirement.

To build a 2handed Sten tank this way, you will making significant tradeoffs in the cc/dps department for def.

2H tanks require a little more babysitting from a mage but if you have Wynne, or Morrigan specced to heal you don't really have to do anything special to make Sten viable. 2h Sweep, and Stunning Blows go a long way towards slowing down incoming dps.

Morrigan and my MC.
Morrigan through's Glyph's /Winter's Grasp/CoC/Crushing Prison/Drain Life etc, and I usually just go around finishing the enemies that aren't Frozen/Paralyzed, and take no damage, then comeback to those guys and finish them off. The Broodmother took 2 tries [ the first try i messed up cause i got grabbed, and morrigan couldn't tank the shreiks]. But it was a fun match nonetheless, Played 4 hours straight had to stop to get some food >_>. Fun times

^ Willpower for a Sten tank shd not be an issue unless Sten has heavy talent-usage, which he shd not as he is dex-heavy. Going dex-heavy for a 2hander sounds very... unconventional. Too bad there isnt any 2handed daggers. With indomitable, you can be immune to stuns and knockdowns but can still be flanked where enemies atking from sides/behind will gain atk bonuses. This will be a little counterproductive to the addtional def Sten gets.

Yes, ha ha ha, I do unconventional things!

You could try the Griffon's beak/ helm set that stops the damage bonus from flanking attacks, you have to get right to the landsmeet to get the helm though.
