* slightly increased attack, defense, and damage scores for all party members at Normal difficulty
with this, no need to play on normal.
I wonder how much this affects gameplay... I like old normal dificulty, it wasnt very hard and it wasnt easy either
I hope it isnt too easy now, I like to think in battles. For those whiners casual games: play on easy, If you cant play on harder dificulty then play easy, no need to change game dificulty because some thinks they are good on harder dificulties but cant handle...
btw game is awsome, dont ruin it

Oh come on. It was certainly a stupid bug, not being able to import CC character, but it took 5 mins to start the CC and write down the number of 'clicks' from the left each slider bar was set to and then recreate.I don't believe this patch is "skippable for now" some of us were facing the total re-creation of characters we made in the CC, and the wasting of innumberable hours trying to re-create them

Why not just patch in new difficulty levels and give the people complaining the option to switch. No need to punish those who where enjoying the difficulty they picked.

If you can't launch the game no matter what (not even by clicking on daorigins.exe), update Visual C++ to the latest version: http://www.microsoft...ckInfoContainer
The bug with the game explorer in win 7/Vista is caused by daoriginsgdf.dll, as they seem to have changed something in there (possibly the application ID) , and game explorer no longer recognizes it. Just use the shortcut in your start menu to launch the game.
If your DLC is not working, I'd suggest deleting (or renaming) profiles.dat in ...\\My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings, so that it can be recreated. If it still doesn't work, make a backup of the entire folder in "My Documents", and then delete everything but DragonAge.ini, KeyBindings.ini, and your characters folder. Then launch the game and re-download the DLC's. Everything should now be working.
Other than that, I haven't found any other bugs.

***WARNING****
A lot of people are starting to report Bugs with this patch ***NOT BEING ABLE TO START GAME*** look in the Tech Help forums...Sorry Im not patching until A REAL patch comes out to address REAL issues.
Thanks for the warning, but wow, the decision to install the patch just became a lot more COMPLEX. Are you saying the issues addressed by the patch are IMAGINARY? They sound quite REAL to me.

Clarification: The patch works fine (at least for me). I'm using a Direct2Drive download of the DAO:DDE. Note: the patch DID break my shortcut in the "games" folder, and the copy of said shortcut I had on my desktop, I simply went to the Program Files\\\\\\\\Dragon Age directory and make a shortcut to "DAOriginsLauncher.exe" and run the game from that. At least for me, that fixed my inabilty to start the game. Clicking the shortcuts basically did nothing at all. That may end up needing a small micro-patch to fix it. Edit:
(...)
Same here, after I applied the patch, I can no longer launch the game using Windows 7 Games Explorer. Launching manually works just fine.
