I'd have to see the context of that to judge, but yeah, it does look quite out of character and badly written. Not really that surprising given the eteherogeneous plethora of writers (some of which bad) that are put to work on most american comics nowadays...

I highly doubt the concept of someone using exclusively renegade or paragon choices to represent a logically structured behavior pattern has ever been intended.  Even if it were, the idea that anyone adheres to even their own normal behavior patterns at all times is absurd.  I suggest you stop trying to view all renegade choices as a structered perspective, and realize they are meant to flavor a character.  Impulsive acts of aggression seldom utilize logical reasoning prior to their execution (hence why they are impulsive and not thought out).

She acted like Geraldo, and was treated like Geraldo.  If you anger individuals who have a predisposition for violence (renegade Shpeard certainly is this, and even paragon can easily qualify), you should anticipate violence as a possible (or even probable) outcome.  Perhaps it shocked you that a renegade interrupt would be an emotionally fueled act of aggression, but I don't think many people were all that surprised.  Based on her response, the reporter was less shocked than you were (seems to me she was well aware of the possibility, and even hoping for something to occur).

Also, I don't feel attacking the camera would not adequately fulfill the renegade perspective.  If you consider the motivation was essentially impulsive vengeance, then assuming an attack on the camera requires restraint (something an impulsive action lacks).  Hitting her face is a direct attack on something of obvious value to her.  Though I chose the paragon route, I'd be lying if I didn't say I can understand the renegade interrupts behavior.

Feeling it is an issue because it was a woman and not Geraldo means you need to work on your understanding of the term "equality".  If you don't feel gender is an issue, then the thread title is inappropriate.

I know what you meant, but punching the annoying reporter is a common movie-cliché for the exact type of character that Renegade represents. Punching a women is definitely a bad thing. But it's an option, and Renegade Shepard is not the kindest person in the 'Verse. Anyways, your idea of shooting/braking the camera... it would play out better, I admit.

Sexism is when one person does somthing because that person is either female or male

in the game Shepard punched her because shes trying to stir things up.

I find it oddly telling that someone's upset about punching a female reporter, but noone even brings up all the civilians that die when you decide to chase the merc leader in Zaeed's loyalty mission or dozens of similar situations. Because they happen offscreen you feel more comfortable?
