People who think men and women are equally in ability in everything have their head up their ***es. I wouldn't hit a woman because that would just be an unnecessarily brutal display of douchebaggery due to the fact I could easily overpower any woman I met. It doesn't matter, anyone who displays hints of realism and chivalry is passed off as a chauvinist these days.

Well...yeah

Suggesting that women are weak, physically inferior, and need to be protected by men comes across as pretty sexist, surprisingly enough.

There's plenty of guys in the game that have just as small a chance against you as the reporter does.
Gender isn't a big part of the equation when you're pitting someone who is combat trained against someone who isn't.

Hitting women is wrong, yeah...  because hitting people in general is wrong.

Of course. No one should hit women, but at the same time, women shouldn't bulldoze through whatever issues without fear of reprisal just because the opposition has a dangling genitalia and hers is fixed firmly between her legs.

Bulldoze? She asked questions. That's hardly "bulldoze". If someone asks you some difficult questions and you lack the smarts to talk back, then maybe you should consider a good corner for sulking.

You're mistaken.

I for one paragon'd through both the interviews. You don't seem to realize these are optional choices you're making. Unlike you, who DID hit her, I didn't.

And another thing. It's fairly obvious she's out to tarnish your reputation. Admiral Hackett tells you so in the first game, if you've played it. That's why Shepard realizes, or at least my Shepard realizes that she's a douche. Nevertheless; I showed her up with my knowledge of cities.

Hitting people is wrong.

Hitting weaker people is even more wrong.

Hitting weaker people that are not physically threatening you is even more wrong.

Women are generally physically weaker and generally weigh less (ever thought on the reason why there are weight classes in boxing? It's not just because it's hard to get people of different sizes on camrera you know?) than men.

Do your math.

And? She's still not physically threatening you. Self defence works only when you use comparable means. She's talking and you're punching. Result: You're a douche and put yourself in the wrong with your own hands.

Not sexism, realism. Do any sort of empirical study into the matter and there is no possible way you could ever come to the conclusion that women are on par with men in physical ability.

Generally, as in a generalization.

Generalizations aimed at social groups are called stereotypes.

It is based on gender, therefore, it is a gender stereotype.

This is known as sexism.

Well OP you seem to be the only person who cares about this. Probably best to let it go now.

Naw I'm just kidding of course you aren't going to let it go. This is REALLY IMPORTANT to you.

No I'm not. I just specifically stated that I DID not hit her, unlike yourself.

I'm starting to think you have serious reading comprehension issues or that you're seriously just trolling now.

'Cuz you're wrong.

Too bad that sexism has nothing to do with advocating differences in physical strenght, but with advocating differences in ability which is in a whole different meaning. If you go to any organization for women's rights and you try upholding physical equality between women and men you're going to be laughed at.

It's a simple matter of statistics.

You might want to lay off on the selective reading. While the douches discounting hitting women seem to be the majority, there also seem to be quite a bit of people that do care.

It was a generic "you". Of course I used the interrupt because I, for once, hoped that the character would have done the logical (as much as aggressive) thing to do, which would be somehow disabling the camera. Just as of course I immediately reloaded and overruled that idiotic outcome.

I punched her, but it was by accident, I didn't think she would be punched in the face. It was funny though, kind of like pay-back, because I let her off easy in ME1.

Sexism includes all things involving the two sexes and judgments involving the perceived disparities between them.

Sorry, you don't get to just exclude things from the defintion at your convenience.

After skimming through this thread it seems like you spent more than half of it trashing someone else in some way or another. Entertainment.

Can't wait to punch a reporter in ME3.

"the belief or attitude that one gender or sex is inferior to, less competent, or less valuable than the other"

"attitudes or behavior based on traditional stereotypes of sexual roles."

"The belief that one sex  is naturally superior to the other"

It's actually the standard definition.

Sorry but you don't get to decide the meaning of a definition at your convenience.
"Sexism, a term coined in the mid-20th century, is the belief or attitude that one gender or sex is inferior to, less competent, or less valuable than the other."

I see no mention  of Physical difference. That's called "realism".

"attitudes or behavior based on traditional stereotypes of sexual roles."

The fact that men and women have a natural difference in body build is not a stereotype. It's reality.

"The belief that one sex  is naturally superior to the other"

"Superiority" has nothing to do with physical build.

lokiarchetype correct me if i am wrong but are you saying that to not hit a girl is being sexist?

If that is indeed the case then I would be one of the biggest because not only do I not hit girls I often beat up the ones that do hit them!

You know assuming that just because she's a woman that she can't take a punch in the mouth is extremely sexist and while you think you are Captain-Save-A-Hoe, mister OP, you are actually perpetuating sexism and the oppression of woman by making this post and crying about a woman being punched in the mouth.

It's 2010. The sexes are equal now. Woman deserve a punch in the mouth when they ****** on people just like men do. Because men and woman are equal.

Comment WIN!

Ok I'm going to break this down for you, but I feel it might be wasted.

1) Saying men are generally stronger does not imply that women are "inferior to, less competent, or less valuable."

2) Strength is not a "role" it is a characteristic therefore your second definition does not apply.

3) Increased strength does not make one gender superior to the other, it means one gender is stronger than the other, period.

Honestly if you cannot look at two things and note the differences you are unfit to perform the most simple tasks. If I'm a sexists for saying men are stronger than women than so be it. I'd rather be a realist and a sexist than just an idiot.

He's saying that treating a woman differently on the basis that she's female, is sexist. Which is correct.

Superiority can refer to numerous things

Like intelligence, strength, athletic ability.

Superior Strength aka physical build.
