No, no problem at all. Actually, I'm male, play as male Shepard, can punch a woman and don't feel bad about it either.

That being said, I did that mostly for the lulz, to try various dialogue options. I generally dislike Renegade options, though this particular one was great.

If punching the reporter is "bad" why does it matter what gender it is? it was a defenseless reporter, it being a woman makes it no more "wrong".

Like many of the comments made here, I believe that although it is "wrong" to hit a person for verbal abuse especially when it's that easy to just walk away. The matter of the person being male or female does not matter, like many have said, a women can take a punch just as good as a man and have fought for the right to be treated as equals for many years which includes the good and the bad. To think that a women should not be struck in the face solely on the fact that she is female is very sexist.



I respected this debate when I first looked at this topic however, after reading further in. I too noticed that your whistling faces and the way you respond to people have a tone to them that suggests you are looking for more of an argument and less of a respectable debate.

Keep in mind this is all in the context of the fact that she said she was going to stir up controversy over the fact she got punched, it's just that it doesn't matter, because things like public perception and arbitrary morals have a very negligible impact on Shepard's actions

Like a great deal of other guys I learned as a child that it was unacceptable to hit a woman ever, for any circumstance. I won't argue as to whether or not it is sexist, I simply believe that some aspects of chivalry (or whatever gentlemanly equivalent you prefer) are worth preserving.

How about "never hit anybody, ever"? That wouldn't be an exactly bad principle. But I damn well would punch a woman who tries to stab me, for example; chivalry is something equated with suicidal stupidity far too often.

Incidentally, why people don't complain when Shepard kills women regularly, including for Renegade some who can't even fight back?
