So anyone ever completed NG+ on Insanity? While i'm willing to try, i don't want to do something impossible. After all, it's the Shep i'm intending to use in the sequel, so i'm not planning to scrap him

Use Cain.

Finding enough ammo for the Cain becomes problematic after some time. Best to save it for stuff like the Colossus.

The Avalache helped in Jack's recruitment mission though.

Recruiting Tali/Samara/Thane at the moment. Horizon's dual Scions was the only ludicrously frustrating part so far.

I'm doing NG+ with an infiltrator on insanity right now. What's the big deal with doing NG+ on insanity versus a regular new game on insanity?

Looooooool. How do you die at that part? You just sit in the cover you start at and pop off shots, the scion can't hit you if you're in cover there. Also you do not know how to play if you're whining about easy stuff like that.

You know another way to get the Insanity achievement? Do share.

if your goal in life is to get the insanity achievement and you won't rest until you get it, then I feel sorry for you :P

I started NG+ with my Vanguard but quickly became immensely frustrated. Redoing the same part of the game 50+ times because of cheap deaths (squadmates making ridiculous decisions and dying, global cooldowns making it harder, running out of thermal clips, infinitely respawning enemies it seems) well it's just NOT fun.

Restarted with a Lv1 soldier and it's going ok so far. I hate this playthrough because Council/Wrex are default dead and I hate that they made my favourite class (vanguard) such a nightmare to play as on harder difficulties.

Tbh it feels like by the time I struggle through to the end, I will hate the game so much I won't ever want to play it again - it's just that frustrating.

The difference between NG+ and regular insanity appears to mainly be the enemy scaling. Since you start out at level 30 on a NG+ without all your weapons upgrades, it would be harder than starting at level 1 (since your weapons would still be doing roughly the same damage).

Um... the Scion's Shockwave attack goes right through cover. Just like Shepard's and Jack's.

What game are you playing?

NG+ is...? Importing or using the same character you already beat ME2 with, imported or not?

1. First Platform Lands - Kill Harbinger and all collectors, ignore the Scion.

2. Second Platform Lands - Get Cover on First Platform, on the side the Scion is Rotating.

3. Kill Second Platform Spawns and Harbinger.

4. Kill One Scion when it comes into view. (Note, from Cover on the First Platform, the Scions -CAN NOT- hit you unless you stand up.

5. Third Platform Lands, stay where you are on the First Platform. Kill Harbinger and Collecters as they funnel across the platforms to you.

6. Finish off the last Scion.

7. Done.

Yes, yes it really does. You may want to revisit that area.

I mean come on. You don't even know what NG+ is, and you think you know how Scions behave on NG+ Insanity?

Probably the fact that you're starting around lvl 30, and so do the enemy's. I'm not 100% sure myself that it's harder, but it's what people keep saying.
I also started a new ME2 game on insanity, though, and i got the impression that the Lokis were far easier to kill

As a soldier on my second playthrough I used warp ammo as my bonus power with Moridin and Miranda. I started at level 30 and had trouble until I got upgrades. As the game progressed it got easier. Warp ammo rips through barriers and armor. Combined with incinerate and warp from your teammates collectors even Harbinger are a joke. Adrenaline rush with the lmg destroys things closing in on you. And Miranda has overload for shielded enemies. Even without overload my lmg tore their shields off rather easily.

For scions on the collector ships kill them first by using Adrenaline rush and your sniper rifle while using warp and incinerate. On the reaper ship when your getting swarmed by husks and a scion you can run back pretty far killing all the husks before the scion even catches up to you. And if its just husks you can run in a big circle using adrenaline rush in barely get touched as you tear them up. As for heavy weapons I used the collector beam to rip praetorians apart when they gained barrier. Just run from cover to cover as it closes in on you as your team destroys it. Hope this helps.

It does, -if- the scion chooses to shoot, the position of cover we are referring to is at a difference of elevation extreme enough that when the Scion's platform stands still long enough for him to attack, he can not see you, so he does not fire, the only times when the Scion can see you is when his platform is moving, and he will not shoot then.
At all times the top of his hump is visible for you to shoot at.

I don't even want to think about taking on a Praetorian on Insanity. Talk about a ridiculously overpowered enemy.

Why the hell would I even comment on this if I wasn't playing insanity? Don't be mad because you all suck at this game and have to whine at anything that poses a challenge on insanity.

The Praetorian in Horizon was laughably easy. Just had to keep circling around one of the crate-loaded trucks firing at whichever half of it's body was visible at the time.

That's fine for some Scions I suppose (will have to test). I was talking about the dual Scion fight in Horizon though.

Pretty much all essentially flat ground there. It fires right through the crates when you're behind them.

Why would you go from Normal to Insanity? That just seems illogical. I started on Veteran and that was pretty tough while I was getting used to the new combat system and have been working my way up.

If you're referring to the horizon fight, yes the shockwave goes through cover only when they get to a certain distance (very close). I don't know why anyone would sit in cover on that fight though, at least on insanity, which is the only thing I've played so far so I can't comment on the lower difficulties.

You dont have to be hugging the crate to use it as cover. You can back up off the crate and sidestep out to shoot the scions. Their attack has a range limit.

You can't be serious. It does this even on normal.

But everone sucks at Insanity, that's why we get hit through cover. Your logic is flawless.

It has a range limit? Because it goes from one side of the Horizon area to the other for me; just like Shepard's.

MagicianCamille wrote...

Because the only time I play on difficulties other than 'realistic' (where enemy/ally damage/health is equal) is if there's a reward for doing so.

I have no desire to replay this more than nessisary. The oversized GUI drives me nuts.
