I have installed and registered my copy of ME2. Everything seems to run and I started a new game with no problems using a new character.
However I want to bring in my original character from ME1 since it does have a big impact on the game story... However, ME2 does not see nor find my character. YES I have used the config tool to tell it to point to the ME1 save game dir. That is all that does though.. then in game nothing shows up to select when I try to start a new game with the ME1 character.
Ideas?

I am having the same problem, i completed the game twice and neither game is showing up on the import screen.

Have you tried to manual copy the save games from ME1 to ME2?

You mean we have to have a character that finished ME 1 first before we can port him in? Crap... would have been nice had they told us this before some of us uninstalled the first game... That means I have to play the whole thing again just to be able to take advantage of the trilogy storyline thread...
The other thing that irks me is the size of the bonus stuff for download.. I have only a dialup connection.. there is no freaking way I can download almost 600 meg of stuff for the add-on. I wish people would start waking up.. 90% of the world still does not have broadband even here in the U.S. Half the websites I visit take 20-30 minutes to load and now all these games are coming out where we have to have internet connections just to get the full enjoyment of the game.
Oh well nuff ranting.. between not being to port a ME1 char and stuff my mood to play just went out the window anyhow.
