I can just picture you when you're NOT playing a Computer RPG.

"Boss, I'm tired of all this dialogue, I don't like talking to the customers anymore, I quit"

"Blah, blah, blah, why can't I just spam the X button and get this over with, I don't CARE how your day went MOM"

"Why won't anyone go out with me! I hate the Romance option in my life!"

"I wish I could just SHOOT everything and not talk to ANYONE!!!"

If you're looking for combat with a bare-bones plot and sparse dialogue, I think you know of some of the games I could recommend.

Oh and again, by the way... NOTHING is killing Mass Effect 2. What is with this preconceived notion that all the retards are infusing themselves with...

Wow.  Funny reading this right after reading someone arguing ME2 is more of an RPG than ME1.  Yeah... I'm real glad Bioware expanded the target audience for this game.  For ME3, they ought to just cut the entire story and all that ****ty dialogue, and go straight to a frakking shoot fest.  Who cares about story?   Maybe for ME3, they can include a home lobotomy kit for those of us who still have some frontal lobe activity.

For the last time. I DO LIKE DIALOGUE and CUT-SCENES. The question is has BW gone overboard with these features in ME 2 at the expense of combat. How HARD is it to follow the discussion?

You continue to insult and assume that anyone who doesn't fully agree with you is "lazy" or stupid.

As it seems you're having a hard time following the discussion yourself- or at least, the replies to your posts- the following question:

"Has BioWare gone overboard with these features in ME 2 at the expense of combat?"

Has the following answer:

"No."

Is that clear enough for you?

Edit:  Actually, I could still very well be a "dip****", but I find your response somewhat surprising as, from reading your posts, it would seem we agree... And I know you're hardly a paragon of forum protocol and politeness from gems like this, "did you ingest anything mind altering before posting such a worthless, misdirected post?"  Anyway... whatever.. I don't play Mass Effect for the combat, I play it for the awsomly delivered story and interesting plot.

Remove the story focus and ME would become yet another mindless shooter, we have too many of those already.

OP, The difference is you can X-button through the dialogue, or shorten them by going directly to the meat and bones of the plot. You can't just skip through the combat. If you like the combat, skip the dialogue, and get right to the shooting.

So... DO NOT, ask for them to limit the dialogue for people who like it. DO NOT, ask for them to take out the romance features,

Just skip the fricken dialogue if you don't like so much of it.

You seriously must have a severe comprehension problem. If you took the time to actually read my posts instead of trying to flamebait you will see that, until you and your fanboy mates arrived, I was very willing to read and reflect on what was being written. I even agreed with what was being proposed by some people and disagreed with others opinions. That is what is called a debate. If you do not have the maturity to understand that in a debate people are going to take different sides to an observed opinion then please go back to your threads lauding BW, and your imaginary world where we all get along and everyone agrees with everyone. In short grow up and actually READ what has already been written instead of trying to troll. You have not even tried to engage with any of the arguments, rather you simply make false accusations and juvenile responses.

To the OP:

Right, because after completely getting rid of the inventory management, weapon cooldown periods, and long mako rides, ME is STILL not actioney enough! We should remove all dialogue all together, put the main character in a suit of body armor with mirrored glass for a visor, totally obscuring their face. And just have an entire game of shooting random aliens with no plot whatsoever!

While they are at it, why dont they name the third one "Halo 3: The Citadel Wars."

Not at all. If you want I will be happy to provide the statistics that show that the cut-scenes and dialogues are longer than the combat component of this game. The bulk of the dialogue with each character is geared towards romance, depending of the sex of the PC.

The fact that DA:O, a real RPG, has more combat than cut-scenes and dialogue points towards romance being the main problem with ME.

It would be hilarious if you liked MGS4, which appearently has like 10 hours of cutscenes.

too much Romance ? what the !? no one even forces you to romance anyone if you dont have to, and even the romancin is pretty lame, you talk to person everynow and then and say what he/she would propably like to hear, then she/he says, I will go to bed with you when we are flying to last battle... also the dialogue is part of the game, if you wanna go play shooter like this I suggest the closest you can get is Gears of War

So I have just finished the game. I will admit that it was a good game but not great. The main problem I have with this game is that there is more cut-scenes and dialogue than there is combat. In fact it feels like the VIDEO GAME is the exact opposite of most games I play, in so far as the dialogue outweights the action 3:1. Usually, for a VIDEO GAME, the action outweights the dialogue 3:1. Take DA:O as a good example of a good ratio for a VIDEO GAME.

When I first heard that the game would have 2 disc for the Xbox I was genuinely excited. Here I was thinking that that would mean oddles and oddles of combat. I mistakenly assumed this because I thought I was buying a VIDEO GAME. However, to my disappointment what I got was little more than a SOAP OPERA in space.

To say that the developers focused on the ROMANCE instead of the COMBAT in this game is a gross understatement. That is all this game, and I use the word GAME very loosely, is. To think of the potential that ME universe has as a VIDEO GAME the mind boggles as to why it is wasted on ROMANCE! Surely those who want this much ROMANCE in a game can find other games more suitable, like SIMS 3 for example.

For me, ROMANCE is killing ME. ME 2 is just plain boring when it comes to playing a VIDEO GAME. I might as well watch a movie because a VIDEO GAME ME 2 is not!  It is instead a SOAP OPERA and BSG is a much better experience than ME will ever be if you want a SOAP OPERA in space.

So, to the devs. Please ignore all the nerd-rage and give us back a VIDEO GAME for ME 3 not a SOAP OPERA. Some of us do have a life and don't need to live vicariously through a VIDEO GAME playing house. I, foe one, would much prefer the developers concentrated on COMBAT instead of pandering to the demands of the noisy minority who, for some strange reason, think its fun to play a game that is little more than a SOAP OPERA!

That's the problem with starting a thread with an ill-considered post. Most folks aren't going to bother reading past it; they'll just deliver a drive-by slam and move on. I'm only reading the thread myself because I enjoy watching people get what they deserve.

I half think this guy is just talking out of his butt and looking to get a rise out of people who actually play RPGs.

Wait, what did I say? RPG? Really? You know, those things with hours of dialogue, decisions, and such? Seriously, are you just an idiot?

I dont know what you were expecting from this game, but I for one am glad you were dissapointed.

Wait, are you complaining that the amount of combat isn't enough?

I mean, the combat is much more fun than in ME2 and I actually thought it was too much, I mean, some of the missions in ME2 turned out to be "go here, kill X, go there", well the earlier ones like Jack and Mordin's recruitment missions. It got better by the end but if anything, ME2 has just a big too much combat, IMO, where some could be easly transfered into more optional uncharted worlds, and rather than spending whole missions fighting, there could be more dialogue and side quests and maybe even a puzzle or two.

You know you are right. What was I thinking. Two minute side-missions with thirty seconds of combat on insanity level, yes that is too much combat. Or, main missions with 8 minutes worth of dialogue and cut-scenes and only 3.25 minutes of combat on insanity. Yes, this game has too much combat. I think that BW should cut out combat in ME 3 COMPLETELY and just make it one long cut-scene interspersed with dialogue options. Now that would make this game a REAL rpg, for REAL rpg fans.

I can say with some degree of certainty that those statistics don't exist, for 2 reasons:

1:  No way to obtain them.
2: If it is true, there's no statistics as there's no variability.  Maybe you should take a basic statistics course sometime?  Or psychology, so that you'd know no human behaviour is that constant?

Not true on both counts. And, that is only one example of well over one hundred references to the statistical data that can be found on cyber bullying. There is plenty of quantitative and qualitative data on cyber bullying. Its one of the most research fields for the past two years at my department where I go to Uni. You never know this thread itself may be a research experiment.
