They're all useful in their own situations. Garrus or Jack overall, I suppose.

I usually go Grunt and Tali.

Everyone's equally useful. Everyone has special situations they excell at.

My default team ended up being Tali & Jack. If there was a substitution, it usually was for personality/plot/variety reasons.

I bring Samara on most of my missions, the other one varies. Exceptions are mech heavy missions (when known in advance), then I bring Garrus & Tali.

But on usual missions... Samara, and then whomever seems to fit, though often it ends up being Thane.

I prefer Miranda. She has overload and warp. Which is awesome for my Infiltrator. Plus, her class skill increases everyone's health and damage. Pure win.

Honestly, if this was ME1 Id say Ashley and Wrex. But in ME2, each squad member has something to give in the battle field. Its all about choosing the right gun for the right job.

Actually yeah, I stick by the fact that it's situational, but if I had to pick a squaddie that is useful in the largest number of situations it would definitely be Miranda.

Grunt. His durability, and charging are always very useful to me.

Jack for her shockwave.

Zaeed Messani is the best combat wise. His fully upgraded grenade attack is an absolute killer...too bad that as a bonus on my PC that same power upgraded in that exact same way is completely worthless.

I liked all of them saved for Mordin and Jacob. I found Jacob's talents to be poor and Mordin died too often in my playthroughs.

It depends on my class and the situation, unfortunately. However, I find Miranda to be the most useful/well-rounded.

Miranda is always useful since she can handle any sort of enemy protection. Plus her passive skill buffs the rest of the party, which is a definite plus.

Miranda is great because she can go after any kind of defense. Morinth's ability to control organics is cool and more useful than AI hacking. Samara's reave is also pretty cool, and also more useful than Tali's analagous skill. I like Jack because shockwave is a great skill for dealing with annoying hordes of small, defenseless creatures and warp ammo is pretty neat.

Miranda unfortunately. (Don't like her personality, but I take her a fair bit anyway.)

Pretty situational. I prefer everyone with a Sniper Rifle though. There is some win in unlimited ammo after all

Tali as my companion and bodyguard, harassing enemies with the drone.

Miranda as my sniper spotter.

Her damage bonus, assassination cloak and the Widow. :) Pure win.

Hmmmm i would have to say grunt, but its a hard choice between Grunt and Legion, if they both have all of their upgrades? Grunt, hands down.

Miranda always (amazing passive skill), then Garrus or Grunt. I have had poor luck with biotics in ME2.

This. I pair her with Samara for double ownage. Best combo I made for my infiltrator on hardcore. Game got so much easier with those two.

Miranda is pretty amazing overload and warp. Garrus is also very good. I like to bring mordin and Legion for fun though.
