Am i wrong for feeling that way?

Yes.

why?

Because, by staking your entire Mass effect experience on the romances, you have dismissed the incredible amount of work that the developers as a whole have put into this game as irrelevant and beneath your notice. You have dismissed years of dedication to the production of an amazing game as a triviality.

You are wrong for so casually dismissing the rest of the game as trivial for a small, optional portion of the game.

Your arrogance astounds me.

Will you ever answer any of my points?

The fact that I'm answering you with a counterpoint is 'Krogan Rage'? Never mind that I saw you complimenting a poster's insightful logic and thought process before I initially left...

...For agreeing with you, of course.

and btw, the "Krogan Rage" isn't based on the fact that you answered me with a counterpoint it's the whole "You're Damn right I'm opposed to it!!!" crap. just cool off and i won't throw "Krogan Rage" comments your way, it's mild in comparison.

I would like to see this scene that is causing all the fuss, I guess I should keep playing my female Shepard.

Keep in mind that the same steps that it took to go from Tali in ME1 to Maleshep romance in ME2 could bring Femshep relationship in ME2 to Femshep romance in ME3. In fact, less, as they are now extremely close. The question appears to be solely, "do the fans want it?", given how it turned out last time.

What about gay men and Garrus?

What about it? The build up with that relationship was much more abrupt. It was basically Shephard saying casually, "want to do it?".  The build up with Tali was much more drawn out, and some of it went to Femsheps, and the same lines with the safe inflection apparently contribute to physical intimacy in one case and platonic friendship in another (directed more at Krogan Avatar guy with that).

I'm personally not against it though, I wouldn't even use the term gay men. We haven't seen any Turian women, what if they look more masculine to humans than the male Turians do? Would he still be gay? Beats me, I wouldn't use the terms.

Maybe has something to do with you hinging enjoyment of a game upon a virtual romance? Just a thought.

you seem pretty worked up over it too, or did i miss something? and i might add that your tantrums are based on my ME romance experience rather than your own.

You fail to realize that there are millions of gamers out there who want more Mass Effect content. Judging from the lukewarm positive reaction to this thread, the overwhelming majority of them do not give a varren's ass about romances, or more specifically, what was or wasn't included. Your incessant complaining that Bioware is somehow responsible to you and your small posse, and that they should spend some of the time that they could use for meaningful downloadable content that has actual meaning on changing the game because it isn't the way you want it.

And before you go "ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS ADD DIALOGUE", well, they have to change the core experience instead of just adding on features, which is something that would take some work to do without breaking the game. So, no, it isn't that simple, and it's nothing that warrants that much of a response from them anyway.

I say once more:

If you're hell-bent on it, role-play as a gay Shepard who hits on straight people and is unsurprisingly rejected.

Not that difficult.

Unless you're telling me, in real life, you've gone up to women, flirted with them, and they always enter a romance with you, even if you know they've dated nothing but guys before?

I mean come on, Chained Creator. i made a silly comment that obviously isn't true. think of it as a metaphor of sorts. obviously, i like the game for any number of reasons.  i was trying to express how important it was to me and went a tad overboard IF YOU TAKE IT LITERALLY.

seriously? THIS is what you're going to "dig" out and throw in my face? fine

ok, Chained Creator. I redact my statement that "I staked my whole Mass Effect experience on the hope that Tali would be romanceable with my Femshep". It was an overexaggeration on my part used to make a point, but i still love the ME games and enjoy the vast amount of content that is there beyond "Romance Options". and i mean it, ok? geez

Wonderful!

That gives me the time to work on my second ME2 run get to the point where she says the exact same things to a male Shepard as get-to-know-you conversation, before a marked change to romantic dialogue.

Can't wait.

I agree with OP. Tali teases you on way to much for there not to be anything between them. Its disapointing having her build you up so much then just drop it. :'(

If this were a more scientifically accurate setting I would agree but I think Mass Effect goes with the paradigm that women and men of the varying species have similar personality and emotional traits we associate with humanity.  Meaning that psychologically they could be considered heterosexual and homosexual, excluding the asari who are just weird fan service to begin with.

Metaphor- a figure of speech in which a term or phrase is applied to something to
which it is not literally applicable in order to suggest a resemblance,
as in “A mighty fortress is our God.”

So everything you say isn't true and is a metaphor...? So we shouldn't take what you say literally, ok.

I know, I know, you're just worried that I'm going to point out the obvious: There is no romantic conversation, or even pre-romance, between a female Shepard and Tali. Then you'll just insist that the way she said the word, I don't know, "suit" or maybe "the" was JUST suggestive enough to mean that she was envisioning jumping Shepard's bones.

I really do think it's a case of hearing what you want to hear.  But without seeing that scene I really don't know.

As I said before people are taking the hug on the Alarai as evidence of some budding romance despite the fact it is just a paragon interrupt to console an obviously distraught friend and comrade.

A hug that takes place after she finds her dead father.

I really don't see any romance in that all for male or female Shepards.

Projecting. That's what's going on here.

That was one of the things that I was quite flustered with in the original Tali-mance threads -- everyone was going on about how this line or that line and the way she said it made it OBVIOUS that she was attracted to Shepard. I think everyone pretty much agrees at this point that she sounded like a kid, maybe a teenager, who saw a hero in Shepard.

I actually never picked up anything romantic from ME1 other than she thought my Shepard was cool for giving her that data.

But that's the thing: Some people did.

That is EXACTLY what is going on here.
