No, because I'll bring up new points and facts to support my side of this debate. Everyone opposed to me is just like "lulz you're homophobic" and ignores me, goes another page and says something else stupid or inane which I address. I tend to avoid supposition without evidence... and if that means I have to say more than "TALI SHOULD BE ROMANCEABLE FOR FEMSHEP BECAUSE I LOVE HER" in a post, well, so be it. I'm not going to dumb myself down; I'll just continue to stack up the counterargumentation until I receive proper rebuttal.

I think HAGA NAGA may have left you a bit jaded. Most people on the pro-FemShep/Talimance side have contributed more than that to the argument.

I actually wanted the Femshep/Tali romance, but apparently romance is optional and has nothing to do with the story says HAGA NAGA. So it shouldn't matter? The only reason I don't REALLY want it anymore is because it wouldn't fit with the story. Imagine a lesbian Quarian, it would mess up the story now that I think about it. How would the Flotilla react? Bioware would have to redesign the game if they were to add it through a DLC like HAGA NAGA said.

Red herring.

Naltair's and my argument isn't about how they are oriented, it is about modifying orientation because you decided you'd rather be gay this round.

RPG this may be, that still doesn't mean we should stop people getting pissed about being decked in the jaw, Quarians reacting negatively to a live Geth on their ship, or yes, characters changing orientation at will like those African frogs that change gender as neccessary.

but the change won't affect your game. unless you decide to romance Tali with a femshep. Hell bioware could have already done it and you wouldnt notice.

But you slide into the territory of saying that they SHOULD have done it just because they COULD.

And I have made it quite clear that I was relieved upon finding out that Samara was NOT romanceable, much to the dismay of a number of fanboys, because her character and history dictated it quite clearly. Following your model, though, you are saying that I should have been fine with people romancing an esteemed, honorable warrior-monk lady with three genetic freaks for daughters, one of which psychopathic and muderous, with no real REASON to romance her other than because she was an Asari and Asari can do the dirty with anyone.

And no, I would not have been fine with that.

But everything Tali does is the same, her dialogue her animation etc. the only difference is kelly? so maybe kelly is just xenophobic and doesn't want you with tali.

You claiming Kelly is xenophobic makes me wonder if you are just grasping for straws.

Well, actually, I think my roommate wants to go to sleep, so while I meant to play more ME2, I suppose I'll have to follow suit.

Is sleep productive...?

I won't lie I was glad she was not an option either it really would have made the asari the fan service species, and it served to deepen her character and resolve more so.

I was actually poking fun at how kelly can see the exact same series of events yet interperet them differently dependant on shepards gender...it was a joke.

Dude. Kelly totally holds back on telling Femshep that Tali is interested for her own purposes! ugh. now i hate Kelly as much as Naltair & KittyKrogan.

Gotcha, well she does the same for Garrus and female Shepard which tells me she is there to let the player know that there is an interest there.  I am glad you hate me HAGA NAGA it seems sort of one sided since I have no strong feelings against you at all, but go for it.

Kelly tells MaleShep Tali has a crush on him, you don't know that if you play female first. My FemShep was interesting in being more than just friends from ME1 on. Or so I thought.
As I see it, talking to Tali has build up expectations for some, including me. (I exclude that hug, then again you can hug Kelly and from that more can develop if the player desires.) If BioWare let Jack turn you down, who is probably bi, why not allow the same procedure for Tali. That would have been a nicely clean cut.

I have a question would this thread exist if there was no ambiguity, or would it still exist because BioWare got it wrong and she should be regardless?

I guessed as much, just seems a little lazy on biowares part [yes i know how much effort goes into a single game pls stop sending me hate mail when i call bioware lazy, its a figure of speech] , i mean you can understand why ppl think Tali is interested no matter what gender, how she talks, acts etc seems more geared towards a male shep.

Actually you could choose to look at it in a different way. Say Tali is made a F/F romance option in ME3. Perhaps she was afraid of her feelings for FemShep because there is a stigma against quarian homosexuality due to their diminished population. A cross-species romance may not be considered strange because Tali sees Shepard as a fellow sentient as opposed to a human. But he is a sentient male. Perhaps putting the F/F romance off until ME3 could be justified by Tali needing the additional time to sort through her feelings.

Just a speculative theory, but just as valid as any other.

I see your point but she does tell you about Garrus right, I am not just making this up, I have not played my female Shepard all that much.

She seems to be pretty spot on with the romances when you pick up new people besides the obvious Miranda and Jacob.

That is fine, but HAGA NAGA wants it in a DLC now, which could mess up the game.

I am not against you overall cause just your method of fixing it. If it will happen then it may happen in ME3, there is no hot fix or DLC coming but you can hold to that dream and if it happens I will be the first to congratulate you. I just don't see it.

But I don't see the "hidden attraction" either so I may just be oblivious.

You seem to have an us versus them mentality. I don't see it that way, I have a risk versus reward mentality, and I just don't see the payoff for BioWare to make a substantial change like this so soon after the game launched.

On top of that the decision on who the same sex relationships should or could be is a touchy subject and one I think would only start more whining posts unless it was done with a new character/characters or to all equitably.

The latter destroying any credibility in the ME universe.

We all have different breaking points, I should be more precise with my words, it destroys the credibility of the individual characters if they want every gender equally, since we know in real life that is not the case.  The game stops being a role playing game with choices and starts to edge into dating/sex simulator with alien species.

This isn't the case the romances exist to enhance the experience not replace it.

Arara,
don't try to make us believe that you were at one time pro-Femshep/Tali, that's just silly considering your consistantly negative posts in here. you give yourself away too obviously as an enemy of the thread from the moment you arrived.

anyway, to address your ridiculous comment about "Oh MY!, how would the FLotilla deal with a LESBIAN amungst its people!!!!!!!"  You could just as easily say, "How could the Flotilla deal with a Quarian interloping with a human" (actually that would make a lot more sense). perhaps it is you that has the problem with Lesbians and not the Flotilla afterall. hmmm?

I personally find the DLC thing insulting. What, I'm supposed to pay extra for being gay? F*** that noise.
I'm upset that they pulled it from the game. I would be furious if they turned around and said " Now you can have it for an extra eight dollars LOL"
