The game stops being a role playing game with choices and starts to edge into dating/sex simulator with alien species.

lol, i thought that before it was released, the shooting just their to give us a break from the "ROMANCE" :o

edit: [nostalgic look on face] I remember the first time i noticed romance in a bioware game, it was Kotor, and the uptight Bastilla gave in to my playfull flirting and we kissed ....now it seems every single bioware game has to have a sexual relationship [sigh] <_< i mean i know you dont have to, but if its an achievement i have to earn it.

Heh considering how much shooting there is before any romance can even really start, since you need their Loyalty first, you were doing a ton of shooting before any kind of romancing.

But yes my girlfriend jokes the same away about how 'fervent' some of the posters are in these threads about the LIs. Calling this game a dating sim.

No, because I'll bring up new points and facts to support my side of this debate. Everyone opposed to me is just like "lulz you're homophobic" and ignores me, goes another page and says something else stupid or inane which I address. I tend to avoid supposition without evidence... and if that means I have to say more than "TALI SHOULD BE ROMANCEABLE FOR FEMSHEP BECAUSE I LOVE HER" in a post, well, so be it. I'm not going to dumb myself down; I'll just continue to stack up the counterargumentation until I receive proper rebuttal.

I think HAGA NAGA may have left you a bit jaded. Most people on the pro-FemShep/Talimance side have contributed more than that to the argument.

I actually wanted the Femshep/Tali romance, but apparently romance is optional and has nothing to do with the story says HAGA NAGA. So it shouldn't matter? The only reason I don't REALLY want it anymore is because it wouldn't fit with the story. Imagine a lesbian Quarian, it would mess up the story now that I think about it. How would the Flotilla react? Bioware would have to redesign the game if they were to add it through a DLC like HAGA NAGA said.

I'm not sure I understand you. First, its possible Tali gets exiled and wouldn't care a bit what the Flotilla thinks.

Second, even if she didn't, don't you think the Flotilla would be a bit more disappointed that one of their best decided to go off with an Alien, regardless of gender? Either way she's not bringing back more Quarians.

Third, Quarians seem to be ready and willing to compensate for their lack of physical contact or in certain cases, lack of being allowed to have kids. That whole "nerve stimulator" ad-on? Every reasonable adult has them? Same-sex relationships are historically more common on Earth at least in areas where "normal" male-female intimacy is in some way limited, not surprisingly.

That isn't of course a reason for Tali being more "open-minded", but for Quarians in general.

[Kelly] does tell you about Garrus right, I am not just making this up, I have not played my female Shepard all that much.

She seems to be pretty spot on with the romances when you pick up new people besides the obvious Miranda and Jacob.

I didn't question that, but she is only right when she is supposed to be.

Naltair wrote...

I have a question would this thread
exist if there was no ambiguity, or would it still exist because
BioWare got it wrong and she should be regardless?

Short answer: NO
Long
answer: I think screwing up a close friendship between two female
characters is almost inevitable if either is controlled by a male.

Arara,
don't try to make us believe that you were at one time pro-Femshep/Tali, that's just silly considering your consistantly negative posts in here. you give yourself away too obviously as an enemy of the thread from the moment you arrived.

anyway, to address your ridiculous comment about "Oh MY!, how would the FLotilla deal with a LESBIAN amungst its people!!!!!!!"  You could just as easily say, "How could the Flotilla deal with a Quarian interloping with a human" (actually that would make a lot more sense). perhaps it is you that has the problem with Lesbians and not the Flotilla afterall. hmmm?

Now you're insulting me again? I LOVE Tali, and my character is a female Shepard I always have Tali and Garrus in my group because I love them both <3. And the Flotilla doesn't care if Quarians mess around with humans, I mean, what about the Quarian at Ilium that dated a human?

I want Tali as a romance option in ME3 for sure, but not in a DLC, in a DLC, I want missions and more story, not a remake of a scene.

To be honest I think the asari-female Shepard relationship was created with the thought that any guys that play a female will prefer to see a female in their love scene. I am sure it benefited actual lesbian women but this is what my gut tells me.

I personally find the DLC thing insulting. What, I'm supposed to pay extra for being gay? F*** that noise.
I'm upset that they pulled it from the game. I would be furious if they turned around and said " Now you can have it for an extra eight dollars LOL"

that's no joke! and trust that if Ararara is speaking about me she is bold-face lieing her teeth off about things i said. she continues to misrepresent me and make herself a fool, which i'm sure is obvious. whatever though.  the thread is "intact" you can always read it instead of her BS.

Since you asked she is amused by it, I have been sick this whole week or I would be doing something else.  I actually tell her much of my forum adventures we are internet people and we enjoy it.  I do think some people are rather fervent and I may appear to be as well but I would not participate in this conversation if I did not find it's implications interesting.

I have to agree, or a brand new character/characters that are bisexual and end all this debate.  You don't get Tali but you get your choice.

Ok, that would not sit well at all with me. I'm not arguing from a general perspective, but a specific one. I don't care if everyone is straight or if everyone swings both ways. All I care about is how they handled Tali, and it doesn't seem like she was handled well.

No problem she probably hates me for talking about it all the time but she has resigned herself that Commander Shepard and the ME universe is just one of my things, like Pokemon is for her.  I never got into it myself but she loves it and other DS games like that.  She feels the game has too much talking actually and I love it, so we have very different tastes when it comes to gaming.

What would you consider handling Tali, well?   She seems to be developed as much as any other relationship in ME2 if not more so given her appearance in ME1 as well.

As am I, but its a show of support for homosexual romances in a more broad sense. However, as much as I hate myself for it, I would doubtlessly buy such DLC in an instant, despite my offense.

I can agree there without first hand knowledge of the ambiguities.

Just don't promote the hug... the hug is dumb.  I am not saying you as the person I quoted just in general.

Remember, if you don't agree with the OP, it means you're part of a global oppressive conspiracy to make their life (specifically, THEIR LIFE) miserable.
