I don't know. Apparently someone actually found voiceover files of Femshep talking (to Mordin) about her love to Tali. Give it some time, and someone will probably find the romance voiceovers as well.
As far as I'm concerned, judging from what little is known now, Tali was actually planned as being bi, as was Thane. Until BioWare decided to censor it that is. Which is not really understandable, given that F/F romances are included in a lot of BioWare games.

It definitely seems planned, all the dialog files are marked for a second Shephard (as in reserved for the female voice over), they're just empty. There was more to the conversation about suit-syncing that got cut, and that was about the end of it. No recording for the 4th or 5th conversation or cabin scene.

Interesting about Mordin though, I'll dig through those next.

I agree it seems like it was scrapped for odd reasons, reasons I'd love to hear about.

EDIT: Bah, page skipping.

 Well, here.

Not sure how much of a bump this will end up being, but I said I'd post it.

Starting about 7:30 is the suit-syncing conversation with a few extra pieces that aren't in the game. Other than that, every single line can be directed at a Female Shephard, and even the ones that aren't fit seamlessly with the missing Jennifer Hale lines.

Tali: "It is our most important gesture of trust and acceptance."

blah blah blah "I don't feel that way", Shep says.

A-HA! You say. WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO MAKE HER SAY THAT SHE DOES!

... except she goes on to say "You don't have to prove anything to me."

Then, Shepard mentions "I don't want to risk your health" -- JUST LIKE MALESHEP, RIGHT?

Well... what they chat about before that is different from the Male's run, and then Tali tries to explain the TRADITION to Shepard. Shepard asks about the intimacy of it (quite clearly implying romantic intimacy), then notices that Tali is blushing, which to me signifies that Tali is embarrassed about explaining a Quarian tradition in a way that implies something. This is furthered by Tali hurriedly saying that "it's not always like that".

TL;DR, Shepard is just saying she trusts Tali as much as Tali trusts her. Tali perceives your probing for information as coming onto her, AND REJECTS IT.

So, back to what I said before: Continue to roleplay ME2 as a lesbian Shepard who has feelings for someone who is straight, but who doesn't feel the same way.

I don't think that compilation indicates any kind of continuity. I think it just goes through all the options.

I'm not bi/gay or anything i'm straight Femshep is nicer to stare at than man shep i'll be honest that was my reasoning for playing her in numero uno but yes i too was hoping for this option with Tali and my 3 or so femsheps. after seeing all the romanceable characters Garrus and Tali were the only decent ones i thought of so it was Garrus or Tali i figured i'd do my Origin run MaleShepard as i always do an RPG as me before fooling about with it. Ran with tali liked her romance option so much i wanted it with one of my femsheps and to my dismay no?!

seriously though no?! a little cute cutscene that ends with the main character being tackled as if though pounced on by a thresher maw and No Femshep tali option?

needless to say i don't find playing as Fem Shep fun anymore. The turian is too Brotherly to do that again with and Thane too emo. Jacob is New carth 2.5 (lacks traditional carth voice) so no....that leaves the other female options who aren't romanceable...Femshep is best solo unless you are a Garrus Fangirl who is the equivelant of a tali fanboy

I like Garrus just fine obviously from teh sig i have he's pretty damn awesome but not in a i want to jump my best buds bones way. Tali is just too cute to not be irresistable. and it was depressing and unnatural feeling playing as fem shep.

So now i'm running thorugh ME 1 as a Male Shep adept probably paragon, idk yet still on citadel, and i have to run through everything just so i can leave my Origin file untouched and pristine, and not worry about screwing the snapshot up for ME 3 just to do another Tali Romance in ME 2 with another infiltrator or maybe vangaurd this time.

But yes i feel your pain slightly. It was a massive let down.

edit: However if it were stated tali is straight and not left open to interpretation i'd be fine with it for story. Garrus is an awkward relationship though for a warning funny but he's not into the interspecies thing seemingly. And understandably so.

Yeah, that part you're referring to is a sequence of the lower right choice, then the paragon choice, then the neutral choice.

I agree though it seems she's going back and forth, trying to back off and getting flustered at the same time. I can see how she's trying to tell Shephard she didn't mean it that way, but then says its really hot in here, or if you straight out reject her she's hurt/offended...its very confusing.

Of course, that bit of speculation was useless on my part since apparently there was already implicit evidence a Femshep/Tali romance was in the works. Femshep has a line in Mordin's dialog files about how to proceed with Tali and wants the good Doctor's advice.

Not that that means anything, either. Just that it was in the works and then got stopped in an abrupt and ill-explained manner.

Necromancy go!
Don't let this die, show Bioware we want them to add the arc they had planned to include.
