I want the romance to become a big part of the story. I want it to become an actual relationship with pros (love, commitment) and cons (weak spot / opportunity for your enemies, etc).
That would be awesome, indeed. I always wished it had a stronger impact in the game, other than just a romance on the side.

The best buildup in ME2 would have to be Miranda and Jack's because there was both some conversation and a brief makeout/romp involved before the main event. I'll actually go as so far as to say that those two characters had a better buildup than Kaidan, Liara, and Ashley had.
Anyway make the ME3 romance scenes intense (the kind of action you see in an r rated movie). Make the buildup big: pour on more dialogue, add several more quests to each romance, and add some more 1st or 2nd base kisses/hugs before the big love scene in the third act. And again, that third act "event"? Treat it like art and how r rated movies portray love/sex scenes.

you've yet to hear those three magic words yet.
"I Love You"
would be a very cool way to end your love interests in Mass Effect 3.
LI in one and in two would be the start of those, the third part would be the end.

This, so totally this. Not to mention Miranda was an awesome squad member to take on missions. Slam is amazing.
And Warp, and Overload, and class bonus which increases team health.
Seriously, I also hope they let us continue with Miranda as LI. She gave the metaphorical finger to TIM for my Shepard and it was a great feeling.

Do you people seriously see Shepard as the type of man/woman that will settle down, have lots of children and build a house with a picket fence ?
No. My Shepard is going to spend the rest of her days demolishing crime syndicates with Garrus, her one true love. The only way they're having kids is if they pick up an orphan along the way. (Because, as we all know, Garrus is Space Batman.) When they start getting old, they'll 'retire' to the Citadel to work for C-Sec.
Oh hell yes! They're Batman and Catwoman, but with more smiles.

You're right, Warp, Overload, and Slam plus team health bonus is an excellent combination. I take her with me all the time.
Lol, I loved pissing him off. "Miranda, stop him!"
Ahh gotta love her, she was just "Shove it *****, I'm with him now" haha

Whilst everyone is welcome to show a little bit of otaku in their adoration for fictional characters, this sort of thing makes me lose just a little bit more faith in humanity.
Also, for everyone saying "cheated on their LI", you were (presumed) dead for 2 years, and your LI told you where to go on Horizon. Eh, I don't think any commitments (not that any were made officially) are expected to be honoured after 2 years of death.

Hopefully the romance is expanded, and fleshed out more. I want to see a real relationship build, and not just sex.
Agree, seems to be a trend in BW games, dod what you need to do to get them in bed and then just forget about the relationship.
Have you ever played DAO aqnd romanced Leliana or Alistair?
Yes I have, and once you get them into bed there isn't much else except for being able to go back and have another sexy time scene.

No one said there had to be setteling down and kids involved, no reason shep and their LI can't go off adventuring together, finding comfort in eachothers arms every night.

The final chapter to the shepard saga. Will your love be with you in the end as a true relationship, or will your naughty ways make them leave you. See bioware said straight up. If you cheat their will be bad effects in the next game and that goes for both LI in ME and ME 2, so yeah everything your saying they already said would happen. Go to ign.com and watch the interviews. Trust me it will put your fears to rest. They are paying attention. hehe
With the way they treated ME1 LI's in this game, I don't think it would be out of this realm for said bad consequence to simply be an e-mail from your LI saying they no you cheated and it's over, and that be it....

It's only been a blink of an eye for Shep, so I think the point is that shep should still ahve strong feelings for their LI regardless of how long it's been and there should be the hope that once everything is done with the collectors and you are no longer working for Cerberus that they will want to get back together with you.

Yeah no one is suggesting that I think. Although I suppose some peoples' Shepards would be happy to settle down. Depends on how you see your Shepard.
Mine is a spacer and a bit of a workaholic. And Ash is a career woman too. They work that way. I don't really see marriage or kids in their future, but I guess you never know.

I would love to see a softer side to my goodie goodie femshep concerning romances. The way she responded to seeing Kaidan was a bit off and annoying. After two chapters of ME I know she's a tough girl already, a hero, a badass but she's still a woman, come on, some emotional 'flaws' would be lovely. No human being can go on like she does without cracking even the slightest.
I am crossing my fingers for Kaidan and hope the relationship finally becomes just that...a relationship.
I get that the whole scene with ME1 LI's was generic in ME2 so they just had to swap Kaidan for Ash and vice versa (horrid to see Kaidan in Ash's armor at the start though) and their conversation was made to suit new players as well, but I hated it.
I hope ME3 will give some closure for those who took the same romance through the entire trilogy and not some simple reunion with a cold 'welcome back on the Normandy' and some sexy time before a big battle. Been there, done that. Put the sexy time in sooner and end with, oh I dunno, a real confirmation of love and say a proposal before the big end battle
I want to see my femshep show some softer side when in the privacy of her cabin with her LI, hugs after difficult missions, talks about what's bothering Shep etc etc.
I agree wholeheartedly with you. It would be nice to really see a "Fem" Shep who is a whole person.

I just want them to bring Kaidan/Ash/Liara back in a meaningful way. There was no need to sideline them as awfully as they did, even if they had a reason. They could have made Shepard sound less like an idiot when she finally met up with him on Horizon. No wonder Kaidan lost his temper. Sheesh. I lost my temper.
Maybe the ME team should spend some time talking with David and the people from the DA:O team.

With Tali and Garrus it's nice to watch their friendship in the beginning develop into something more in the second game which makes those romances freaking epic, IMHO.
I have a soft for Thane. I don't know it's so bitter sweet. And I'll be really made at BioWare if they give him a magic cure. Not saying I want Thane to die, but the emotion involved would be awesome from a story telling POV. Not to mention that there are serious religious implications to the fact that Thane is not ready to die, like he was before he met Shepard.

I agree with everything in this post (especially the last part)!
I would just like the *choice* to get back together with my ME1 love interest, and take the relationship further than just another wild night before a suicide mission. I don't need a definition like a proposal or marriage (I don't think that would be fair to those who aren't interested in that sort of ending), but knowing that there's someone waiting after the Reapers are completely defeated would be nice.
Right now, it was kind of sad, beating the game and knowing that my Shepard has no idea if she'll reconnect with Kaidan again. People with ME2 LIs at least get cuddling as a reward, I get to go back to my lonely captain's cabin and wait two years to find out what will happen.

You know what's up. Heavy Warp= exploding Harbinger/YMIR mech. Also, I agree- the Cerberus Tactician specialty was pretty amazing.
I've been playing my Shepard as a very "End Justifies the Means" character who takes a hardline and does a lot of Renegade-y things (like shooting that hostage), but is working towards the Paragon end (saving the rachni and geth etc) so Miranda and Garrus as characters worked really well.
I don't have a huge problem with the whole idea of the characters hanging up their hats at the end of the trilogy and settling down wherever and being done, as long as it works into the story and doesn't feel forced. I'd much rather see that than everyone makes a heroic sacrifice and dies to save the universe, I think I've seen that enough.
Just my 2 cents.
