How difficult is the game for you?

Fair warning guys. Make sure you spend a few points on some CC in the first few parts of the game. I just now finally bought an AOE spell with my mage and it's been hurting not having one till now. Also, don't forget to have a healing spell. those health potions start to cost a lot of dough and don't always hold up.
Normal difficulty seems rather challenging. At least it's not extremely easy or impossible. I honestly can't imagine what the hardest difficulty on PC is like...

There was this one battle (the Caravan quest you get from the Chanter's board in Denerim) I went in there and died like 15 times in a row. It was reallly frustrating too because I would get really close but missed a potion or whatever and my last char would die when the last enemy had 1% hp left
If that's the one with the boss level caster i can sympathise. That one took a while because those highly level casters do a HUGE amount of damage and are very resistant to spells.
The game took some adjustment for me to understand that anyone hurling spells or shooting a bow someone has the ability to own anyone. I actually ignore anyone with a CC weapon now and just let them beat on me till the mages and archers are dead.

I'd really like to see gameplay footage of someone breezing on nightmare. I can't wrap my head around having all the tactics in the world getting by from having all the numbers jacked way up against you. A one-shot is a one-shot, even if you got all fancy with the clicky.
fully agree.
I mean i aint saying it cant be done, but I do think a lot of these ppl that say that nightmare is easy are all talk.
I find myself playing 15% on easy and 85% on hard. there are certain battles that no matter what I try cannot win. against revenants for example. for some reason one Revenant (ELITE NO LESS) can rip a whole through my entire party! on that not i have to say that i do find myself quite a good stratagist. somewhat textbook but they have done me well on previous RPGs of this type.
DOA however I seem to have issues with some of the battles. either due to overwhelmness or incredibly strong Boss/Elite.
Maybe im just not using my chars well, in a right combo?

I do like how you can play dirty though, there's a ballista in the tower and the gate switch with revenant.
THATS RIGHT!
so if you lift the gate the Knights can help! Genius mate!

I didn't believe people were having this easy a time when I just started playing either, but the difference between the difficulty levels is actually not that big once you have figured the game out. Character builds matter a lot. You just need to know what to focus on.

Maybe i'll try hard next playtrough.
There are some skills and spells that make the game very easy though, such as Mana Clash, even Gaxkang was half-dead after it.

I must say if the game would be any harder, it would definitely reach unenjoyable levels. For example, in the solo passages of the Fade, I must have died like a douzen times. Never wiped in other places yet, but it was sometimes a close call.

I am running about 90% on normal..the other 10% on easy...( the 10% is after I get my ass handed to me more than three times in a row in an encounter...then it goes back onto normal again )

Same here, started on normal, and died alot.. but as i have lvl'ed (and learned) i do not seem to die as much anymore. Only on some of the boss fights i have had to go to easy, or i would have quit the game in fustration
