I played as female Shepard for Mass Effect 1 (really loved her powerful voice).

Is that what they're calling it?

They already marketed Maleshep for the trilogy now so we wont see a great deal of her. Which is sad because I am sure my first 3 playthroughs will be with femshep

I would of liked more content on the site for the fans who know ME and will use femshep.

Hale's VO work is far superior, but the default femShep head is a space-Barbie. It really is kinda tough to make a FemShep who actually looks like she's the type of person who would be a leading combat teams in a military organization. At the very least, you've got to put all the makeup/lipskick/mascara sliders to "none" and eliminate any hairstyle that isn't either very short or firmly tied back.

I also prefer the voice over from the female shepard. However male shepard just got the right look. Female shepard just looks strange, it doesn't fit the voice.

i just tried making a male shep... his voice has 0 emotion or acting to it... for instance, when you wake up after an incident he just said "what happened" where as fem shep is groggy... Fem Shep sounds like a person male shep sounds like a guy reading lines off a peice of paper

Mine does I think, but I don't have any way of getting a pic to show her off. I think i'll have to borrow a camera of a friend at some point.

I doubt you'll see much of FemShep in marketing mainly due to the fact that there probably aren't any "hero" renders of FemShep. That is to say HiRes HiPoly model renders. Her default model seems based off of default models in game While male Shep's face was modeled after, well, a model I believe.

No, that's what I am calling it...

I agree that the default female Shepard head is poor (pretty much an obvious afterthought in both games). And while you can make very good female Shepards, they still pale in comparison to the default male and all of the new companion's faces.

i have a female shep face that i think fits with her voice extremely well... its the one i used back in the first game and to me its just her face... i'm sure alot of people end up with something like that... i have tried differnt faces but it just doesn't sound right coming out of a face thats not the one i first made and associated her voice to

but all in all fem shep has a much better voice then male shep... male shep sounds like hes doing nothing but reading lines... female shep sounds like shes in the game

I have to agree, although it's nice that the main character HAS a voice.  Something I wish would change w/ other story driven games.

They could put an orangutan in a bowler hat on the box art and I'd still buy Mass Effect 3 and still play femShep first.

pretty much... like i said i cannot get into the game with a male shep... the voice is just horrible... that and there is just something in the fact that its a hottie that saves everything and everyone is afraid of her... having a chick intimidate a Korgan is great

I think FemShep can look very good (even if it`s not very easy...) anf fit to Hale`s voice.

It's because white males were the first to do anything. First White Politicians, First White Special forces, ext. All the 11 year olds who buy Mass Effect will freak out and not buy the game because there dumb xbox neanderthal attitudes will say "Shepards a girl now, screw it...duarrrhggg!" Just like they Homosexual article, games featuring during promotion a female star don't sell well. Society is still too immature.

I actually dig the default male Shepard. "Iconic", as Bioware calls him. He's on the trailers, covers, and it's pretty hard to actually create a better-looking Shep from scratch.

Besides, I'm used to him now. Can't relate Meer's voice to any other face.

i agree but i cannot stand his voice... its too artificial... wake up from being out " what going on here" completely flat FemShep sounds like he just woke up from an all night bender in someone elses room

I do agree his voice is terribly plain, but I've grown to like it as one of Shepard's "personality" traits. He's just one of those cool / calculating types to me.

I should go.

True about changing Shepard, but the female is never on the screen making her voice fit "Your" character. which I like

By the law and company policy they shouldn't be having the game in the first place. And guys haven't exactly had problems with female heroines in the past (*looks from Tomb Raider to Bayonetta*) - though female Shepard is way more mature example of feminity than video game heroines usually are.
