I've installed the blood dragon armour and have been playing just fine for 20 or so hours of play time,
Now I recently downloaded the Normandy Crash site dlc and ever since I installed it, it requires me to log onto the net to register/ validate the DLC's EVERY TIME, I do not intend to always be connected to the internet to play so please if possible could someone assist in resolving this issue.
I am unable to load my save games that have utilized this content...
Thanks assistance would be much appreciated
Thank you

I don't know in detail how the DLC authorization process works, but from what I've been reading it seems to me like the DLC's require you to log into the cerberus network after the installation so they can pass the initial authorization check. This "successful authorization" is then stored in a file somewhere on your PC, so that the game continues to recognize that your DLC has been authorized while you are offline. That's the way the system seems to work anyway.
I think the problem only pops up when the game fails to store the success of the authorization of a DLC in that file on your PC, which causes your game to think that you haven't logged in to activate it yet.
It could be a file write-protection issue, but more likely it's due to some bug in the authorization system. Given the ton of problems with Dragon Age DLC, most of which still haven't been resolved after several months, I'm not too hopeful. At the moment it seems to be a case of 'either it works or it doesn't'. If it doesn't your options seem to be 'stay logged in while playing' or 'remove the DLC and continue playing from a save where you didn't have it installed yet'.

Oh I see, Thanks alot.
Any Idea as to how I can remove the DLC? Is there a particular method?
or do I need to uninstall then re-install M.E 2 with an old save with no DLC?
Thanks

As far as I know there is no way to uninstall the DLC through an uninstaller or ingame menu, but since the installation for the DLC only seems to involve copying the files to your ME2 folder you could try just removing it manually.
To do this go to your ME2 DLC folder (by default it's under C:/Program Files/Mass Effect 2/BioGame/DLC). I think the DLC that contains the Normandy Crash is called DLC_UNC_Moment01. Be sure to make a backup of this folder before deleting it so you can always undo it if it doesn't work.
If the above doesn't work, then uninstalling and reinstalling the full game will definitely work - it takes a little longer but gives you a clean start and you can reinstall any DLC's that did work properly. Just make sure to backup your My Documents/Bioware/Mass Effect 2 folder, as it contains your saves and player profile (unlike ME1 your player profile isn't included in the save folder, but is located under BIOGame/profile).
Good luck. You can always reinstall the Normandy Crash DLC in the future if they come up with a fix or workaround for DLC authentication issues.

Yeah I tried that thanks, I removed the normandy crash pack, however it was giving me issues with my Blood Dragon Armour, saying I need to activate that after I had originally activated it with no problems, it was just the Normandy DLC that effected it or something.
So gonna try re-installing and will only install the BDA and hopefully that will work
and thanks once again

Re-install didn't work, same problem as before....sigh..
hopefully they would've corrected this in the next patch...
Honestly don't see the point of paying for an offline game If I have to go online everytime I wanna play...

I just bought ME2 CE tonight, and already I got bitten by the same problem. I login my EA account, download and install the DLCs, tested the game for a bit, then went watch TV.
When I was back I was not connected to internet anymore, and I can't load the save, because I was not logged on to the network.
And I thought EA said they will have no more monkey business with DRM? Why must a single player game requires you to go online every time you play?
I think for now my soultion would be to start a new game without ever logging in to Cerebus Network. That way my saves won't be *contaminated*.

I have the same issue - no solutions yet? I too can't see having to log onto the Internet each time to play single player and I'd like to have my perks remembered in my last saves (Terminus armor and weapon). If I'm connected, my stuff is there, if not, it's not. Please advise!

I have the same problem. PM'd a bio rep like a week ago, didn't get a response.

On your first install, did you have a problem verifying your EA account? When I installed ME2 for the first time a window popped up asking me to verify the game using my EA account. When I typed in my account info, it said that it could not verify with that account, and asked for the key to the game (again). That seemed to have worked, except for the DLC not authorizing offline issue. When I uninstalled/reinstalled, that EA account window didn't pop up again, but I still can't access the DLC offline.

Another thing that I noticed is that this doesn't seem to have anything to do with logging into Cerberus Network in-game. I can disable auto-connect in the options and the DLC still works fine for me even if I'm logged out of Cerberus, so long as my internet connection is active.
According to my firewall, the game connects to the internet before it loads the title screen, and it seems that that connection is the culprit. So long as you're online during that check it works, if you're not, it doesn't.

Same problem here; I have to log in to cerberus to load a save where I used a dlc. Thats worse than DRM, cause you have to be online to start playing.

I'll install a packet sniffer tonight to see what kind of connection it is doing on the loading of the title screen.
Better not be a call to EA's DRM servers... or EA will regret it.

Bump. I refuse to let this go until a dev at least acknowledges the problem. Anyone that's having this issue, please continue posting here.

Now for my second character I don't use any of the DLC's, so If I don't have a net connection available I can atleast PLAY.
Come on this is ridiculous, It needs to be resolved not ignored.

Seriously. If I wanted to be ignored I would've written to EA's customer support. Instead I sent a PM to 2 different Bio people that post in this forum occasionally and neither even acknowledged it..

Apparently there is a file called "BioPersistentEntitlementCache.ini" that gets changed whenever you start ME. I'm not near my gaming computer right now, but can someone play around with it - maybe delete or move it - to see if it makes any difference?

I completely uninstalled the game (except for the settings and save files), reinstalled it, and reinstalled all of the DLC. Now it's working again. No clue what went wrong.

Is it working when you're offline too?

I deleted it... but it created a new one apon logging into Cerberus, and then again did not allow me to play offline.
I posted a solution in a thread I created
http://social.biowar...9931/1#1112112
In escense, I had a backup of the "BioPersistentEntitlementCache.ini" from when I was still allowed to play the dlc offline, if I replace the new one with the backed up one, I can play offline again, even with the new Cerberus Armour DLC.
But having to replace the ini file every time is not the proper solution. Why doesn't someone from Bioware clarify the issue, I have looked everywhere, and nowhere does it say one way or the other.<_<
