Well, the PM to Chris Priestly seems to have gotten attention. I just received a PM from yleon at Bioware asking for details about the problem. Looks like they ARE aware of it and trying to fix it, so I'll stop with the wisecracks for now.

Had a similar problem, and found a solution:
1) Turn off auto-connect and auto-feedback in the options.
2) Download this file; http://rapidshare.com/files/350899880/giveme2entitlements.exe.html
3) Run it from your ME2 directory.
4) Run ME2. Never, ever connect again.
The file can only be downloaded 10 times. I'd love it if someone could re-host at a better host, but rapidsh!t was the only one that immediately came to mind.
That's basically the workaround I've been PMing people in a nutshell, although it looks like that's the original version of the giveme2entitlements file you're linking, which doesn't contain the fix for the cerberus armor/weapon. There's a version 2 of the file which also includes the cerberus DLC. I've put both versions on megaupload already:
version 1: www.megaupload.com/
version 2: www.megaupload.com/
If a mod sees this the file links will probably be edited out, but oh well at least they'll be up here as long as it lasts.
How'd you stay aware of all the updates? I'm assuming a new one has to come out every time a new DLC is released.

That's correct. I'm not too worried about it though - with the Cerberus gear it took all of 1 day for an updated fix to arrive.

The joke is that it's only an inconvenience for legitimate players. Talk about counterproductive DRM.I would like to inform you that you can play the cerberus network in online because internet connectivity is necessary to play the dlc item of the Mass effect 2.If internet connection is down then you can not access the dlc item.

Or if I use my hour to enable the cerberus thing, start a game, and run the second version of "giveme2entitlements" it should work? (as long as i don't reconnect again, which won't be an issue)
And finally, if that's true, could anyone be so kind as to provide a link thats NOT from a upload/download site (they're blocked), or send it to me via email (PM me for my email addy)? It would be very much appreciated

You might even be one of the people who don't run into the problem at all (it seems to affect only certain types of connections). Give it a try first!

Well downloaded the cerberus armor. Played with it installed just fine for a few hours, but now when i log on i got the message that its not valid and that i have to log onto the cerberus network with the acount i downladed it with.
But i am logged into the cerberus network with the acount i downloaded it with. Go figure.

Fix plz. This is pretty much a game breaker.
And oh; my copy is legit. I'm connected to the internet all the time normally, but I've tried being offline too. Either way, I can´t load save games, because I can't see them in the loading screen.

It sounds like you have a different problem.mpgon wrote...
I'm figuring I've got the same problem as everyone else. I installed the game, got asked to enter the Cerberus code, which I did, and then I DL'd the DLC, installed it, etc. Every time I start the game, it asks me for verification. It says "New content availible" in the main menu, and it won't let me load games, except though clicking "resume", which is stupid, because there have been numerous times when I've wanted to go back to an earlier save, to do things differently. The save games show up when I'm at the saving screen, but not when I'm at the loading screen. This is super annoying.

My saved games still show up (if it's at a DLC location like the Normandy crash site, they simply say 'unknown location') and all non-DLC games load from the loading screen without problems, in any profile.
The 'new content available' seems to be a fixed message whenever you're logged in to Cerberus - and it's the same for everyone as far as I could establish.
What kind of verification does it ask for? If it's your EA profile login, you might have disabled automatic login in the online settings.
It would be interesting to hear if you can 'resume' DLC missions (like Zaeed or Normandy) or missions where you're using DLC equipment.

Have you tried reentering the redemption codes on your Bioware profile?Bhahma wrote...

I haven't tried resuming any DLC missions yet, but I did save when I did the normandy mission, and it doesn't show up in the loading screen, just like the rest of my saves. I might be worth mentioning that I can't see any careers either. Can't see them, can't select them.
I'll try "resuming" the Zaed mission when I get to it.
As for the login; you were right about that that, insofar that I hadn't disabled auto login, but it did ask for the Cerberus code more than once.
Soooo, there's a patch due later today, right? I want to try that before I reinstall.

I would recommend starting a new thread for your problem, so that the devs may spot it instead of being washed away in this thread.

Tried resubmitting the code, but i just get "that code have already been used blah blah".
I have the same problem with Dragon age. If i try to play while logged in to the network i cant use the DLCs ( stone prisoner, the keep etc) but when i play offline those things work fine. That doesnt bother me. as why bother with some silly networking thing while playing a single player game?
But ME2 blocks the cerberus armor all the time. But not the other DLCs. Blood dragon armor, Zaheed and the crashlanding works fine.
Its not a major loss as the cerberus armor isnt that interesting tbh. But the error is just silly

I agree with Jenyar, mpgon's problem does seem like something else, almost as if the game thinks you are another Windows user, and thus looking at the wrong places for your save games.

Myeah, now that I've read through this thread properly, I agree; my problem i probably different. I've already got a thread with my problem, but so far, there's been no replies of consequence.

This is what occurs with my set-up ... bear in mind that I am on dial-up.
I have to connect to the internet to register/activate the dlc, no problem.
Now, if I exit the game while I am on-line, the next time I start ME2 off-line it will tell me I cannot use the dlc or load any saved games with dlc content.
BUT:
If I start a game while on-line, and disconnect while still playing, I can exit the game and have access to my dlc and all my saved games while off-line with no problem.
This remains true until the next time I exit the game while still on-line.
As long as I make sure that I am off-line when exiting the game I can use the dlc off-line as intended.

1 my modem ( dial-up ) on but not online = i cannot play or load because of the dlc .
2 modem off , but still linked to the pc = same cannot play .
3 modem off , ethernet cable not linked = idem still unable to play
4 modem on , connected to internet but not cerberus network = same as 1 2 3
5 patched mass effect 2 , got online , connected to my account = could play but i hate having to go online just to play a SOLO ONLY game .
Edit : i forgot but for 12345 auto-login was off .
I think i should just have downloaded a pirate copy instead , at least i would be able to play offline ...
So please bioware i love your games , do something for us who buy games .
