Really, though, I just don't like Morinth. Maybe if you had a reason to feel bad for her (like if she expressed any remorse, aside from being a sociopath), but as it stands there's no real compelling reason to pick Morinth for EITHER Shep.

Was more or less full paragon, with about 2 blocks of renegade. And as far as I know, I had the option to chose between them.

And by the way, you should probably have posted this in the Spoiler Section (with a different title as well since you gave away a pretty big spoiler in it). I had no idea I could choose between them until that moment in the game so I'm sure others would appreciate being surprised as well.

the title is a spoiler. the fact that you can make a choice is a cool story element that some people prefer not to know before they play.

You can do it with paragon options, as well... I believe you have to resist her temptation or whatever with the Blue (or Red?) Dialogue option.

Apart from the reason that Domination is a very cool power, that Samara is a self-centered hypocrite fanatic with no qualms about trapping and killing her own daughter, that Samara is also boring as hell and ugly to boot, that Morinth has such a cool personality, deep appreciation of the arts, and is interesting to talk to, and that Morinth is basically an asari space vampire with biotics?
Well, apart from all that you can have awesome sex with Morinth. Easily the most amazing sex-scene in any BioWare game ever.
OFC, Morinth is not for Paragons, or vanilla diet-coke pu$$y Renegades. She's a 100% evil b!tch with both homicidal and self-destructive tendencies, warped by her genetic disease into a veritable monster. However, for those who miss the old-school "dark side" of RPGs Morinth is like a gulp of fresh air in an otherwise stagnant atmosphere of mediocre political correctness.
Too bad that mechanically her character is not very useful on higher level difficulties. If only she had at least an ammo skill (like Jack), she'd be awesome.

I could cite reasons, but this is already spoilerific enough and I don't want to risk anyone missing out on any more.

It's a trap.
From my experiences it seems you need about 75% Paragon or Renegade.

Okay first of all, Morinth's appreciation of the arts extends to some high-schooler that thinks Metro Station is art..
I assume you mean Metro Station the pop group, and not the metro stations of Paris or Moscow, which are indeed art. As for the pop group (I had to google it, it's so obscure), what makes you think that's what she likes? The only reference she makes is to a fictional music artist/group, we have no idea what kind of music that is. And it's irrelevant anyway, because taste differs, but what matters is Morinth's deep appreciation of the arts per se. You can't argue with that, it's a quest point in the game for heaven's sake. And her conversation on the topic, although perhaps not to the highest intellectual standard (first, it's just a game, and second, she's only met your character) is still miles above anything we hear from the other squadmates.
If you want hard facts: she became infatuated with a young artist, Nef, who was a complete unknown at the time; Morinth's taste is proven when Nef's mother mentions she received a proposition to sell one of Nef's sculptures for "three years' pay".
Second, Samara and Morinth look damn near identical.
Purely physically, yes (and again, it's a plot point). But Morinth has different facial expressions, and her melding form is a completely new look. Personally, I prefer my asari green, and Morinth delivers 8=)
Third, YOU'RE ON A SUICIDE MISSION. Why, exactly, do you think it would be a good idea for -ANYONE- to bring a homicidal, remorseless ***** with you?
You mean Jack? Oh, wait, you're talking about Miranda? No, I guess it's Tali (she's completely xenocidal and remorseless towards the Geth). Or maybe it's Liara? (talk about homicidal and cold-hearted, the love of her life comes back from the grave and she can't take her mind away from murder). Then again, Samara's about as homicidal and remorseless as they get, what with the daughter-killing.
Morinth at least openly embraces her evil, and doesn't hide it under veneers of "justice", "revenge" or "sad childhood".
Oh, and - you're on a SUICIDE mission. Isn't the whole point of the game to bring together a team of the baddest muthaf*ckers in the galaxy? Morinth fits the bill, and if the mission ends up suicide for her, well, the galaxy's better off, right?
What makes you think she's trustworthy at all?
Player: But how can I trust you?
Shale [sarcasm]: I don't know - how can you trust anyone without a control rod?
Morinth is not "trustworthy" in the fluffy white sense. She's probably the only team member (with the possible exception of Zaeed) who has an "evil" alignment. You can trust her to do what she wants to do; for a smart person, that's enough.

I didn't even know there was an alternative to Samara.
This is definitely spoiler.
WTH, you never did Samara's loyalty quest? Because that's like the one and only choice of that quest, its raison d'etre so to speak.

The whole discussion is spoiler territory and it belongs in the Mass Effect 2 discussion forum.
In that case 90% of this forum is a spoiler.
I couldn't care less, though. Anyone who's played the game knows about Morinth. The only spoiler here is what Jep13 said (thanks a lot, dude).
