i dl'd the patch and now when i click play nothing happens. help!

had you played yet? or did you just install and run the patch? I'm experiencing the same thing.. fresh install (not played yet) patched and now I can click "Play" once, get the click sound and then nothing after..

doesn't make a difference, patch kills the launcher and the game exe. I think Bioware has been infiltrated by some sort of saboteur...or a ninja...or maybe someone from EA got into the dev studio, I dunno.

Installed the patch and the loader crashes constantly, such a major turn off.

Just wondering, are you guys playing on the hard copy or the digital downloads? Wondering if the patch only causes problems to one of those or both.

Crap, same thing happened to me. One extra detail, if you try to click the shortcut into the game itself, it won't work either, but it does give a reason: the side by side configuration isn't working properly, or some such.

Installed the patch before reading this thread. Luckily it worked for me. Playing on Vista 32, pent i7, ati 4800, hard copy. The only error I got so far is that it said there was a problem with updating my online profile. When I checked it out, my stats were gone(so far). Other than that, no problems so far.

The main issue that people seem to be having is that the patch is built with a newer version of a Microsoft library than what DAO originally installs. You can find the latest version here, the x86 version.

Is this issue only with win vista or anyone with win 7 also having an issue with the patch?

for now i just uninstalled and reinstalled. less headache. the game works now. good to keep in mind about the library version.
