I've been told if you max out your Paragon or Renegade points on ME1 then you can start with some Paragon/Renegade points for ME2 if you import your save.  My question is, if I max out one of those and then beat the game and save, when I start a new game my Paragon/Renegade points are reset to zero.  Do I need to save my ME1 game before beating it and use that save for ME2?  I hope that question makes sense.  Thanks.

Not quite sure what you mean but you import the game at the end of the play through. If you start a new play through you can still import your last one

That's what I wanted to know. I wasn't sure if it imported the save from where you were on a second playthrough or if it imported the save from when you beat the game. Thanks.
