I have my favorites, and Thane is right up at the top. I think I will never ever admit to who is the actual favorite, but I'll at least say it's not Jacob.Shavon wrote...
Thane is one of the best, male romance options in all of the Bioware games I've ever played. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
Thane Fanclub. Keep Thane Alive and in ME3!!!

I found Thane's romance to be the best in ME2. Lots of conversation before the romance even begins.
that's what I liked about it too. In the end, my MainShep broke his heart though, hence the second Shep and she's doing Legion's loyalty mission right now. So the suicide mission is close....*giggles*
Everyone still loyal, 100% full paragon and a high renegade scale.....means, I'll keep everyone loyal this time around and weeeeee can't wait for the scene right before Omega 4

I've done the Garrus romance and it was sweet and definitely awkward at times, I liked it. My infiltrator and Garrus are just right for eachother.
I did the Kaidan and Liara romance, they were alright.
But Thane, he's snagged 4 of my Shepards so far. <3
It's 'dem lips'!

what I hated about the break up with Thane is that they used his disease as excuse. In my Shep's case it was because she wanted to stay faithful to Kaidan. Yet all she could say was that she couldn't stand the thought of losing Thane and all. I mean, I do understand it from the Dev's point of view but the entire "no love for the dying man" thing.....it was just heartless. I felt horrible! My MainShep was so frustrated on the first playthrough.
Lana however is a happy kitten ^.^
Saving the Omega 4 relay for saturday since it's past midnight over here and although I have off tomorrow, I'll be spending the whole day at a friend's wedding. And I don't wanna rush through this scene :innocent:
Good night everyone...

LOL. At first, I thought that I could see a relationship with Jacob. He started off miliary and all. They have stuff in common. But man that guy was dull. I had no interest in pursuing anything.Pacifien wrote...
You know what I love about that article, other than a nice insider look into the creation of Thane? It's that the developers openly admit that designing an attractive love interest for men isn't nearly as complicated as designing one for women. More than just the appearance, but the entire personality as well.Jade5233 wrote...
I'm sure in your previous 100 pages you already found this, but I figured I'd try to contribute something since I'm new.

Which makes me wonder if they knew how complicated it was to design a personality that appeals to women, who the hell dropped the ball on the relationship with Jacob?! I am dumbfounded how they could get it right with Kaidan, Garrus, and Thane and then so completely and utterly fail with Jacob.
I was open to a relationship with Garrus (in my alternate character--the first is Kaidan's). Garrus is a friend. It made sense. But from the stuff on YouTube it seems more like a hookup than there being real feelings involved above friendship.
Thane is really the only one that is tempting. Strong, but vulnerable, too. Definitely in need of being loved not just sexed.
And YUP. Women are more complex in their attractions. I thought it was funny how the male designers thought something looked cool for Thane and the women found it creepy.

Please, thank you!

Keep looking at Thane's face during the whole conversation; he's clearly torn apart by the end of it, yet acting like the cool guy he's ever been. Very moving.

I agree and disagree about using his disease as the reason to break up with him.
One the one hand, I can see it from Shepard's perspective. She's been through so much and, looking ahead, has a suicide mission looming on the horizon - one which either one or both of them might not make it back from. If she had originally romanced Kaidan or Liara she would want to protect herself from feeling that loss again. If Thane was her first real love then, again, she's only trying to protect herself. Hurt now so she doesn't hurt later.
On the other hand, it incenses me to no end to use his illness as an excuse to turn aside from him. Thane is not the one who continually brings up his illness, it's Shepard. Thane is not the one who continually asks if he's feeling alright, it's Shepard. In the case of my Shepards who've romanced Thane, he is the one. If this is the time they have together then gosh darnit, they will make those memories rich and full, suicide mission and all.

This is pretty much how I feel.
Right now I'm doing the romance for Garrus and so far I like it. I had a Shepard set aside just for him. I also romanced Kaiden and Liara in the first game. Liara's romance was ok. I liked Kaidan's romance the best until I played ME2 and started talking to Thane. After that I went back to ME and created to more Shepards just for Thane. So for me his romance is the best.

Hi IccaRa.....long time no see...Hope your doing well. I did the Thane break-up to see what it was like, and my heart simply broke. You can tell that he is hurt but, he handles it well. I then reloaded my save and chose the break up line but, then I chose the second line and I heard Shep say "How can I let you go now that I've found you?" and Thane was like "When the time comes you will" I swear I felt like crying that was such a sad conversation.
However I would have loved it if my Shep was able to peel of Thanes smexy Jacket. I do hope for a more in depth love scene for ME3 cause, that fade to black screen kind of p*ssed me off

Because, seriously, someone can love more than once in a lifetime.
Of course they can. And it can be even more powerful. Although I do not think Shepard can already compete with Irikah. They will need a lot more time than a year to come to that kind of stage of intimacy. So if he dies too soon he will probably “go back to his wife” - you know he believes in afterlife and stuff. And that is just sooo wrong.
