I don't see anywhere where I bashed Kaidan, at all, nor have I ever.  

If that's what you took from my post then maybe I was unclear.  My intention was to say that I hope Shepard can at least say something this time, I think it's past due time for her to speak her mind on the subject of the relationship between him and her.

The whole Thane and Shepard on the console is tongue-in-cheek.

Bashing O.O Nope there is no bashing. No hostile comments. We are just discussing the encounter and how Kaiden really didn't give Shepard a chance. That's all.

I’ve been following this thread for the last few days…I love reading the posts. XD Glad to see so many Thane lovers out there! There better be a cure...I want the chain of "my favorite characters dying" to be broken.

That would be me.  The laser dot trembles on the skull thing, I guess?  And I declared Kaidan a d-bag in response to the WWKD question.   Stabbing zombie women in their gooey emotional center can still hurt -  the renegade in my Shepard is about as forgiving and understanding as Kaidan was to her.  That's all.  This means if she thinks he's a d-bag, then my Shepard's prolly a d-bag right back at him.  There.  Even.

After 129 pages, it's hard to keep up spr srsbsns discussion about a character without repeating itself and eventually turning into a bulge-fest.  Rest assured, I do not actually want Thane to kill and/or beat up Kaidan - infact, the Shepard that ended up with Thane did not romance Kaidan.  The one who did went for Garrus, so, clearly Garrus will need to lay down some calibrations on his ass to defend the honor of his woman.  The entire scenario (as well as that last sentence) was based on a hypothetical, someone asking "What do you think...?", and the thought was meant to be comical.

So, I apologize if my careless whimsy offended any Kaidan fans.

And I apologize to any Thane fans for calling him a lizard, and for sullying this thread with inappropriate humor.  I'm a bad, bad girl.

I love Thane and I love inappropriate humor.  No need to apologize. 


Maybe my definition of bashing differs from others, but I honestly didn't see that occuring here.  And this coming from a Kaidan fan.  With all the problems Horizon has, eliciting varying emotions from players is not one of them.  Some were angry with him, some sympathized, and for others, it was a bit of both.  I don't see any reaction as the "correct" one.  And obviously, people are likely to project their feelings onto their characters.  Which is all I believe was happening here.

It's not as if anyone was saying, "Kaidan is dumb, let's throw rocks at him".

I'm definitely a fan of Thane, and he's usually my prefered romance, but after a recent playthrough I found myself wondering what sort of problems his perfect memory could create, especially when it comes to his relationship with FemShep. Am I the only one that's wondered if he'd slip into an Irikah memory at a very inopportune time? I think that's really the only thing putting me off from romancing him yet again.

Also, the bulge is nice.  And hello everyone!

So, jokes about killing Kaidan are cool, and Thane fans are allowed to express their feelings, but when Kaidan fans were comparing him to the ME2 LIs, it was bad, and needed to stop...

Although I didn't romance him in ME2, I like Thane too, and check this thread regularly, and it disappointed me to see the Kaidan killing and harming fantasies here...they're not original or funny, when you see them everywhere except for the haven of the Kaidan thread.  It makes me sad that I have to stay out of other LI threads if I don't want to see the same old tired jokes and fantasies about violence against him again and again.

My post in the Kaidan thread was really only targeting one person's description, which by extension, could be seen as an insult to actual people.  Apples and oranges, really.

Like I said, maybe my definition of 'bashing' differs from others... but as far as the jokes about killing Kaidan, I don't think it's any different than wishing you could throw other characters out of the airlock to get him back.  Dead is dead.  And neither really bother me.  Of course, I'm only speaking for myself.  *shrug*

Thane is a really cool character. No....never romanced him (play Maleshep) but he's a semi-decent biotic and really good with his sniper rifle. Add his Shredder Ammo onto that and you've got a killing machine.



Garrus is the guy my Shep goes and has a drink with. Thane is the guy my Shep goes and has a philosophical discussion with. And I love both! Thane needs to be back in ME 3, as a squadmate and cured! Or...at least somehow curable!

Point.  I think intimate-Irikah-solipsism would be more likely if he were with another drell since Shepard's a whole different beast, or if he were alone and well... you know...

And then I wondered what would happen if a drell slipped into a memory about slipping into a memory.

Ah, this reminds me of that one time with Irikah that reminded me of that one time with...  *head explodes*

oh-hhhhhh-h-h-hhhhhh... Yes.  Yes indeed.  I loves me some Thane sniping.  With my second shepard as a biotic, I took Garrus and Thane everywhere with me.  It was disgustingly effective.
