BAAAAHAHAHA  Yes.  In my notes from when I was going through some of his sound files, one just says "lol"

it's the noises he makes when carried off by the seek swarm.

lol, I love the name of the file.  I opened it anyway and chose windows media player.  The random visualization was on.  SEEING the sound only made it worse.  So colorful.  So so colorful.

Why you have to talk about Thane's dead T__________T....the name of the Forum is "Thane Fanclub. Keep Thane Alive and in ME3!!!" alive....I never hear that because I always put Garrus in charge and I take Thane with me...but I am depress now T^T thank you

Me too! I can't remember when he said that. Tsk, and I thought that Jacob was the only one to aknowledge that Shep's leading a hard life (or at least that's what I'm told).

See, that's the funny thing.  People keep saying that Jacob is the only one to acknowledge Shepard's problems, but Thane does too, twice.  He doesn't get into a long drawn out conversation like Jacob does, but he does know Shepard can't be having an easy time and lets her know he's there for her.

I'm not on my ME computer atm, but the 'You have many burdens' line I think comes when Shepard turns Thane down, the convo about not being able to love a dying man.  I could be wrong, though, I'll check later. 

And here's a question, since this has got me thinking.  Do you prefer quiet, contemplative Thane or flashy, Blur-trailer Thane?

My answer : I love both.  Two sides of the coin.  I love me some smart, confident, subtle guy who says what's on his mind, but he's not in-your-face about it .  I also love me some face-punching, neck-snapping, collar-popping hot shot who can melt the ice in a glass 20 feet away.

I like how in the Blur Trailer he quickly and with less pain takes out those Eclipse mercs.

This file is in the bundle for the Romance-Only repeatable conversation (where "I can't love a dying man" in an option); however, as far as I know, it does not exist in game, no matter what options you pick while talking to him.  I only know this because, a couple of weeks ago, I went through and decided to transcribe all of Thane's Normandy conversations and all of their option for the sake of having easy reference material >.>

Given the content of the other files near it in that bundle, and some of what Shepard says in it as well, I'm going to guess this MIGHT be available if you have are romancing both Thane and someone else, and choose someone else.

However, if you are in a romance with someone else as well,  Thane will call you out in the conversation before this by saying "but it's occurred to me that I might not be foremost in your mind" and "when no one else competes for your eyes, I will be here."  (I got this from Thane on my Garrus-Romancing Shepard)

So, I'm going to guess that the cut lines were an alternative to the "I can't love a dying man" option currently available.  Currently, if you pick "I can't love a dying man," Thane will say:

"Shepard, we made no vows to each other.  We are both unbound.  I have no wish to be a burden to you.  If it is your wish, I will turn aside"
and
"I understand.  It isn't easy to lose someone you care for.  You've already lost a great deal in your life.". 

as opposed to:

"If you're sure, I'll accept it.  But I would ask that we discontinue our talks here." (a file available in that bundle)


Shepard's alternate sound files say:
"We need to talk." [I've been thinking about your illness]
"There is someone else.  I think we should see other people." [I don't think I can do this, love you now only to lose you later.  I'm sorry.]
"I have to follow my heart." [It is my wish]
and
"No... I'm not sure.  About anything." [No, it-- how can I walk away from you?]

I could test this, but I'm not really sure how - I assumed once you received the "challenge" dialogue from a multiple LI scenario, you had to pick one before any of them would converse with you further.  I also have no idea if it's possible to chat someone else up to the point of romance once you're established with a LI.  So maybe they just scrapped the other conversation in favor of the currently available one?  Noooo clue.

It sounds like they wanted the relationship to go in a different direction. The cut files make them seem a bit harder/less pleasant (imo), while the ones in the game seem more sympathetic/thoughtful.
