I get the feeling that it looks cool and badass to some people to want some character they 'like' to die

or maybe it should be an indication of how sophisticated and wise their worldview is

duh

They claim that they're tired of "happy endings".

so far none of my favourite BW games had happy endings. the best example is Baldur's Gate, it had a really good sense of 'grey area' no matter what option you choose.

so i expect Thane to live in ME3 but it clearly won't be rainbows and butterflies. some drawback is almost certain

We did sort of have the option for tragedy in ME2.  There's a youtube of everyone dying, even Shepard.  In a way, we could even control who died  BUAHAHAHAHA.

No, I don't expect ME3 to be kittens and cotton candy, but the best kicker is the one in the teeth.  The one you don't see coming.

"I'm dying" messes with the surprise.

I'm very curious about how Thane is going to be cured (if at all). Like, is it going to be in-game? Or is the game going to start with him ALREADY cured? OR, are we going to spend some time with him and then he dies halfway through, in one epic cutscene of some sort? I sure as hell hope not.

With all of Dragon Age's DLC, I'm really curious, too.

I am still hoping that, if we find Feron in LotSB, we can use him as spare parts...

Hm. This requires a "Feron for Spare Parts in ME3" banner.

The only real drawback would be that I cannot write, yet so many ideas of wacky, sitcom-like Shep/Kolyat shenanigans would fill my brain (complete with laugh track) with nowhere to go.  That's the real tragedy.

Here is a sad fact: A Shepard who romanced Jacob can share a kiss with him during their first post-suicide mission conversation, whereas a Shepard who romanced Thane just gets to hear a single semi-generic line from him post-suicide mission.

I don't know about Garrus, but I'd imagine him to be no different than Thane -- basically commenting on what happened to the base. Or not?
