Phoenix - about your question. What kind of situation are we talking about? What would Shepard have to do to cure Thane?

I would prefer a double-edged sword here. That is to say, if Thane is cured, it has a costly result to it. If not, well, Thane dies. As much as I dislike such decisions, I think that's what makes you feel really emotionally attached to the universe around you. A decision like this would set those who truly love Thane apart from those who don't. How it would be done, though, is something I'm not sure I can comment on. It can by anything; as in, anything -- so as long it actually makes you "feel" it.

They aren't easy on us Thane Lovers, are they?

If they do that, I could see Thane giving a very thoughtful speech if it comes to that.

No.  No more of that.  Why should it need to be that way?  There's already so much other crap going on in this game, that's just too much.  A freaking decision like that should not eclipse the plot of the game.  And it's already been done.

To think that they might need to do Something Special with each and every LI is ridiculous.  Even Dragon Age didn't go there.  Just trying to come up with a scenario where it would be Thane's life v. countless others is very difficult short of him careening off a cliff while you have to go press a button to stop total annihilation.

And that's just silly.

And I want my happy ending!  A big deal ™ was made that ME2 was the dark second chapter and we're already being told that ME3 will be brighter.  I can see some kind of choice / consequence regarding treatment (such as how badly will Thane react when Shepard clubs him over the head, forges his name on the transplant list and drags him to the nearest medical facility). But more than that, I don't know.  And it would be cheap, easy and meaningless to not even have him in ME3.

And the way it's been and is being set up, I don't see the storyline between Thane and Shepard as cheap, easy and meaningless.

But it is sexy.
