I finally got around to playing LOTSB and I'm not sure how I feel about the stuff in Thane's dossier. I got teary-eyed reading his letter and the medical report. But still, it was a relief to know that despite the damage the disease has already caused him he's still a candidate for a transplant and Dr. Chakwas seems to think it would help him.

I just hope this isn't Bioware's way of starting to ease people into the idea of letting go of Thane in ME3. Whether it's because they outright kill him off or force a choice between keeping him on the squad without getting the transplant (which will eventually kill him) or convince him to get the transplant (which might save him or prolong his life) but cause him to be out of commission in ME3. I want him cured and I want him to be in the squad. Do you guys think it's going to be impossible to have both? I guess I should just hope they find a cure but it would suck to not have him in the squad. My Shepard takes him everywhere. She can't lose him! D:

The conversation with Liara was such a nice (and unexpected) moment. But it made me sad and wasn't very comforting to my Shep. She'd rather be doing something to help Thane than waiting for the inevitable. Between the reaper and the collector threat Shep's barely had any time to spend with Thane. Will they ever get to visit that desert they talked about!? D: There isn't enough time, damnit! He can't die!

And I know, I know!  At first I was so very anti-shades (and I still am, seriously no one has modded those off yet?) but the outfit has kind of grown on me.   But it's the Doctor's orders, shirtless Thane in ME3.

I never really thought of it like that.  I wonder if, regardless, Thane will be out of commission for a time in ME3.  If there's no possibility him getting a transplant or he's just against it entirely, would he at least seek a possible treatment plan to stave off the effects of his illness?

The conversation with Liara is nice, but one line does stick in my craw just a little bit.  Her saying, 'It's not about the time you have, but what you do with it.' gets me a bit snarky.  I know the intentions are good and the feeling behind it genuinely meant to make Shepard feel better, but it's kind of like, hey - if you want to tag in at some point and give Shep a break from saving the galaxy you go right ahead, because it's not like Thane and Shepard have been sipping margaritas on the beach since they met.  The time they have had is short snippets in between the fighting, the brushes with death, TIM's constant phone calls and Harbinger's crazy obsession with Shepard.

Instead of starting ME3 off with a bang, it'd be nice to start of sort of quiet like and then build to a full, gut-punching roar at the end.
