I was going to say something dirty but I will hold my tongue.
So Thane will an almost filled Paragon bar as I see it.

As for the body, does it count as paragon or renegade if it's technically mindless? Does your gun have paragon or renegade points? All sorts of things go into the decision to shove someone through a window or not. And, just because HE sees his body and soul as being separate doesn't necessarily make it so.
I think because his body's a tool, he's got some renegade by default. For instance, if Shepard had just been a tool for TIM and done what he'd wanted her to do, well, that's a whole lotta renegade you get for turning over the Collector Base. Even just doing your duty is worthy of renegade points at times. For instance, I consider Kasumi's greybox debacle as something that puts duty in conflict with sentimentality. Paragon = sentimentality = keep it. Neutral = reason = Keiji wanted her to destroy it. Renegade = duty = destroy it because it could harm the Alliance if it got out.
I think Thane is a recovering Renegade, which is (*edit* at least part of) why he's trying to make the galaxy a little brighter before he dies.

"To really love a woman
To understand her - you gotta know it deep inside
Hear every thought - see every dream
N' give her wings - when she wants to fly
Then when you find yourself lyin' helpless in her arms
You know you really love a woman
When you love a woman you tell her
that she's really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she's the one
she needs somebody to tell her
that it's gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really
- really really ever loved a woman?
To really love a woman
Let her hold you -
til ya know how she needs to be touched
You've gotta breathe her - really taste her
Til you can feel her in your blood
N' when you can see your unborn children in her eyes
You know you really love a woman
When you love a woman
you tell her that she's really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she's the one
she needs somebody to tell her
that you'll always be together
So tell me have you ever really -
really really ever loved a woman?
You got to give her some faith - hold her tight
A little tenderness - gotta treat her right
She will be there for you, takin' good care of you
Ya really gotta love your woman..."

Thane's definitely a recovering renegade in the sense that a renegade will accomplish their goal 'by any means necessary'. I don't see pre-Irikah Thane giving up a mission simply because an innocent may be hurt, or morals may be compromised. He took a dark turn after his wife's murder, but now (especially with Siha Shepard) he's trying to Paragon it.

I think Thane would have a pretty steady paragon bar for most of his life, but that renegade one has been all over the place.
The brazen hussy.

Buuuuutttttttttt He had his spiritual side all along, didn't he? Of course, I'm making a big assumption here by thinking he's always prayed to Amonkira to guide him and he says that he thought Irikah was Arashu herself.General Ashous wrote...
Welcom indeed. Pre-Irikah Thane and post Irikah Thane. I think I'd prefer post, he is probably more spiritual which is what I love.
I'd be very interested in learning when he started praying to Arashu in defense of others and praying to Kalihira for himself, and if that counts as making him /more/ spiritual or not.
Hrm.

Like a gift from the heavens it was easy to tell
It was love from above that could save me from hell
She had fire in her soul, it was easy to see
How the devil himself could be pulled out of me
(Of course, Shepard can't dance, but we'll ignore that)
Thanks for the kind words of welcome! I too prefer post-Irikah Thane; all that he's suffered through lends him to such a facinating view on the world, and his spirituality is something I want touched upon or deepened in the future. He does such an admirable job of keeping his head above water after everything he's gone through; well, most of the time. I failed his loyalty mission the first time around and went to talk to him on the Normandy, and I had to reload. The anguish, depression, and general hopelessness killed me

Kimihiko, I'll refrain from hitting/kicking/punching simply because now I'm listening to that song and imagining Thane...gah. I had a hard enough time listening to Into The Night by Santana without thinking of him.
