Siha,

I write this with a heavy hand, knowing you will read this letter when I am no longer able to share my thoughts. I am dying, Siha. Perhaps because of the differences between our species, I can hope that time will treat you with kindness and dim the hurt of my passing to faded recollections that a drell would forever remember with perfect clarity.

Selfishly, however, I could not leave this world without leaving a piece of me behind that would never fade.

I once accepted my fate. Nothing remained but a shell destined to die. I only had to choose the when and how of my passing. I had refused to be confined to a bed, gasping horribly as my life beeped away to machinery I had no use for. I thought of my Irikah, broken, bloodied, and betrayed by my absence. Of Kolyat, small and afraid, bravely pushing at his eyes to stem the flow of tears I had entrusted him to cry... for both our sakes.

The expectation to move swiftly to my end vanished upon uniting with your cause. You awoke me, Shepard. My heart quickened its sluggish beat if only to remain at your side and protect you with everything that I am. I was content to simply watch, take the time left given and praise all I know for allowing me to walk my final days with hope and certainty that I am worthy of more than my cold isolation, solely because you believed.

I love you. If all else whispers back into the tide, know this for fact. By grace given me by the Goddess Arashu, I bid her divine protection to you, my warrior-angel, my Siha, to succeed in your destiny. To light your path through the coming darkness. To give you hope, when all seems lost.

I will await you across the sea.

OMG! That drawing is absolutely amazing! I love it! Thank you, you've made my day. Question of the day? Hmmm... What about... how many neck snaps do we believe Thane has made throughout his life and who prefers him to shoot a targert instead of neck snap? I personally like a mix of both, like in his recruitment mission. Drop in, neck snap, gun a few down and then another neck snap of possible. Good combo.

That was... touching. And I'm a guy! That was actually rather moving. Can't read that again, I may actually get a heart. Knew it was on ME wiki but never looked at it. Thane will survive, I'm sure, if only to read that letter aloud. He will survive between the games and he'll survive in ME3, I'm sure of it. Or am I just in denial? No way, he's surviving.

Hope they won't go that way since it has been played so many times, like DA:O.

My anwser..screw it, I'm saving Thane if they decide to do something like that. Why? I don't think I need to explain.

I was just thinking in that the other day, If the reapers use Thane for get to Shepard, I mean they can control any organic form..so...

Believe me, I'm a guy too and I was THIS close to shedding a man-tear. I just totally didn't expect to see this, and I happened to be playing with my female Shepard the first time I tried out LOTSB, which I generally don't do a lot.

I really hope they do something special for all LIs in ME3. It would be nice to see little moments like after Shepard has made some big decision:

Shepard: I hope I did the right thing.

Thane: You did what you had to do,Siha.

Hello, Buggirl   You could probably have just slid right back into the thread without bringing up past statements you'd made, but you didn't.  That takes some balls.  Welcome back!

Excellent drawing!


Personally, I really feel like Thane's note is meant to nudge his Sihas and kinda keep the drama going for them and for whatever storyline they have planned out for him.  BioWare has to know that they have a dark corner over here full of Thane Fans wondering what the hell is going to become of him.  While every other character thread is going on about how great that LI is, this one is full of greatness... along with a healthy dose of worry and debate.

It also let us know some of the things we never were able to ask about in game - what his motivations are now, why Shepard is so special to him, and how special Shepard is to him.

And I just don't see how Thane could refuse Shepard if he or she insisted he receive some kind of treatment.  And we need to keep in mind that transplants do not cure Kepral's.  And since Thane refused to be put on the list anyway (very likely out of some sort of feeling of guilt), I'm guessing there's going to be some other way.

And, I've said it before, but it almost seems like too much - the tell in their bluff.  Were we just tapped for a DLC?

As for DLC
- Tela Vasir was in a Cerberus Daily News story wasn't she?  And she played a decent part in Lair of the Shadow Broker.  Another news story that went on over the span of a few days that was also reported over the network, and was brought up again recently a few pages back, was the "medi-gel for the lungs" that some volus had developed and the turians had sort of pirated, much to his dismay.  I am very curious just how much of the stuff we're fed in the CDN are news blurbs of things that will have an impact on our game.

And we now have all of the Shadow Broker's resources available to us.

So I'm hopeful.  Very very hopeful.  And incredibly interested what they might be able to pull out of this hat - not just for Thane and his Siha, but Shepard and the Drell.  And Hanar.  Lots of slaver talk going on around them.  And I'm really curious how they might feel to know their Enkindlers were repurposed into Collector tools for the Reapers.

And how they might feel about Shepard having all this Enkindler junk burned into his/her brain.

Oh I just got a story idea O.O

I may or may not write this.

In either case, I need to go browsing for Halloween stuff.

How would people feel about a collaboration?

Everyone draws their own Shepard (One who romanced Thane, most likely) and they could all be holding a banner that says something like "We support a cure for Thane".



I know there are some terrific artists in this thread and this could be a great way to voice our opinion!

I'll do it!

Both of my Sheps would support a cure, but I'll just stick to the one that romanced him.

I can't promise it'll be terrific, but it'll be something!


question: they'll all be holding the same banner, so just draw my shep standing with her arms above her head or mid-level?

That's a great Idea, but can we join all the shepards in one draw? maybe will cause more impact that If we draw just one shepard , maybe we can put all together, choose poses like in a picture, I mean the same sistem when you do a collaboration with other person

Edit: maybe using a communication program with the people that want to do this, yahoo, msn, etc?

I also initially called Kolyat a whiny emo drell  yeah it pains me to admit, I own that one too.

I'm beginning to think of drell as the holy trinity of Mass Effect.

As much as I'd love to contribute to any group projects, I can't draw, not unless you consider anatomical drawings of insect genitalia part of the project (and really it's not as titillating as it sounds.)

I was listening to some music this morning and I came across a recent fave of mine, I couldn't help but think of Thane and that letter.
