Apparently, you can resume your relationship with Liara in LotSB even if you have an ME2 LI. I'm guessing they didn't want to address the issue in a DLC and you'll have to face the music in ME3.

What should happen to a FemShep who embraces eternity with Liara after reading Thane's letter?

Question: According to LotSB, Thane was responsible for the One Hour Massacre on Omega. What do you think may have happened? Assassination gone wrong, gone right or simply drumming up business - he did say there wasn't much work for an assassin on Omega, didn't he? I want to learn more about this!

I'm going to bring up what I bought up pages ago about the hope theme in Thane's romance and story(Thane's romance has alot of themes XDD we should discuss this as well!)



As I watched his recruitment mission again(Youtube! XD), it is apparant that he wants to make the world brighter before he dies but as he says in his loyalty mission if you fail, he says "Removing evil is not the same as creating good.", you can see how hopeless he sounds after he fails his son(because he wanted to create some good which is ultimately saving his son from his sins)



What am I getting at with this? Hmmm



Well, he was expected to die in Dantius Tower because he was without hope(and he was dying, you can see deep down that he looks like he hasn't done enough) Shepard comes along and I think Thane begins to think inwardly after seeing Shepard and getting to know who Shepard is.



"Hey, this person is concern for me, befriending me..." You know?



Also, as I think about what Thane said to Shepard, "I don't need your help. I want it."



He wants it? Why? Thane has all these incredible skills? Why Shepard besides s/he befriending him?



Moral support! The charsima s/he has?



Shepard has literally has bought hope to the world..s/he saved it..she's a hero and people look up t to a hero.



So Thane wanted it because Thane is a killer, he is no hero but he wants something different for his son so he wanted Shepard's help because s/he bought hope!



Okay...I will stop rambling. I hope you guys understand what my thinking was leading to. XDD

I completely understand and agree! I think he was hoping for 1. Moral support/companionship from Shep, 2. For her to be an example to Kolyat. Thusly.

"Thane, I'll be glad to help you, but I don't have your contacts and I don't have your tracking skills. Why do you need my help?"

"I don't need your help. I want it. My body has been blessed with the skills to take life. You have..brighter gifts. Your presence, your example, may persuade him more than words alone."

It's a good line.

From the line, I feel like he knows he could have done this entirely without Shepard, but there's that whole "the measure of an individual can be difficult to discern by actions alone" thing... maybe it was to see what Shepard would do and how much Shepard would do. Almost like a test. In the beginning, he was curious to see how far Shepard would go to find him. Maybe now he's curious to see how far Shepard would go to help him.

Initially, my Shepard took it as a test.

Or, maybe, he wanted Shepard to see something about it.

Or, maybe, he just didn't want to face it alone.

As for "removing evil is not the same as creating good..."
That line still bothers me on some level because he says Kolyat is the only good thing he's brought into the galaxy.

So now I'm thinking "babies! babies everywhere!" And then my brain freezes and I can't think past that.
