I have a single female Shepard who romanced Kaidan in ME and then ditched him for Thane in ME2. She's sticking with the latter.

I actually find myself playing as a FemShep a lot more in ME2 than I did in ME1. I admit, Thane's romance is the reason. I typically play with my canon Shepard (male + Ashley), but that seems to have changed as of Sere Krios' reveal. =]

My original Shepard is my favorite Shepard. She cut Liara and Kaidan down without so much as a "howdy do." Then Thane came along and well... he's too good to pass up. It was so difficult to romance Garrus and stay true to Kaidan. The only way for me was to stay away from Thane altogether. He still ended up calling me Siha though. On the last female playthrough, I went to the Citadel with Garrus and Thane and the advertisement said, "Officer Vakarian when I wasn't with anyone so that was just weird.

I have about four female shepards.  One who stayed with Kaidan. One for Garrus. Two for Thane. The ones I created for Garrus and Thane didn't  romance anyone in the first game. I also have two male Shepards one who stays with Liara, and the other was created for Tali.

I have trouble too! XDDD I can't play my second Shepard who I wanted to romance Garrus but seeing Thane...

Me: Be strong.....be strong...

Thane: Well, here I am.

Me: MAN!!!!

XDDDD

Also, Awwww to the whole conversation with Mouse and Thane. So emotional for Thane. =(

My shepard is always nice to Mouse. She sympathized with him but my Shepard who is usually paragon roughs up Kelham at the last minute. My shepard just like Thane doesn't want an innocent soul to be corrupted.

I have one Garrus-romancing Shep.  It was difficult for me for two reasons : One, Garrus is my wingman, he's my brogan.  Took me some mental shifting to get around that.  Two, I had to stay away from Thane.  That was hard. Even the Shep that romanced Garrus thinks of Thane as one of her go-to guys.

Someday, I'll get around to playing my loyal-to-Kaidan playthrough.

I have four Sheps now who've romanced Thane (and he's about to snag my vanguard).  All but one had no romance in ME1.

I always look forward to talking with Thane.  I love hearing his memories and seeing his insight into the hanar.  I'd love to hear more of his personal history, what kind of training he had, maybe a bit more on that hour-long massacre on Omega, why was he on Ilium for 2 years, if Shep pulled some strings and snatched a pair of lungs would he accept them, maybe more on the old religion that some drell / Thane follow, and definitely more information on the Compact and gosh darnit I want to go to Kahje!

I'm so in love with Thane, sometimes I wonder about myself. This has never happened before and my husband just loves to laugh and tease about it.

Do not be my friend. Give into Thane. There is no resisting his charming personality. I wouldn't say we're fanatics, per say, more loyal supporters who believe he's one of the best fictional characters ever created. @Hainkpe, are you having an affair with Thane? lol. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll find a way to combat this obsession. Somehow, don't know how but you will. Besides, it's not that bad to enjoy a character so much.

Am I having an affair with Thane? I don't think so, it kinda one sided. Plus he's fictional so, definitely no. But he is... so...

Alluring? I think many people feel the same way, we are all drawn to Thane for different reasons. However, we are all drawn to him, it is inevitable. A lot of people are drawn to characters and just lose themselves in that character. I, for instance, am drawn to General Grievous from Star Wars and always let myself get lost in his character. I know everything there is to know about him. However, it's because he's such a great character and because I can relate to him. There's nothing wrong with losing yourself in a good character. It's only when you start talking to them and they talk back that something's wrong. lol.

And I love his subtle sense of humor.  He's not so incredibly serious that he can't smile or make a joke.

"You have the advantage there Shepard. You've already died.  Perhaps later you can give me some suggestions."

"I think it's safe to say that by the time my body is incapacitated we'll either be victorious ... or dead."

"Nearly.  I expect if we remembered the birth trauma we'd never recover from it."

Well said, big GA!

No character in a video game has snagged me like Thane.  He's got such an interesting perspective and a good story.  It may have been done before (I know, I know) but it was done pretty well this time.  I felt for him, I wanted to help him, and Kolyat isn't such a bad kid, just a little lost, like his dad.

I'd love to see them come across eachother in ME3, not just an email.  How will they be?  Will Kolyat still have the surly smolder going on?  Will Thane shake his hand or keep his distance?  Will they meet up for hot chocolate and talk about the latest virtual racing game?  Will Kolyat say anything about Irikah?

EDIT:  Will Thane say anything about his relationship with Shepard?  Does Kolyat want a job?  Would Thane be alright bringing Kolyat into the fold (because I'd so use him as a contact on the Citadel)?

I can see Koylat as cameo near C-Sec. It would be sweet how Koylat and Thane's relationship is going. I can see Koylat still unsure but maybe less angry towards his father yet he still has to work on some issues...at least be more like: "Oh hey."

I just hope Shepard isn't blunt about that though.

Shepard: I'm doing your dad.

Koylat: -__- Thank you for giving me something to yell about.

I don't think Kolyat hates Thane. I hate my dad, so I'm going to be just like him - doesn't make sense. I think Kolyat is terribly confused, and after Thane's seeming rejection of him, he went a touch haywire and melodramatic. It seems like he doesn't know there's a middle road between what I imagine was a fairly sedate life with his relatives, and the sheer violence of his father's profession. Having him work for C-Sec seems custom designed to help him gain perspective.

I always wondered a bit if Kolyat would think Thane and Shep's relationship as deviant, or perverted. Still, living on the Citadel will also get him used to multispecies relationships, too. I think he'll still be struggling a bit to define his personality, but he'd be a bit more sedate. I hope, anyway. Thane needs Kolyat to live, not die in a blaze of stupidity.

Jyn: you get a cookie! ;)

N4: I agree with you. I don't think Kolyat hates Thane. I think he wants to be close to Thane but is like you said, he's lost. I would think Thanes relationship with Shepard would be confusing to him but I also think Shepard may have already shown Kolyat what kind of woman she is, so her work might already by cut out for her.

Cin: LOL that was fabulous. "Kolyat, your dad is under docs orders to get cardiac exercise so I help him in that department. Three times a day whether he wants to or not." I can see Thanr just look at Shepard and sigh, "Siha." Maybe even shake his head.

I just got the Thane romance scene.

To be honest I found it a bit lacking. :(
Although on the other hand I also was distracted because the audio and video weren't in sync. >_>
Anyone else had that bug?

My desktop has the same bug, but my notebook is fine. I generally just blur my eyes and listen to the dialogue. Got to say 'be alive with me tonight' is not my favourite sentence, but I did like the fact that Shep tried to live up to her words, 'I'm here for you, whatever you need'. The scene would be much improved with shirtless Thane instead of corny view to bed & pillows.

haha epic!  Brings me back to the days in NSAS where we kept coming up with things to say to Kolyat who always responded, 'You're not my mooooom!"  Which, to me, would possibly be more of a problem for him than Shepard being human.

I think Nonsense hit the nail on the head.  I don't think Kolyat hates Thane, but he does have good reason to give him the cold shoulder.

I actually think Thane's romance scene is the best one out of ME2 (surprise), but I liked Garrus' very much and Liara's and Jack's.  If they're going to play it safe and not give us shirtless drell or sideboob, then tug the heartstrings a bit, fade to black and leave the rest to the imagination.  That being said, shirtless Thane would have made that scene 10x better and I expect a good dose of shirtless Thane (for medical reasons) in ME3.

A good, healthy dose.

I personaly would liked to have seen my LI's face, not mentioning any names. I quite agree, Kolyat could not hate Thane but he still blames him for his mother's death, which is understandable. I've never had a Jack romance, never actually found anything really atractive about her. That, and she can't seem to do two sentences without having to swear at you. Now that's not very nice. Indeed, a bit of shirtless drell or sideboob of a character is fine but if Bioware don't want to do it then just do what they did with Miranda's scene.

No, Koylat doesn't hate Thane and like you guys say he is confused and now has to take things in perspectative.

I actually like the fade to black....gives us something to write in fanfics or think about just like Garrus'.

(I don't see what is wrong in seeing drellchest. It's not like they are showing the whole package. *snicker* whole package *snicker* Sorry)
