re: shepard and hallucinogens
I considered that she lived through being poisoned by that batarian bartender in Afterlife. This made me assume that part of whatever Cerberus added as "upgrades" included the ability to process and recover from stuff super fast - i.e. drugs, alcohol, medication, poison, etc.
Speaking of which, does anyone know if Thane has any concerned party member dialouge when Shepard gets poisoned? I've tried it with practically every pair imaginable and can never get him to say anything!

I think all the break-up options for Thane are terribly cruel and petty. It's "I can't replace your wife" or "I can't love a dying man" UGH. It's so horrible. I could never do that to him.cindalkitty wrote...

My hypothesis is that Thane has less dialogue than other crew members because his voice actor was changed somewhere down the line. They simply forgot to record this. That, or the dialogue is on a priority system and Thane is last in line.

I believe he says something like "if this was an attempt on Shepard's life, it was a sloppy one." Sort of like how he has a line for the Biotic God volus in Samara's acquisition mission ("Sleep well, and dream of bulbous women."), but I haven't heard him say it, personally.

Yeah, I've heard the "bulbous women" line on youtube. Never in-game and I almost always bring him.

That's definitely Keythe!Thane, and it's in the bundle with everyone else's lines.
Kasumi's made me o.0. "That's why I don't go putting strange liquids in my mouth." I lol'd.
Garrus... "I'm sorry, Shepard. I should have warned you." THANKS, PAL.
His lack of Omega poisoning line is made up for in LotSB, though. Every time I brought him along, he tended to hog the voice line each character had at the beginning as well as making sure Shepard was okay after the fall.
This appeases me.

It seemed appropriate to hold my own little private funeral for him

I woke up this morning with a severe penchant to hear "Cat's in the Cradle." It was a necessity. Listened three times and now feel as if I can face the world. Of course I had a dream about Thane but I don't think that would have anything to do with my need to hear a song. Nope, not at all. Was a nice dream though.
Cat's in the Cradle is such a sad song. I've read through th lyrics, and it hits so close to home with Thane and Kolyat ughh made me feel depressed

He seems to take it well. While it might be the most positive rejection it still doesn't feel right. He comes to talk to you. He's very emotional and all Shepard can say is it's just pre-combat jitters. Then he seems to bottle up his feelings. He thanks you then leaves. I could never choose that option.
I agree with what you've said about Shepard's comment being insufficient, but I'm not entirely sure that I would interpret it as a rejection unless it was implied that Thane was seeking physical as well as emotional comfort.

I've rejected him, but I've never played through the SM so I could see if it actually breaks off the romance. From the information gleaned here, Thane does not send his letter if she rejects him. I say "send", because I always assumed he sent it to those types of companies that release things after you die. I can't remember what they're called, but you pay them in advance to carry things out after you die. I assumed that's how the Shadow Broker got it.
The way I see it was she just brushed it off. He was very upset and she sort of gave him a pep talk. He might not have gone there specifically seeking physical comfort, but that's what Shepard chose to give him. It's not that she slept with him, it's that she offered support--the way she offered it was entirely up to her.

Indeed. The rejection does not end the romance. This was also the case in ME1; when your love interest comes over to your quarters en-route to Ilos, if you reject them, you will still get their picture on your desk in ME2 (should you import that save).
Interesting that that means you don't get the letter even if the romance is continued. Huh. I wonder if this affects anything in ME3.

I think, after what happened with Kolyat, he may not be using that sort of service again XD
The information on the letter says that it was "intercepted correspondence saved to personal drive." I took that to mean that it was taken from Thane's personal drive. Considering there's a vid that the Shadow Broker also has from the Normandy itself, I'm not too surprised he (or Liara) was able to snatch up that little bit of saved material.

Oh, good catch. Thanks for correcting me. Hm. Okay. Well, I guess he wrote it really really fast.
